A rigged election is a rigged election. Some are more violent that others for sure. but NONE are democratic. I commend your interest in Bangladesh,but you shouldn't discount the fact that lack of political transparency is one of the reasons there is so much poverty in Bangladesh.

hey raju88, one of the things I like about Dr. Sachs is that he tries to transcend any one particular viewpoint. For example, he said in the speech I saw that he's not a free-market economist. "Are we trying to prove a theory, or are we trying to save live?" he asked. That is one of the many things that sold me to his message.

Nor of those two is good enough to rule (yes, "RULE", not "lead" as it should be) the worlds (read: EARTHS) most influensial country.

But the best outcome is if you can focus on both issues, of course.

So ending poverty is possible.I can't imagine what it'd be like if I had no house,no clean water,no bathroom!,no school,no car,no computer,no tv(although it's disconnected), no money!!We,including myself,are so focused on making so much of it to sustain ourselves in middle America and in our capitalist economy but we aren't even aware of those who don't have even their basic needs!Perhaps all of the largest companies should plege what we put in the economy(our consumerism) to fellow countries.
