@MrHeAtErMaN Yeah it looks like they changed their site a bit. I can't put links here in the comments (which is lame) but take the link to Samsung's Vibrant page in the description and then click on the "Support" link which is directly UNDER the "Tweet" and "Shop" buttons. then you should find Downloads to the right of the picture of the phone. ("Get Downloads" link)

I kept getting the Unregistered Device. I took out the battery restarted and everything I do. I even look up most of the solution online and still couldn't get rid of the unregistered device... I'm using a Win 7 64 bit computer... Please help :(((

I did my research and i was about to give up , there are so many videos trying to show you how to upgrade but they were soooo complicated you had to down load some much crap and many of them you had root your phone ! which I did not want to do .

hey, i tried your method for the "unregistered device" but still, nothing happens. I chatted with 4 samsung agents but they don't know anything! they asked so many questions that don't even have to do anything with my problem....do you have any other methods, since your much better than the stupid agents?
I was talking w/ some people and they said that they didn't register on the site and still successfully upgraded their phone w/ the software. So now I'm even more confused as to why that error occurs.
The only thing I can say is to keep trying unhooking the USB from the phone and also closing and reopening the software periodically (every 15 min - 1hr). Those are the only things I did besides registering.
Other than that I unfortunately have nothing else for you. Best of luck.
@sumwunn i recently chatted with a samsung agent and they said do a soft reset...take offt the battery of the phone for 30 seconds and try samsung mini kies again...that worked for me! theni got an error during the upgrade so i pressed emergency recovery and updated my phone to UVKA6, so happy now!
No problem here w/ Sims 3. I've played it a few times since update just fine. Avatar movie is broken on mine though. That's fine by me though. I don't think I want my first viewing of it to be on such a small screen anyway.

My update failed why??. When it was upgrading the update failed and stopped by it self. I followed all the steps. Now my phone has a black screen as background and in the middle has a cellphone a triangle with this sing (!) and a computer. I can't even turn it off. I'm going to tmobile.

@shammas23 First of all I'm glad you loved the video. But yeah its annoying that they didn't ALSO put out an OTA update. Though I'm not sure that Samsung is fully to blame (if at all) for the lack of an OTA. I would imagine that some of that would have to be on T-Mobile. I am with you in that my next phone will be HTC. If the EVO on Sprint is any indication then you get timely OS updates w/ working GPS. MAYBE I'll get the LG Optimus x2 if it turns out to be as good as it seems it will be.

@greghost1 The non-functioning Avatar movie is a regular problem with the update. A way to solve this problem is to do a factory reset of the phone. In most cases (including mine), Avatar was able to be played just fine after that.
@Ibztone Yeah I feel for ya'll. I primarily use Ubuntu Linux so I would have been in your situation if I did not keep a Windows installation around for World of Warcraft. IMO they really should toss out an Over The Air update at some point down the road for those people unable to use Kies.

@watchingdennis Thanks man. It was my first YouTube video longer than 3 seconds. Just wait til I get my Linux reinstalled. Then I should be able to use my favorite video editing software. Then ill pump out a lot of vids.

Had it two days ago. Ka6 leaked early. I've been rooted for over two months now and have been enjoying 2.2. Waiting for the nexus s 2.3 port now. Good tutorial video by the way.
