It could be not in their first pregnancy it can happen within the next pregnancy, my best friends mom didn't have twins til her second pregnancy and there is twins on her side.

So they're identical triplets, which is NOT hereditary. So the odds of them having identical twins are the same as any other womans. Having fraternal twins in your family is hereditary in that the ability to release more than one egg at a time is hereditary.
