The strength of the GT-R against the Z06 is not in a straight line. Everyone knows that race goes to the Z06 unless it's for short launches. Put those two on tsukuba or sebring then the GT-R would win by a landslide it would dominate. The corvette cant keep up with the all wheel drive through the tight corners. Top speed and horsepower are the only things the corvette has on the GT-R. Drag racing is the corvettes side but the GT-R still does low 11s at 122 mph!!

So the GTR i saw get dynoed on that specific dyno made around 460whp, which isnt surprising considering it weighs 3800lbs and runs what it does. you watched a video of where the guys could have done numerous things to make it read lower, theres no way a 3800lb (car only) goes mid 11's on only 400whp.

your numbers are not correct. it is 1740 vs 1440 kg... that is 300 kg heavier. The equivalent of 4 adults of medium size. GT-R engines are hand-assembled therefore each one produces different horsepower, ranging from 480 to 500+ and although Z06 has better power to weight ratio, its gearing doesnt help. Judging from other GT-R races, Z06 could only be a little faster than GT-R, not that much.

Acceleration is detemined (mostly) by the power to weight of the two vehicles racing. The car with fewer pounds per horsepower will win the highway roll-on race in just about every instance (except for the r-tard driver in a manual). C6Z pnds/hp = 6.3, GTR = 8. C6Z SHOULD WIN EVERY TIME in a straight line race.

Actually, the gearing in the Z06 is much taller than that of the GT-R. (Not numerically speaking) The GT-R has 3.70 gears in its differentials, whereas the Z06 has 3.42's. First gear in the GT-R is 4.06, 2.66 in the Z06. At every gear, the Z06 is at least 27% taller than the GT-R, and at the most, 65%. Motor Trend has a comparison chart between the 2 on their website. They compare and contrast the differences, and their affects. Its quite interesting.

i culdnt find ne stock ones running that fast, all i found was high 11's and low 12's time after time. gtr still has quicker 0-60 time and track times.

Look Up, "Ranger Z06" He runs 10.85@ 129.5 on drag radials, and 11.15@ 127 on stock tires. In order to pull off times like that, 0-60 would be 3.2 at the MOST. Ranger isn't the only one on youtube to put a stock Z06 into the 10's. It seems as if you were pleased, if not relieved to find any such videos...not to mention you probably didn't look too hard. However it serves to mention that this Z06 was someones personal car, broken in, and not completely new, like ones tested by media publications.

if you think a GT-R has 480hp you're in the dark ages. this car dynos at 420, which means its actually 520hp (520 - 20% for AWD driveline loss = 416).

What the owner of this video failed to mention is that the GT-R has a speed limiter that's limits it's speed to 112 mph for daily street driving. Once the GT-R is on a racetrack, the limiter is disabled via GPS. It's clear when watching the video, that both cars are equally matched in acceleration up until 100+ mph. After that, the Z06 will obviously win becuase the GT-R will be stuck at 112 mph. If you don't believe me, google "Nissan GT-R speed limiter".
