Angry Chinese Demanding Punishment to Corrupted Officials

For those who don't know. The Chinese citizens know corruption is rampant. Safety officials were bribed to ignore safety protocols. People who demanded action earlier were jailed. Now that the earthquake had happened they even arrested the survivors for demanding justice. The Chinese Communist Party must take responsibility.

I think Chinese people are offended because they know that there is truth in this joke. And the truth hurts. China is an extraordinary revelation into how selfish, cruel and aggressive humanity can be. I know some people may think that I am racist - but I travelled to China with an open mind and a love of people. I left not disliking Chinese but being ashamed to be human. We are all the same. Black, white and yellow. But the Chinese really showed me so close to my face how low us humans can go.

Nothwithstandig cultural relativism ... some things are just plain rude whatever your cultural background: the rampant materialism, open aggression, indifference to other persons, spitting and throat clearing, zero personalism, pushing and shoving ... and being extremely quick to "lose face" i.e. spoilt brat syndrome.

The said school buildings collapsed like pancakes while surrounding buildings still remain standing. Most of these schools are local built. There are also schools built by Operation Hope (xi wang gong cheng - school building projects carried out by overseas chinese/foreigners) that survived the earthquake fine. none of the Hope schools collapsed. so yes, i do think something is wrong with the construction.

The construction industry anywhere in this world is susceptible to dishonesty and corruption. Takes a mature system (and non-corrupt administration) to police the process. So in a place like china, it's corruption haven!

To Lidiya, china is not a democracy. U dun just go on the street and protest (think tiananmen) It takes a lot for the parents to do this.

dude.... the earthquake was 7.8 (8.0 now).... does anyone actually understand the magnitute of that? =___= we talked about this in school... and trust me, even teh most well build buildings wouldn't ahve survived. not the say taht the government isn't corrupted (every govnt is) but this is ridiculous. when bad things happen humans just like to put teh blame on SOMEONE. there must always be a black sheep to take the heat. humans are so disgusting.

funny things is that they complain about the corruptions AFTER something bad happens like this earthquake. if they were so concerned about it do should ahve taken action earlier. yes, i feel bad that their kids died, but that does not exclude the fact that a earthquake that big would have taken down any sort buildings, regardles of how well it was build. let's face it, those parents only want revenge and retribution; since they can't take it out on god or nature.
