To become a Qari Technically not just have a good voice and do tarteel. (as majority of qaris are called qaris for) you need to know 4 branches of Knowledge regardin Qiraat.

1. Knowledge of Tajweed (makhrij & Sifaat)

2.Knowledge Of waqf (where and how you can stop)

3.Knowledge of Qiraa,aat (different ways of reading eg Warsh Khalaf etc).

4.Knowledge of Rasmul Khat (why the quraan is written in a certain way.
