ectophial is for teleporting to the ectofunctus, where it recharges. often used for a low level teleport to canifis. also next to port phasmatys

Their drop rate is really random lol, a while ago I got two masks within an hour of each other. Now, I am up to about 1000 kills and still no mask

I'm not totally sure on this, but I think their max hit is around 16. As for the black mask level yes it does matter. The prices vary from what level the mask is at. The defence charges hardly make a difference though. If you're concerned on the prices, check the Grand Exchange to be sure.
