@s2mar33 There is no simple way to answer this question. Nor can I sum up everything into a single response that would fit on a YouTube reply. But here are a few basics. Pick a character that you think you vibe with. As in, your play style suits the characters design. You'll know, because you'll just kind of click with them. Second, get yourself an arcade stick. Third, training mode is your friend and also playing people head to head (not online) will help you improve.

@s2mar33 Simply put, choose a character you like and STICK WITH IT until you feel comfortable. Combos will come over time after you understand your character's mechanics. That and get your ass handed to you multiple times. Believe it or not if you have the patience to persevere and learn through losses you'll be a great player in no time.

@darktooth90 Well gameplay and everything is still the same except in SSF4, you have 2 ultras, 10 new characters, revamped story mode, and new online modes, new stages, old school bonus stages(destroying the car, breaking barrels), character balance changes........

You should get it. OR you can just wait for the SSF4 AE(arcade edition) coming this june which will add 4 new characters(Yun, Yang, Evil Ryu, Evil Akuma. If not, you can just get SSF4 then get the SSF4 AE DLC

What's the merit in making big combo strings? That's just practice/coordination... Anyone could pull those combos with enough practice and a good controller... It shows efficient players, not the "best" players... Abusing large frame moves as most Chun Li players do isn't being good either.

Good examples of good matches are 1:36, 2:54 and 4:50.

Creativity + Quick Thinking + Daring >>>> Coordination + Button timing practice + Abusing good moves (some of which got nerfed in AE btw).
