As a young person, who is interested in history (I majored in that and economics) I like to talk to people, who shaped history. I am amazed at how WWII combat veterans always down play their heroism as simply doing their duty and that the bravest men were those who did not come home. Both facts may be true but those who survived are still heros, no matter how magnanimous and humble they are after the War was won.
To Mr. King, I say thank you sir, for risking everything so I may be free today.
The veterans of WW 2 are the greatest veterans of all. WW 2 wa the most significant war ever. and most scart. the worlds hands wwas at stake in that war. scarytimes
my study hall teacher is an amputee my friend cept bugging him to see his prosthesis he pulled it off handed it to her and hopped back to his desk! i loled very loudly
My Grandfather fought in WW2 still Alive(born 1926) i fought from 1944-1945 in Nordland,Norway serving as a Ski fighter, i Only shoot one man, but he got a lot of stories. My great grandfather was a Nazi officer, so when they to first meet each other the almost killed each other!:p.
In Stuttgart alone, troops under Eisenhower's command raped more women in one week than troops under German command raped in all of France for four entire years. In fact, of all the major belligerents in World War II, the German troops had by far the smallest record of rape and looting. The German army's incidence of rape in all of Germany's occupied territories was even lower than that of American troops stationed on American soil!
a very distinguished man.god bless him.my dad was in the battle of the bulge,78th div. wounded in the leg and hand.thanks for the interview.
