@AxenApocalypse Elixir is a (quite expensive) brand of string and steel is a type of string, If you are getting a steel stringed guitar (which is almost every acoustic guitar besides classical which requires nylon) I would recommend a cheap set of strings if you are just starting out. Getting an expensive set when you are just learning imo is a waste of money since the sound will not matter nearly as much as your playing and technique, and you will have to replace the strings before too long.

@theduze1 Fair point, however Elixirs last a great deal longer than any other brand I've ever used (advertised as 3-5 times). Also they are softer on the fingers, which might be useful for beginners.
