Antonioni doesn't need Bach to make his point. this music strains and in that last chromatic scale balanced unevenly against a cello's d there is the purest sound of anguisse but it does nt fir this film ...at all . Maybe after the last six 1/2 minutes of inanimate things and silence .

This and La Notte are two of my favorite Antonioni's films. Specially this one, but the acting of Jeanne Moreau in La Notte is superb.

Thanks for posting this. Antonioni was an extraordinary director and he will be missed. Zabriske Point & Blow-up are two of my all-time favorites.
