@IeBronJames I am working on an article for this, it seems alot of people forget to check a few things,

1. Make sure your on same router that your PC and ATV2 is connected

2. Check the IP address on your AppleTV 2,

3. This Process is done on WIFI and not USB

Hi ! I'm also having putty 'network error: connection timed out' in windows 7, I followed all your steps but it still giving me this error..? I'm able to jailbreak though..but can't go anything else as putty is not starting ?? Please HELP !!!

Thank you so much for all of your videos! I'm new to all this, Appletv2 is jailbroken, running Win7, I have tried putty, cyberduck, and Filezilla, and basically get the same message with connection refused. I've checked everything you've mentioned, and I've tried more research before asking you. Although with no luck! Any input is appreciated. Thanks

When I type apt-get update, putty comes back with the following error message. " E: Type '.deb' is not known on line 1 in source list /etc/apr/sources.list.d/awkwar­dtv.list

@sedianewbold make sure your on same network, and check ip address so you know what ip address is for your AppleTV 2 then try again

@brian16021955 This error accours only 2 places,

1. When you launch the PuTTY software it gives you pop up you need to click Yes or OK (means authenticated to use this software on your Windows )

2. make sure your Computer and Apple TV 2 is on same network

3. Make sure you need the Apple TV 2 IP address

4. Make sure your AppleTV 2 is Jailbroken

5. and make sure your Apple TV 2 is live and not connected to your Computer via USB

that is all it should work like a charm

@Samie4545 There is another videos i made under Question Answer and i came across same problem but when i checked my ip address was wrong i fixed it and i was able to SSH, 2nd way make sure your connected to proper network like if you have more then one network your connected to same network as your computer

@papagorgio826 What baykes75 problem was wired network and not same network connection, so make sure your on same network or router, check that and msg me back see what happens

@skymaxworld Hulu is avaible in States and not in Canada i'll try to find you info about it but i don't think i can get access i have tried back in days but no success

Thank you for all your help, finally i got it working, i had to changed the ATV from wired to wireless and do all over the air and it just worked! THANK YOU!

You so good. Thanks for the reply but I'm 100% positive my ip address is correct when i do this exercise. I have checked that a hundred 100x. I always use the ip number on the tv screen from the apple tv. when i check the ip address on my computer it gives me a different number and always end with (preferred). Dont know if thats also an issue. if so how do i fix this.
