  • its nice to see a woman playing the mrudangam :)

  • I'm sorry but BMK doesn't give enough space to the other master to shine. Same happened with Kishoriji.

  • kya baat hai superb composition by two great masters of Indian classical music

  • this sounds at times so close to mile sur mera tumhara

  • @asdfghjkl5poiuytrewq Same raga, right?

  • This is not composed by Thyagaraja. It says murali lolam - composer is Balamurali Krishna and the song is in praise of Thyagara who composed countless songs. Gist of the meaning let us praise and salute to the great teacher Thayagaraja.

  • Bharat ratna Bhim sen Joshi Ji with future bharat ratna.. Balamurali krishna garu...

    This is pure bliss

  • Superb, Excellent.

  • thanks for upload.... superb performance....

  • No words can make them they r just great

  • I don't understand a word...but what havenly singing.I wud be grateful for the lyrics with translation.

  • Thanks for upload prax78.Scitilating music from great masters of same raga in two traditions.

  • Its just altimate video, I like both singers very much. Its golden apportinuty who listen this program LIVE. Now its not possible. We have loose one of them few days ago.

  • Subhan Allah is very right! They are scintillating.

  • RIP Bhimsen Joshi.

  • wah wah what a bairavi by these tow great singers the are both very good but pandit bimsin joshi is emazing

  • Okay as it turns out this song is available as part of whole album on Amazon for $7 American. Since I can't post the link, Search "Jugalbandi (Duet) Series: Live At Shivaji Park". I just bought the album. 75 minutes of soulfulness!!

  • I had tears in my eyes. I wonder if I can buy the Audio CD/MP3 of this somewhere. Inputs appreciated.

  • really appreciate your effor prax78!! Love this video and it has been in my favourites since I watched it first time..

  • GREAT

  • So beautiful to hear the contrast between the subtle gamakas in Dr. Balamuralikrishna rendition and the hindustani (straight notes) from Panditji - particular around 3:40.

prax78 - thank you for uploading this and giving me much joy today.

  • What?! this is not Bhairavi! At least, not the Carnatic music Bhairavi. It's Ahir Bhairav.

  • @sid040691 sindhu-bhairavi in carnatic..

  • it's the willingness to learn that makes masters

  • Two fantastic singers on one stage they both sound amazing ...

  • Joshi looks like George W Bush. So does Trichy Sankaran. Too many GW look alikes in Indian Classical music field.

  • @sonofthedestroyer Completely irrelevant here...

  • Lyrics ( Thyagaraja kirtana -composition) Manase Bhajare Guru Deivam Oh Heart sing (worship) guru ( teacher) is God (universal Spiirt) Bhajare Guru Deivam ( Guru thou art IT ) Amrita Madhura Sangeeta Sudhakaram ( Essence Delectable (as in taste) Music Divine ....not literal) Amala Gunanmitham Adbutha Charitam ( Give me a while to translate this since I blew the previous line) Bhajare >>>>Bhajare Tambura Veena Vamsi Lolam Tambura Veena Murali Loolam Thyagarja gurum swaninam Sathatham
  • not a lot of women in the audience!

Buli nabo...Gangubai Hangal sings this one too.

  • Can someone tell me the lyrics of this bhajan?

  • masters together! learning from each other! its great to watch them, a real performence!

  • amazing ....really great to see two stalwarts together...thnx a lot for sharing this video. Regrds Sourabh

  • wow.... amazing....

  • the respect for each other is so clear .. and amazing .... clearly the two masters ... comparing the two is like comparing Vishnu and MAhesh ...

  • I wonder if anyone can stop their tears watching these two masters together. Goodness gracious! Gems. Absolute gems. A big salute to these two wonderful artists. Truly beyond the scales.

  • Despite the different cultural traditions to which they belong, Carnatic and Hindustani, the musical friendship of Panditji and Dr. B. Krishna is so touching, beautiful, and actually divine. All that is sensitive, pure, eternal though fragile, is expressed by men such as them. And when Bhimsen Joshi looks at Balamurali, or leans toward him, then from those masters emanates the deepest expression of human fraternity.

  • How could I get the lyric of this song? I've searched for, but I didnt found yet

  • Both are maestros who have dedicated their lives to music. In my dads words - This can be the result of only lifelong sacrifice. We were lucky to host the maestro Dr BK at our home and it was a blessing in disguise to listen to him.

  • The whole equals much more than the sum of its parts.

  • Thank You for sharing these recordings, it is such a blessing!!

Never seen Bhimsen Live and always a big fan

  • absolutly mesmerising performances

  • wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I saw them singing live again in 2005 I think. It was amazing, even though I like both forms of classical, I found Bhimsen Joshi simply outdid Dr Balamurali Krishna. Not, that Dr Balamurali claims otherwise. He openly claims that Panditji is the master :)

  • But Joshi's pronunciation is not as clear as Magalampalli. Joshi is expert in splitting & dragging words! :)

  • very true

  • NOTHING TO SAY JUST HATS UP

    WAH BHAI WAH

  • great magalampalli&bheemsai joshi hats up

  • its an awesome song !!

  • It is like two rivers meeting to form a larger stream, flowing towards salvation.

  • I believe there's no better clip to tech us the intricacies of bhairavi (@sindhu bhairavi)than this one.

  • Subhan Allah. Excellent.

  • awesome....

  • Dr Balamurali Krishna n Bhimsenajoshiji are amazing. Wondenrful video. Can anybody post Bhakta ramadasu keerthana sung by this living Legend?

  • Unique, emotional and elegant rendering in Hindustani and Karnataka classical music by great living legends of Indian classical music Pandit Bhimsenajoshiji and Vidhwaan BalaMuaaligaaru.

  • I was yearning to listen to this jugal for a pretty long time. Thanks for posting this. It is a wonderful blend of two classical giants. This raag is known as Sindhu Bairavi in Carnatic Classical and Bhairavi in Hindusthani Classical. Wonderful ! Fantastic !! Superb !!! Sindhu Bairavi is Saraswathi singing before u !!!!
