@UHtiger they put him in for the wrong reasons though benson stanley or rene ranger or robbie fruean are better players and would have been more sucessful in the rugby world cup yes? and theres already better players that played in the rwc who shouldn't have been banched ma'a nonu, conrad smith, cory jane, richard kahui the all blacks had a much better team without him not the first time the coach has got it wrong graham henry isn't coaching anymore!
@7dayspking Robbie Fruean and Sonny Bill were the best centre pairing in the S15 last year. Sonny's offloading is what made him such a valuable player as it was something that most oppositions couldnt deal with. This was the world cup if for anyreason the coaching staff thought he wasnt up to it he wouldnt have been risked.
@UHtiger i know his offloading is what made him good and berrick barnes had an extremely short league career i was just saying i like his playing style as opposed to quade cooper.. i don't remeber even mentioning league and union in that
@7dayspking Quade Cooper was the best 10 in the super 15 last year, thats why he was chosen. The australian team have never had strong forwards which is why they rely on the improvisation of their backs. Cooper more than any fits that mould. If him and Barnes were fighting for a spot on a northern hemisphere team then Barnes would be the obvious choice but for a team tha relys heavily on their backline cooper is by far the best choice.
@UHtiger dosen't did you watch the RWC? alot of the time with quade cooper rendering the backline completely and utterly fucked makes it very hard for a team to win without good forwards in the RWC we had some good influences in the forwards that really helped Australian in alot of there games (wales and south africa 2 games were they really showed what they had) players like dan vickery and james horwill stood out david pocock went alright to forwards pulled aus along in the tougher games

Plus they are aired on regular tv and not just pay tv like soccer and rugby. Player numbers are much higher than rugby as well. On the Australian landscape for winter sports its AFL, Rugby League, Soccer, Rugby Union. As it stands they are in talks of expanding the comp.

@7dayspking Yeah league players are crap. Piri Weepu, Jerome Kaino, SBW, Lote Tuqiri, Brad Thorn, Tana Umaga, Jonah Lomu, went from league to rugby and did absolutely nothing. Jason Robinson didnt go from league to rugby and become one of the best wingers to ever play the game.

@7dayspking Are you serious? Brad Thorn played for the brisbane Broncos, Queenslan and the australalian rugby league team. He was under contract with the Broncos from his early teens and was played top grade for them from when he was 17 until his lata 20's when he changed to rugby for a couple seasons, back to league for a couple then finished off playing rugby again. If your gonna argue, having the slightest clue about these people would be very helpful.

@UHtiger if your weight wasn't problem you must be like 100kg+ either that or you play scrum half in league i played 2nd row was 92kg i play outside center i'm nearly 114kg (yes i am still trying to gain weight no i no longer need to but i am aiming for flanker and the other flankers in my comp have a big size advantage)
@7dayspking Was a 100kg centre in both sports. Cooper had an absolute shocker in the world cup. Doesnt mean he's a bad player, just means the pressure got to him. When he's on song he's one of the most dangerous players in rugby.
