  • For those that compare this to past presidents I must say this. I was in school in 88 and our school had 3-4 tv's total and all schools were similarly funded so how did Reagon speak to all students in every school across the nation? That was BS and other presidents made individual speeches in person not broadcast. Propoganda is spread by ignorance. Do some investigative research before spreading BS.

  • All students in every school have just been blessed by being able to not only be a huge part of history but to also to be on the receiving end of great words of wisdom from a very wise man. How anyone can argue that after watching the speech is beyond me.

  • Freedom of speech my friend!!! I cannot help the fact that you disagree with me but just because you think you are right all the time does not mean you are. The bible talks about the great speakers that will deceive everyone. Obama has done nothing for us yet except make great speeches. I myself don't want any politician speaking to my child. It is my choice. It is not wrong just because it is different than your choice. One world government is what Obama aims for and I am against it!!!

  • First of all I never said I am right about everything. Like you I am just sharing my opinion. The bible says a lot of great things to bad the conservatives are re-writing it again. If you think that all of this progression towards a one world government started with Obama you are mistaken. It has been in the works for a great deal longer than that... but blame him if you want to.. I don't think he has much to do with any of it quite honestly.

  • For aldernagon - I am not racist and it doesn't mean you are just because you disagree with someone or the way something is handled. I am an American that feels that there is no place in our schools for politics if there is no place for religion. I teach my children to stay in school and don't need my child writing how they can help the president achieve his goals. The president is there as a representative of us and my children cannot vote so they cannot help Obama reach his goals!!!

  • Those who don't want their kids to listen to the president's speech are just plain retarded and probably even racist.

Every president has made speeches directed at students and none have faced such criticism as Obama

    very suspicious

  • The funny thing about keeping the speech away from the kids is that it'll make them more curious about it.

  • its not about politics, people just use that flag to hate obama. Its all about racism, they hate the fact the majority of the united states elected a black president.

  • Charlie Ranell, is that you?????

  • BUSH WAS WITH KIDS WHEN THE TOWERS WENT DOWN . BUT YOU SAY DONT HAVE YOUR KIDS LISTEN TO THE A USA PRESIDENT , aNOTHER RACIST POINT FOR THE PINK PEOPLE .

  • Dont let the pink people of color write this down in thier history book .

What cbs news fail to cover is that this man said this is racist . Now they have went so far as teaching their kids hate AND NOT TO REPECT THE PRESIDENT BECAUSE HE IS A BLACK MAN .

I AM NOT A SLAVE AND I DONT BELIVE I WOULD BE UNDER THE ADMINISTRATION OF OBAMA , GET THIS MESS OUT OF YOUR HEAD . PLEASE PINK PEOPLE.AND LETS MOVE FORWARD.

  • Thats why the Conservatives lost the White House cuz they make up sum stupid shit to attack, n this one tops it cuz its our kids education n yall wanna stunt the growth of our kids! We trying to get more educated quickly n we need to get these kids excited about it! Are yall afraid that the public skool kids will get as smart as yalls kids that are in Private schools?! Yall still like that Unfairness N Imballance of Education, huh? U people are pathetic!!!!

  • There must be more to the "lesson plan" that the administration submitted with the speech than we are being told.

Public schools are alive and well. My great niece learned all about recycling on her very first day at school! Our kids and nation have a bright future in garbage it seems!

  • If he were concerned with our youth, he would have done something to get the class of 2008 into college with lower college rates and guaranteed student loans. If he is concerned with these students, he should focus on getting their parents JOBS, by lowering taxes, instead of raising taxes on small business owners!!

  • A minor miss-wording in a speech announcement taken out of context isn't proof of a conspiracy... unless you are naturally delusional.

  • Motivating students to be our next generation of engineers, scientists and mathematicians is evil? The right wing simultaneously claims to be patriotic, yet they demonize the two-way communication between the elected and it's citizenry. That is democracy. This isn't propaganda, it's letting children know that with hard work they can follow their dreams. I thought conservatives wanted everyone to work hard to be rich? So I guess you aren't now? I just DON'T get it.

  • What a bunch of idiots! When you are a child you don't care what party the president is from. You are just excite the president has something to say to you and it makes you feel like more of an american. To me people talking about they don't want their kids to get a pep talk from the president are unpatriotic. These kids say the pledge everyday but their are suppose to disrespect the office of the presidency. How disappointing!

  • hehe yeah exactly... its a frud so will won´t ask the real Q.

and if someone does its gonna stay in the dark... coz this is now the big thing as the healtcare is.

    wake up suckers..

  • Reminder: Reagan and Bush Sr. did the same thing.

  • YOu racist turd! Obama administration says this speech is unfuckingprecedented! Quit hatin" Obama follows no one ( except the great alynsky).

  • Unprecedented?? No, I saw Bush Senior #41 speech to children in school, I don't recall the Reagan speech, but I will look for it. I'm sure it is out there on you tube as well. The BHO admin is once again misleading you if they said it was unprecedented. Not a big shocker for anyone!!

  • The real reason parents don't want their kids to hear Obama? Because then they'll know their parents are idiots for dissing him

  • There is nothing wrong with the president inspiring our youth. Presidents have been doing this forever. Sadly the kids who would probably benifit most from his message will not be allowed to hear it.

Anyone who has questions regarding the public option may be able to find the answers in the comment section of my profile. I have a wide variety of resources and information including the ez to read version of the bill and several ways in which you can become more involved.

  • Just screwing with you on education....

There isn't anything wrong, instead of "There is nothing wrong"..................

Don't worry, he will get a message out to the children, one way or another. He just may be forced to give a generic message. That isn't a bad thing.

  • I am fairly sure it was a generic message to begin with... It is really a non issue brought up by people who think Obama is the boogie man in order to disturb shit as usual. As for your correction.. yeah I messed up. Big deal.. I have never claimed to be an intellectual.

  • I was just teasing you on the grammar...... We all do it! One good thing is that the pres will upload his telepromter speech of what he will say on Monday, so parents can see it ahead of time. I don't think it hurt anything for people to raise concerns. Thank goodness they still can do that in America. I think some parents just don't want their children to end up like some of the Acorn zombies that they see out there.

  • I just find it interesting that in the past presidents have done this same thing without anyone questioning anything. I am in MO and the school my kids go to is going to show it. I got a call last night. To question things is not wrong but to lie about them is. To create a needless fear is. As far as the teleprompter goes it is modern tech. They are used in schools and even churches. My son is in debate and they use them all the time. They are more efficient and they save trees.

  • Nothing against the telepromter..... my point was that he has to have a speech ready for the teleprompter, so it will be available to parents on Monday. I think that is great!! I don't think parents should pull children out of school, but I do think they should read what the pres is going to say and discuss it with their children Monday night before they go to school.

  • I wonder why it is these parents do not insist on knowing the teaching plans ahead of time. I know my kids have learned things in school that I do not agree with. In fact my boy came home the other day saying President Obama is a socialist and that he was born in Kenya. His teacher told him so. I don't think that teachers should be allowed to teach based on their own opinions. Anyway I am glad the paranoid will be pacified once again. I wonder how much it costs us to continue to cater to them.

  • I am not convinced that these are the same parents who are not aware of the teaching plans. Agreed, there are many parents who do not participate in their child's education, school or even just reading books with them. I think that parents are the key to their childs future, and so many actually make the problem worse, rather than improve it. Teachers have a tough job, especially when some parents are useless. I hope that education continues through the summer months as well. Many disagree.

  • I like the idea of year round school. I am a hands on parent. I think my childrern should be exposed to a variety of different points of view even if it differs from my own because that way they can make an informed choice later as to what they believe in. I just don't think that opinions should be presented as facts and vice versa. I hated Bush.. but if my children had had the chance to meet him or anything even close to that I would never deny them that experience.

  • I hear you on being exposed to different points of view. Everyone needs to see the big picture and make their decisions with all the facts. However I would never say I hate a President or any person because I disagree with their point of view. I don't believe most of what the current President says, I think he is very misleading, but I wouldn't say I hate him. He is just a politician, doing what politicians do.

  • I can respect eveything you just said. I have no problem with your opinion being different from mine. I have things that I disagree with the president on... but to sabotage his efforts for the soul purpose of seeing him fail for political gain is absurd. I feel like that is what the Republican party is doing as well as the blue dog dems when it comes to health care. If that was not their agenda they would be able to oppose it based on facts and not lies.

  • Granted, the R's would rather not see any of BHO's policies succeed, as they see them as harmful. However you really believe the fiscally conservative Blue Dogs want him to fail? I think they are going strictly by the numbers, and they don't make sense. It may be better to come up with new margins on Medicaid, rather than to implent HR3200. I'd love to see BHO toss it, and write his with details. D's bitch that R's haven't contributed any ideas, but it is more that both sides disagree greatly.

  • If they see them as harmful then why not point out the ways in which they are harmful instead of making up lies like death panels and all the other crap that simply isn't true? If you do research on the dems who oppose it you will find that they are in the pockets of the insurance companies big time and the same goes for many of the outspoken republicans as well. It is clearly a conflict of interest. As of now the dems are only 5 votes shy of being able to do this without the R's.

  • I think that there have been other options pointed out, however since both sides disagree on the fundamental issue, The D's just say "the R's just say NO and give no options". Just because you don't see massive bills like hr3200, doesn't mean there have been NO other options pitched. Just because one side isn't listening, doesn't mean there aren't options, only options that are unacceptable to them.

  • I think that Death Panels isn't a lie, when you consider wording that was removed from some bills. Then there is the Veterans aid brochures that makes suggestions. This is something that can be abused by bureaucrats if not checked, especially if it can cut costs. The truth is usually found in the middle, between the left and the right, and we have to look for it, it is in there somewhere.

  • I agree that we need to make sure that the wording in this bill is accurate and percise in order to prevent future leaders from taking advantage. I think that is the whole point of having all of these people involved.. to make sure things can not be misinterpreted. I agree that is important. I read the bill and when I did I didn't see it as death panels especially considering the fact that it is voluntary anyway.

  • As far as the Vet death book... that whole thing was ridiculous. Towey wrote his own death book and wanted them to use it and they refused so he was all pissed off that is how that whole thing started. None of the vets I know have ever seen or heard of the death book. I have many relatives who go to the VA and they love the care they get. As far as I know the book isn't even being used. I would like to say it is really refreshing talking to someone who is actually willing to discuss things.

  • The Bush ADmin removed the book from being used, and the Obama Admin put the book back in play. It was on the vets admin website 10 days ago. I don't know if it still is or not. But it is something like this that is interpreted by both sides differently that is the problem.

  • I think they had to keep it up on their website for some sort of legal obligation. That is what the woman from the VA said when asked about it. Anyway.. did you see Obama's speech to the children yet? If not I have it on my profile.. It was really really good. I hope my kids were paying close attention.

  • I will check it out. We have had bouts of illnesses around here. Doesn't it just figure!! My Nephew's first day of High School (and he was very excited to go, all AP classes) and he missed it. 103 fever. He asked me if the school will "label him a nutty right winger". I laughed and told him not to worry about that. He told me we can watch the speech online anyhow, in case they quiz him. So I will watch it later, but for now, I want everyone to just get better and not spread this.

  • OMG That is so bad. Today is definitely not the day to miss that is for sure. I hope he feels better though. I hope it isn't H1N1. You are really gonna like that speech. It actually brought tears to my eyes.. I don't think your nephew has to worry about the other kids but some of the teachers might look at him a little funny for a couple days. I think the kids are kind of oblivious to what is going on. I know my kids find it boring mostly.

  • It isn't any kind of influenza. I had to take him to the ER, because he got sick so suddenly, and it was after having helped a neighbor out with cleaning a vent. He had a terrible headache. I didn't know if it was some type of poisoning. They said it was viral, and it might last 3-4 days. But his Mother caught it too while we were in the ER. What timing! Thanks for the well wishes!!!!!

  • The republicans are constantly on tv opposing it.. if they have these other options then why not let them be known when they are point blank asked about them? The only option I have heard any of them talk about is raising the age for medicare to 70 instead of 65. I strongly disagree with that.

  • This having it on the internet or on cable tv not on national tv is a little crazy. If there is anything about what you can do for your President take a look at what Hitler did too. He got the kids to rebel and started the Holocaust do you want this to happen in America? We all have the right to speech but we do not have to listen to the person speaking either if we don't want to . You know what these kids have no choice unless we stick up for them.

  • What exactly can our kids do to help the President? Nothing! Ask yourself what you can do not what your kid can do. I believe this speech would be ok if he would publicize it in the evening time when the parents have a say or can watch it with them.

  • Have you watched the speech yet? If not you should. I couldn't be any more impressed. I have it on my profile if you have trouble finding it.

  • BOY YOU GOTTA LOVE WHITE ASS HOLES i wish i was the first black president i'll give you fucks something to hate about..i see what blk muslims mean now..when they say the 'blue eye devil' is tht u?

  • Obama ? Is that really you?

  • The Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan is another ACORN/Communist Party member from Chicago.

Funny Obama is another ACORN/Communist Party member from Chicago.

  • You know, other presidents have made speeches to school kids in the past. Reagan did it and his talk was all about government. I don't recall people flailing over that. Same with the first Bush. Yeah, a few Dems made some noise, but no one threatened to take their kids out of school. As far as I can tell, Obama's asking kids to focus on their education. Isn't that a good thing? Are people that paranoid that now the President of the US can no longer reach out in goodwill to students?

  • Comment removed

  • Obama has failed to be transparent and is losing the peoples trust on all issues. The fact that he surrounds himself with communists and uses Alisnsky tactics has not helped with trust. He did say he would bring change and unfortunately he might just have to destroy this country before he can rebuild it in his own image.

  • Hail victory? :)

  • Because we are a democracy woth freedom of speech! That's why!!

  • North Korean students are regularly asked to write letters to themselves describing how they can help the Dear Leader Kim Jong-il so I don't understand why American students can't not be asked to do the same for their Dear Leader.

  • Do you think this is realy the comparison that you want to make? The "Dear Leader Kim Jong-il"..... REALLY??? Very Scary................
