Oh, we're sorry, on behalf of Canada, what can we do for all of your people? Another couple billions of dollars over a couple decades? Please, forgive us.. bwhahaha.. Get real, ain't your land no more boy.. never was..
of course the protestors have a right to stand up for what they believe in. but the olympics is a world-wide event that protestors can't stop. the spirit train was supposed to be an enjoyable family event and the protestors had to ruin it for everybody.
the olypmpic games are about the athletes and the pride for ones country. Go protest at the houses of the orignizers. Hate the players (in this case the orginizers, not the actual players) and not the game. Leave the celebration for athletes, endurance, dreams, good sportsmanship, and pride alone!
Ruining a family event? Oh my. Is that like ruining the land, ruining the culture, destroying communities? That's what the olympics are doing.
What was accomplished was that the media finally gave voice to people who have been trying for decades to be heard.
Colonialization is alive and well in this country, and people need to take a closer look at the impacts those 17 days of partying will have on indigenous communities. You'll see how more than a family event is getting ruined.
get more educated and open your heart , our people are trying to defend our culture, tradition, sacred ancestor burials , and our future. *sighs* dont be so closed minded, listen with your heart not your freaking ego m'an!
chill out... I opened the door for a debate here... as for being educated... you know nothing about me personally... I have given the people a place here to state opinions so personal attacks about egos aren't necessary... if you have something to say about the protest do so, but stick to the issues... personal attacks only belittle your cause.
im not speaking to you personally , im speaking out about the ignorant comments left about the 2010 winter games... i just really dislike heartless comments, sorry im just very respectful of my traditions and culture , .. so i will be more open to others views and ways, if i expect them to even think about doing the same.
Vancouver 2010 Olympics were great!!
