dont wait go out and try it , you will kick yourself for waiting so long .. i have to drive 4 hrs each way to fly and its worth every minute

It's just a good time. You can start at 3K, 4K or 5K feet. Pretty mellow event unless you ask for some roller coaster like activity. From 5K and a clear day, we could see the Chesapeake in the distance.
