Honestly when I first heard this song at the end of the episode I was so pissed because the ending was so sad, and they put this song that is not sad. To me I felt as if they were playing a cheerful song during a funeral. But after I read more about the FSN visual novel and the bonus ending I realised that this song is suitable because when saber closed her eyes, she did have a continuation of her dream where she was finally reunited with Shirou in Avalon.
@hitmanreborn31 Sadly, yes she is. But in the end of the visual Novel, after you've completed all the routes theres a bonus ending where Shirou and Saber meet again in Avalon, the place where kings go to after they die. I really wish that they have ended the anime that way TT.TT

@Jkid101090 Nope, Fate/EXTRA is a completely different game, no connection between them in anyway except for the main plot with the holy grail war and even that's changed. Archer is the same from FSN, and Saber looks similar but a slightly bigger bust and in red, but she's a different Heroic Spirit. So the fate saber and the EXTRA saber are still two different characters. Hell I actually like the Fate/EXTRA saber.

And, in all honesty, I'm not a big fan of the red dress, mainly because it doesn't make sense for a warrior to strut around in a see-through skirt...Thank you for clearing that up, though. As for a prequel, there's the light novels Fate Zero, which is the story of the previous holy grail war with Emiya Kiritsugu and Saber is his servant there. Goes through the story of the fourth holy grail war up until the fire that destroyed part of Fuyuki city and the fire that shirou survived.
I'm not the biggest fan of that little bit of transparency. If it weren't for that, I'd like it fine. And I know, it's an RPG, right? I don't get too excited about Visual Novels, either. I want to play Unlimited Codes really badly, though. Fighting games are my favorite genre.

There are two other paths, but neither is animated. You can only find them in the Fate/Stay Night game, and Fate/Zero, the prequel to Fate/Stay Night, takes place 10 years before Fate/Stay Night, and is only in light novel form. Fate Hollow Ataraxia is the pseudo-sequel to Fate/Stay Night, but it's only in game form. There is no anime, manga, or book of it. There is a manga of Fate Stay Night which focuses on the Unlimited Blade Works path, while the anime of FSN focuses on the Fate path.
