  • OH MENNNNNNN, amazing!

  • That sounds fuckin' great! And... 10 bonus points for the dance at the end.

  • holy god this is amazing. best cover i have heard so far.

  • maybe I should try playing drunk, really nice job dude

  • Nice playing, I bought a Yamaha FG 180 in 71 and learned to play this song then.

  • wowww amazing simply amazing :)

  • You play pretty good for a guy who's drunk!

  • 7 dislikes? I can't stop listening to this clip, I can only assume that these 7 are either tone deaf or have their musical taste in their bum. It is time for you to put up another video Ian. C'mon son, your fans await you. It doesn't have to be a lesson, just play something - 3 1/2 minutes is all it'll take. Try Friday night after a few drinks, just before you go to bed (try not to wake the wife and kids). All the best, hope to hear some more from you real soon. Mick.

  • sounds good to me!

  • Thanks for all the comments guys. The guitar is a Yamaha FG340 (Mk 2) it is from around 1972. It is a copy of the Martin D28.

  • @Kimians Brilliant - please take the time to put video lessons up. And get a couple of vodkas into you first because you couldn't be any better than that sober! I know it's a big ask, but make the vids cos you're just that good.

  • nice work dude what guitar is used in this vid?

  • WTF?, why does you says "It just sucks, it's outta tune", It's fantastic!

  • fantastic

  • Ok you were intoxicated, so i assumed you can't play that good when you're sober.

  • dude, i dont know what your talking about, it sounds perfect to me :)

    But anyways, beautiful song [:

  • You should totaaly mak tutorial for this. I don't like playing with my fingers, prefer with pick.

  • no clue what you're talking about, it's really good

  • Woah... are my ears lieing to me? cuz this is the best i heard so far! :D

  • Not entirely correct but still among the best I've seen.. 5 stars

  • George wrote one of the top ten most beautiful songs of all time with this one......

  • wow good job!!!

  • 5/5 :O

  • its easy

  • The guitar sounds so good! Of course it's YOU, the skill that you have to play this song... Good Job!

Do you mind I ask you, what guitar brand or you using? Really sounds good...

  • i love to listen to this!

  • This is great. Liked it very much.

  • Drunk or not it still sounds nice!

  • Bloody hell guys - its only a bit of fun! I was a bit drunk and thought I would try and show you how to play it -well sort of!

Thanks for the positive comments-respect to George!

  • @Kimians

I thought it was good (it could've been me) because I play it the same way but not so well these days.

It's not out of tune; it's a Yamaha and they're pretty good even now. I've an original FG180 and still excellent. Kim (that's me, not you!)

  • that is just brilliant man. i have to content myself by playing all with that video on my bass. but its not the same dammit!

  • man that's aweseome!

  • u might be sick of this but...tabs? or do u play by ear?

  • That's notorious mate! Cheers!! ;)

  • perfect :)

  • OK it is a bit fast but thats what a couple of Vodka and Cokes (Diet) does to your senses. Bollocks! I enjoyed the gig too - even the cat on the table gave me a standing ovation.

  • sounds good to me :)

  • comon a litle solw on this please

  • Thanks and acords?

  • Its great! just what i needed! haha thanx man,i needed acoustic guitar 2 practice with!

  • Amen to Lucas6377's comments. Very awesome.

  • NICE! No talking, no lame-ass singing, no looking at your bedroom, just guitar, great song (sounds like a dead on to the original), and decent sound quality. People should study this video for how to post a guitar video.

  • if you have a problem with those videos, maybe you shouldn't watch them. besides those videos specifically have the word "cover" beside them, something that even a kid in kindergarten can understand. anyway, nice gig!

  • haha u get so offended ur funny

  • 8.5 of 10 - lost slide in the construction of firts triangule REM.

  • stum picking, brilliant! like the origonal

  • One of the better versions of this song...=]

I tried playing it, check it out

  • Very good work,man-5*!!!!!Sound*****!!!!

  • dude, can you change the angle of the camera so i can make out the chords. I like this style as apposed to the traditional picking method but i cant see what your doing. write back to let me know if you posted it. I would really appreciate it.

  • The song sounds the most accurate if you capo the 8th fret

  • I'll think you will find that this recording is in the same key as The Beatles original. Two frets up certainly would not make it most accurate.

  • Yeah you're right, my guitar tuning was completely off :-(

  • @littlezdawg2012 7th fret

  • i have the same guitar

  • sounds perfect to me...

  • i love this song its great

  • Sounds perfect. It would be extremely helpful to have it tabbed out, however. I'd be willing to pay for it.

  • Sounds great. Do you have a tab for this version? Thanks

  • I LOVE IT.

  • What's the name of that key chain looking thing you have over your fret?

  • Its called a Capo and it is used to change the route key of the whole guitar. Cost about £12.00

  • Thanks man! I'm going to go get one of those :-D

  • Yeah and make sure you get a good quality one. I got one for $3 bucks at Target made out of super cheap plastic.

    snapped the next day.

  • Hah ha what do you expect targets not a bloody music store lol

  • @Kimians Capo on the 7th?

  • yeah that song is harder to flatpick than to fingerpick. I thought george harrison flatpicked it on the original. most folks finger pick it. i do. i can flatpick it too, but not as well.

  • Fantastic talent..thanks for sharing

  • How long have you been playing the guitar? It's sweet :-D

  • wonderful! can just imagine george harrison playing it the same way. excellent.

  • I'm thinking about playing this song for a possible girlfriend so thanks for the inspirational idea for song!!

  • Wow-fanstastic!! Only wish camera angle was more front one so I could learn to paly it that well. Any chance you could put another view of it?

  • I like the fact that you played this song with the pick instead of the finger style. I play with the pick and think it creates a better sound. Good job by the way.

  • what kind of guitar are you using? how much you spend for that?

  • Hi. The guitar is an early seventies (1972) Yamaha FG 340. They appear on E-Bay occasionally but are now quite rare. It's great to play and is very loud. Based on a Martin D28. Cheers. Ian

  • Cheers for all the positive comments guys. Just think of what a trip it must have been to actually write this piece and have placed on the bedroom guitarist's 'Must Learn' songs.Love it. Peace man!!

  • Great Job. The flat picking version is so much harder. Way to play like Mr. Harrison!

  • great cover mate,

does anyone know the chords of this version.\

    anyways, thanks again.

  • amazing:D

u didnt notice the mistakes coz it was so good

  • hey sure u did have some mistakes but cmon we all make mistakes and u were awsome by the way keep at it man nice job!!!!

  • Funny that! I counted 7.25 mistakes. This is meant as a basis tutorial -that means 'lesson'. Its not a performance.

  • I'm glad to see you play it with a flat pick. Harrison did it that way. It seems so many play it finger style because it's a safe way to play it.

  • allso its harder with a pick doing this well it is for me

  • ha! thats great 5/5

  • TABS AND TIPS PLEASE. lol

  • Woow ! I Looove The Way You Play. Your On My Favorites!

  • Sounds great, man! How about another lesson, eh?

  • i want to learn how to play this so bad

  • that was well good bein derious i wanna learn this song very well done :~)

  • "Ladies and gentlemen, i give you, the very talented Mr Smith."
