  • Does it change anything if i type "public class apples{" instead of "class apples{"?

  • @Tkwk33 It means, that class 'apples' will be accessible from outside the package in which it contained. Also, .java file can contain only one public class.

  • @VV0lfdalE oh!Thanks

  • Private i... Eye see what you did there.

  • *knock knock*

    yes boss

    YOU'RE FIRED!!!

  • He doesn't answer the door so quickly when it's his boss. Also, his boss sounds like him :P

  • you are bloody awesome Bucky.. Thanks!

  • I'm not sure what you're using, but it seems as if you don't have to define your constructors? I'm very confused as to what your classes don't have constructors in them. Other than that, your tutorial is immensely helpful!

  • @Sephern You don't need a constructor. A constructor is just a method which executes when you build an object of that class, so you can kind of have variations on a class without having subclasses(there are other uses too). Hope that helps.

  • @TheViolinCalamity I followed his tutorial exact and got my project done...Got an 80 because my program worked but not the way the teacher wanted it. Lol, that's what he gets for making a vague description!

  • Java doesnt have any vector or list, map template?

    it sucks then

  • Why did you set thelist[i]=d; ? If I remove that line, the program still works.

  • @300henry

Without this line, it will just increasing, but it won't store an object.

  • Aside from the apples, all the classes are ephemeral :D

  • nice video thanks

  • cause our boss told us to. YES SIR BUCKY SIR!

  • why do you need to check whether the index smaller than doglist.length? I don't see the length of the list anywhere.

  • @thongnguyen1292 private Dog[] thelist = new Dog[5];

  • @thongnguyen1292 If the number of elements ("dogs" in this case) exceed the array capacity of 5 the program will crash because array index will be out of bounds.

  • Bucky, you have helped me a lot. Thanks!

  • Do you know of or have created a glossary that contains the words used in your tutorials?

  • @jake2913 Your thinking of a java reference book, like a dictionary but for java and each method and class and whatever i think

  • Well now i Know what to do if i ever have a boss that is absesed with dogs : )

  • Lol Can't wait til he releases his 500th video! Oh... Wait... He has 2,398 videos out.... xD

  • Can of monster, bucky java tuts, lets roll.

  • Lol, im getting a sushi add in the google adds on the right because of all the food talk i guess

  • anyone else find private i a funny name....it be investigating

  • thank you for putting animals instead of food , all the food got me hungry :P

  • Is there any surprise for the 2,186th video :P?

  • dog and fish? they should also belong in the food class

  • Ladies like it big and better :3

  • good work.. love ur style

  • @tuberokz private means it wont be called in another file, Dog[] is a string indicated by [] the list is the name of the variable, and it means add a new string Dog[];

  • bucky is this "int i "statement has to be static or not?

  • @theodopa, the "int i" is "static" to the "method"(s) in the class, but not "static" to the "constructor" of the class unless it is defined "static". Hope it helps.

  • @tuberokz Dog is just the class its "calling" thelist is its name

  • you are awesome Bucky!

  • fuckin boss

  • It's pretty sad for the teachers all over the world that we all think your a better teacher!!!

Thx from me, cause my teacher just gives us power point presentations that should do her job, which they don't and because of you I can still learn!

  • Search for stanfords Programming Methodology Lectures 100 times better and taught by a professional.

  • @katt157 You mean the guy with the high voice and the crappy presentation?

Being a professional doesn't make you a good teacher...

    Bucky's got it...

  • @BlackAndRedSkies At least he has a basic understanding of java. Why do you think Stanford hired him, probably because he cant teach, yeah, that's why. That guy tells you how to program, Bucky tells you how to make variables, functions, loops and classes. Don't get bad habits, get professional lectures which teaches you it in and out. BTW I also recommend you watch all CS lectures from Stanford.

  • @katt157 I do get professional lectures, as I study Computers. I 've attended classes in my university and I watched some of this Standford guy's lectures. And I still think of Bucky as a great teacher!

And by saying that Bucky tells how to make variables shows that you haven't watch him at all or that you are unimformed about his stuff.

Maybe Standford has great lectures, I have in mind to watch sometime, but as for Java (maybe other program languages too, I don't know) Bucky is way better...

  • @BlackAndRedSkies Trust me, a potato knows more java.

  • @katt157 That's strange... I eat potatoes since I was 2 years old and I hadn's compile a java program before Bucky...

Look, I don't know your motivation for writing comments against Bucky but it is pretty obvious that his teaching ability isn't one, because you haven't watch more than 2 videos of his. If you did, you'd have another opinion...

I don't know you, I don't know Bucky and I don't have any personal gain if Bucky worths. I just want internet to be something more than advertising space.

  • @BlackAndRedSkies He has a good way to teach, although he programs in the wrong way. That's it compressed from 1.7TB of text.

  • You make it so clear, you should be a Uni lecturer.

  • Still obsessed with fish. :D love ya bucky!

  • Can the if statement at the DogList class be replaced with for()? like:

    for(i; i< thelist.length; i++){ thelist[i] = d; println("D added at " +i);

  • Bucky I'm falling in love with you!

  • Lol, Private i, get it haha. Sorry I had to. Anyway. Amazing tutorials Bucky they make programming very easy to learn.
