Teams will travel to Oklahoma (Miami did last year), Virginia Tech (Nebraska did this year), USC (Ohio State did last year), Tennessee (UCLA did), and all of those places are way harder to play at then Tech. I'd take 8+ years of winning seasons a success at a high level. NU hasn't played at a decent level, consistentely in so long, that you guys probably forgot how to be good. And it's a fact, teams have told us they don't want to play here, but will play us at their stadiums. And we've competed with OU and UT consistentely for about 5 yrs. (excluding the drubbing OU put on us last year). And who's using UTs schedule? I know I didn't mention it.

You don't have the history of a Nebraska or a Oklahoma, so in order to schedule top non-conference opponents you need to work hard. It also might mean scheduling some tough games away from home (shocker), whether that be at a neutral site or on the road. You can't expect other programs to gravitate towards Lubbock. Go out and play some big name schools and then you can expect some reciprication.

1. You need to realize that you aren't an elite program and you can't expect to schedule games like one

2. Having one good year hasn't earned you national respect (people outside of Big 12 country have already forgotten about Tech last year).

3. Until you compete with Oklahoma and Texas on a yearly basis, you can't expect to be cut the same breaks they are. I know you aren't saying it, but I hate when TT fans use Texas's schedule as an excuse for their's.
