I really thought that Earth would end up being ancient Kobol. That somehow they'd arrive there by being sucked through a singularity or wormhole or something in the final showdown and so they'd be their own ancestors. It'd at least have explained where the prophecies came from and the whole tagline "it's all happened before and will happen again." Alas I was completely wrong!

Though what I was expecting was that they arrive at Earth, the audience is led to believe it is prehistoric Earth until the final scene when we find a centurion head or get a flashback to reveal it all started with us.

Yes, it is a bit star trek-y and nothing else in the show was like that BUT I couldn't see how it was all gonna make sense. I think that's why so many people were disappointed with the religious conclusions to some of the show's mysteries too - it didn't feel like it was that kind of show and then suddenly IT WAS! An anamoly sorta thing at least lends itself more to science than faith, but I'm totally happy and satisfied with what the writers came up with. Fantastic sci-fi show, one of the best!

Personally, I used Zamzar, a website, to download the video, then used Quicktime to crop it so I could get just the part I wanted, then one of the many programs online to convert it. I do wonder where this came from. My guess is this is a leaked demo version Bear might have done. It's too well done to be a fan thing, but this version was never in the show. If you watch the episode with the arrival of the Pegasus, you'll hear the lords of kobol song, but it's not nearly as awesome as the remastered version on the season 2 soundtrack. So this strikes me as the same sort of rough sound that he'd have made before the final version.
