  • Comment removed

  • i have the samsung intercept and its running 2.2 n no i haven had any trouble with it and it responds pritty good !!!!

  • @411DESHAWN naw not really...yo shit got the same specs as a optimus v...only thing you got is a 3.5 in screen vs 3.2 ( not a big difference).

  • i was debating on getting which fone out of two .

i deff want the optimus .

  • i might get the optimus 2morrow. :)

  • i got the att fusion. better then both of those phones

  • im getting the optuims v for christmas..i was go get the htc wildfire s but i heard that the memory is bad nd all of that soo ..Yeah

  • My Optimus Prime (Yeah... that's what I've named my phone) is coming in the mail today :D

  • I REALLY WANT TO GET THE OPTIMUS V WOULD U RECOMEND IT? I HAVE THE INTERCEPT AND I HATE IT ITS SO SLOW AND IT FREEZES WHEN I MAKE CALLS=/

  • i have the optimus I like it but i really want an HTC

  • I have the intercept this phone is a freezer

  • the samsung intercept's home button doesnt work because it turns of to save battery life. slide your finger over the optical pad and the buttons turn on.

  • I meant Angry Birds compatible XD

  • Do either have Angry birds?:D

  • @bjknngbhh Angry Birds runs very well on the Optimus. From what I remember, it was pretty slow on the Intercept, to the point of not really being fun to play.

  • @ivarneli I got the ZTE Avail instead of either of these xD but id still like a physical keyboard.

  • @bjknngbhh Angry birds wouldn't play at all on my Intercept. It's one of the worst phones around.

  • it's because the Optimus is running And 2.2 and Intercept is running on 2.1 I upgraded my intercept to 2.2 & had no problems

  • @Manman12y2 Check out the LG Optimus Slider! Same thing as LG Optimus V but the Slider has a key board! And 2.3!

  • I heard the Samsung Intercept has only 256MB of RAM, which is barely enough to run Android OS and causes a lot of freezing and crashing based on the reviews of people that had bought it on Virgin Mobile's website.

  • Lg optimus is the best

  • does the lg optimus have a glass screen?

  • @IgetRocked No, I think it's some kind of plastic.

  • @ivarneli It's fiberglass.

  • Can the intercept get swipe

  • @melvinc577 The last time I tried (around March 2011) they would not let me install it - the screen resolution of the Intercept was too small to support the program. I don't know if they have changed that.

  • @ivarneli i heard it has swipe now

  • @melvinc577 YES

  • Ok obviusly ur sayin the optimus is better....

  • 2:06 dude u kno that the human nature doesn't allow u to do that at the same time.

  • how do u activate this phone

  • i have to say the intercept has a much more appealing design and has an advantage with an actual keyboard, but the optimus is much more faster and more responsive. the optimus wins, hands down.

  • Dude stop adjusting the phones when they r just sittin there

  • No real info

  • it got android 2.2 you had to downlod the update

  • I bought the intercept and took it back for the optimus because of these same reasons

  • does the samsung intercept have pandora?

  • @Datgirl0922 You can download Pandora from the marketplace on either phone.

  • I GOT THE OPTIMUS TODAY I LOVE IT

  • Thank you sooo much for these videos. I was trying to decide between these exact two phones. You've helped me make my decision!

  • @tracyblogger Glad I could be of service :-)

  • @tracyblogger ?????not to be inn ur bse butt what was ur decision

  • @nicecoolboys - ??? I chose the same one ivarneli recommended, based on his pros and cons on each.

  • @tracyblogger witch one did u pick?

  • @mbjbmathis - The same one he ultimately recommended. :)

  • Is there any possible way that you can make the Intercept can be faster?

  • @victoriaisntsosecret Maybe if rooting is done properly and then overclock, that's the only way I can think to make the Intercept faster. (by rooting the phone the warranty will be void)

  • This mainly comes down to if you want the qwert keypad or speed! Both phones are awsome!

  • dude stop putting down the intercept.. damn

  • please answer i have att gophone right now with an iphone and it recently just is too slow i have money to get the optimus , triumph is too much for something the optimus can satisfy me with . can i port my number from gophone to virginmobile ? if you know its possible , please reply back im hoping to get this soon , i pay 25 now with gophone and i dont get anything unless texting 35 for alot on vm i would like to have

  • hey i live in tampa

  • intercept has a very small screen LOL.

  • @TheNikkosacopanio They have the same size screen dude. 3.2 inch

  • I have a samsung intercept. Horrible response from touch screen and apps and keyboard and softkeys (I hate soft keys for home, back etc). The battery is horrible. Samsung intercept very bad phone. I'm changing it for Optimus .. have heard very good reviews including this one. Very good review from this guy. Thanks man.

  • @shashbro i wouldnt they have a new phone thats called the motorola triumph its really good better than these two phones

  • you cheated the intercept because u would always press the optimus then the intercept afterwards!!!! >:/

  • @gunblazer100 Not really. I've had both and I can say the Optimus is WAY faster;

  • Thanks, that's so helpful on which phone I wanted. Wait.... why do you have two phones!? You should send me one! :)

I kinda want the triumph or whatever the new one is called.

  • I love this phone..BUT im SELLING my OPTIMUS V..if anyone wants it ?? Only had it for like 3 months

  • The optimus is a much better phone than the intercept, When i had my intercept is was slow & i also had the home botton problem ALOT! I had so many problems. For the most part i got that phone because of the keyboard and its look. But now i much rather have the optimus! .

  • thanks SO much for these videos. Im switching soon from metro pcs to virgin because they have better phone prices and plan prices, and was really debating between the two. but im getting the Optimus V for sure.

  • if you check virgin's website, i think the optimus went back down to 150

  • Samsung intercept is shit. DONT BUY IT

  • Comment removed

  • Gotta agree, I own the intercept and it's pretty laggy on Froyo. A good fix for this (if you want to call it one) is using LauncherPro instead and that usually presents a smooth experience. If you install Ubuntdroid: it's just that much better.

Personally, the physical keyboard won me over. A must if you're a Facebook'r on the go. Nothing beats a physical keyboard (unless you have the soon-to-come-out Triumph).

  • Even with froyo on intercpt it still lagges behind on optimus

  • @weedm0nster101 I have the intercept I hate it I want the iphone!

  • Bleh, the triumph is where its at, if u want a VM android phone hold out for the triumph, its coming out this summer

  • Which one would you recommend the most?

  • Intercept sucks watch part 3 :(

  • dont buy the intercept! waste of money!

  • Wait so the intercept doesnt have built in 3g internet only wifi????

  • @Tayla20191 Both phones have 3g and wifi. I just couldn't demo 3g on the Intercept because I had already moved my service plan to the other phone.

  • Intercept FTW

  • @NICKMIST3R intercept sucks

  • @NICKMIST3R are you blind???!!!

  • Intercept is aweful, ive had it for five months and thats when the problems start. it constantly crashes

  • I have both phones. The Optimus from Vigin has it all over the intercept. Love the "swipe" feature for texting. I like Samsung but find the intercept to be just a so-so product.

  • The Optimus has a GPU - the intercept does not.. Thats why its faster.

  • HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH SAMSUNG FASCINATE

  • Does the phone not come with 3G?

  • Do any of these have Flash? How does the Optimus V stack up against Droid, HTC, Iphone....etc?

  • @Sweetiethemane222 I was not able to get Flash to work on either phone. It may be possible, but it's certainly not built in.

  • @Sweetiethemane222 you can simply get flash in the android market

  • nigga just said he connected both the phone to a differnt internet... ova hare lien herd..intercept better

  • ok so someone please help me, i been on sprint for the past 2 years contract i hate contracts! Sprint riped me of bad an charged outrages prices for "extra" data i didn't use. an idk wat to do, i could either go on Verizon with a another 2 year contact an either get the droid or iphone or go to virgin mobile an get the lg optimums shit. ik a droid is way better, but idk wat to do since i hate contracts an only way to get a real nice phone is get a 2 year agreement. some one help please?? :)

  • After watching this video, the Intercept is definitely the better phone.

  • You do notice that when you checked the wifi its going by YOUR internet connect someone with a 50 mbp/s would have 12 mbp/s download instead of 8. get it? so checking wifi didnt really show anything

  • the samsung doesnt have a gpu it will never be as fast as the optimus. i have the optimus. it didnt go up in price for nothing, the phone is very fast. i use a app called tubemate where i can download any video from youtube directly to my sd card. i use it all the time on the 3g signal and never have any problems. it can download vids and mp3s. want more do u want?? just wait until i clock it. oh yeah...

  • ive had ALOT of problems with the optimus ];

  • @iBMX012311 do you transfer the apps to sd? do you clear your memory everyday? im pretty sure it's you cause i have one and besides some slight lag, it's working great. a lot of apps are crap and can eat up your cpu. get watchdog and take care of your memory.

  • @zolfy80 yeah ... its on my sd and i update everytime i can. but i got the itercept tonight anyway. and i love it.

  • no wonder the optimus was faster it had 3g and the intercept didnt!

  • so when are you going to give a more fair comparison since the intercept has now been upgraded to froyo. people are basing their decision of incorrect information

  • @bboyzen1 get optimus v

  • Im still debating do i get the intercept or the optimus? Someone help me decide and give me a few reasons why? And in another video he said the optimus doesnt have a silent/vibrate, is that true? Thanks.

  • Me being a person that constantly downloads apps and sometimes forgets to delete the ones i don't want and I CONSTANTLY go to youtube and other webpages. Which phone is better in this situation?

  • @AtTaCkOfThErEtArDs17 Based on my experience, you'll probably be happier with the Optimus. Youtube performance has been good, and web browsing was much faster for me than it was on the Intercept. I have 30-40 apps installed on my Optimus right now and it's still very responsive.

  • @ivarneli Oh another thing is the messaging like on the iphone? In conversation mode? Because i constantly forget what I sent before and have to go back look what I said THAN reply.

  • @AtTaCkOfThErEtArDs17 Yes, the messaging app keeps track of the conversation.

  • @ivarneli Thanks based on your review i have now made my decision to get the Optimus V

  • @ivarneli which one would you prefer as a everyday phone?

  • @myableu I much prefer the Optimus. The Intercept always felt sluggish and was often unresponsive for several seconds at a time... the Optimus has always been able to keep up with any functions I do on a day-to-day basis. The screen has more pixels, which helps tremendously when viewing webpages. The GPS is more sensitive and acquires a lock on satellites much faster than the Intercept in my experience. (running out of room - more notes in next comment.)

  • I also like the physical buttons of the Optimus -- makes it easier to operate in the dark or without looking at the phone. Since posting this video, the phone prices have changed. Both the Intercept and Optimus are now $199, so the Optimus no longer has the price advantage. However, in nearly every respect I think the Optimus is a nicer phone. I admit I did miss the physical keyboard of the Intercept when I first switched, but I'm now pretty fast with the on-screen keyboard in landscape mode.

  • @ivarneli wat about after the 2.2 update on the intercept which one is better?

  • Where were you located for the 1.3mbps download 3G speed?

  • @write2warriors Tampa, FL. For what it's worth, I just ran the test again and got 822kbps down / 482kbps up.

  • Thank you for these videos! They were exactly what I was looking for to see a good comparison!

  • Thank you for these videos! They were exactly what I was looking for to see a good comparison!

  • Thank you for these videos! They were exactly what I was looking for to see a good comparison!

  • u give a lil more negative on samsung than positive lol

  • Intercept is much better I just got 2.2 on it

  • mYNDJ6VW kickback code for free minutes before activation!

    PS GREAT REVIEW!

  • you sound like my 2nd period teacher :O

  • I still prefer the Intercept. I just bought the phone. the Intercept does not come with Swpe but you can download it. Also the optimus is will last longer because of the slide keyboard.

  • WHEN YOU SHUT YOUR WIFI OFF HOW DO YOU GET THAT TOOL BAR?

  • @stampedvxl Scroll to a launcher screen with at least 1 free row. Touch and hold on the launcher's background image for 1 second. When the menu comes up, select Widgets, and scroll down and select Power Control.

  • I can't wait till we get 2.3 gingerbread I hope many agree

  • 11 megabits? sooo i'm guessing you don't mean megabytes? sorry i don't know the differece

  • @tigermax94 You can get a rough idea of megabytes by dividing megabits by 10.

  • @tigermax94 the correct answer would be divide by 8

  • How much does the optimus cost in total?

  • @MrTheloser66 I got mine at Target for $149+tax a couple months ago.

  • @ivarneli

    ok thanks

  • OPTIMUS REPRESENT!

  • The intercept is a horrible phone. The optimus is a lot better! The intercept gets 2.2 on March 25th. I still doubt it will even come close to the optimus.

  • how does the software work? is it like an iphone where you can update it when the software is available or what. i know nothing about android, and am probably going to be getting this one in the future but not sure how that all works. anyone help?

  • @ImGoinIn3 Yes, you can use the Android Market (their equivalent of the iPhone's App Store) to find, download, and update applications for the phone over wifi or 3g.

  • @ImGoinIn3 Yeah, it's like an Iphone. All your purchases get updates when available and the notification of an update shows on your notification bar. I love Android more than the Iphone. I have an Ipod which is the same as an Iphone without the phone. Android apps can send data to other apps, Iphone/Ipod apps don't do that. Having an Ipod is like living in a cage where I can't do anything I want.

  • BYN0GPoN use this code if you are new to virgin mobile, i think it gives you extra minutes free

  • @13aarom I have the optimus and love it. Its as responsive as top of the line phones and really great size, it is very easy to fit in your pocket

  • i think imma get the LG-Optimist V. Thx for helping me decide!^^

  • does anyone have any of these 2 phones

  • @13aarom I do and im actually selling the Intercept

  • on Q2, lg optimus will get 2.3

  • i don't know much about cell phone but can some tell me that if the higher the android number like 2.2 does that make the phone faster like web loading and download.

  • @21acebig well it doesn't necessarily make it faster, but you do get some added features and maybe bug fixes. pretty much goes the same with any other software upgrade. Hope i helped

  • Idk which phone to get. I really like both phones, Intercept because of keyboard, and optimus V because of 2.2 and faster.

  • On March 25th the Samsung Intercept is getting 2.2 froyo.

  • You must realize that the Optimus is running on Android 2.2, where the Intercept is still running on 2.1. Root 2.2 to the Intercept and then try the exact same things you are now. You'll notice the Intercept would keep up, if not be a bit faster than the Optimus.

  • @mistyrenee19 I hear this a lot, but it doesn't match with my experience. I tried an Intercept running 2.2 and the Optimus side-by-side at a Sprint store, and although 2.2 does help the Intercept a bit, it still lagged behind the Optimus. I haven't seen the incredible speed boosts that some are expecting. Unfortunately I no longer have my Intercept, or I would happily do another comparison with 2.2. Enough people have claimed this that I'm interested in seeing evidence.

  • @mistyrenee19 You are incorrect saying this and the simple reason why you are is simply the weak 16mb of ram with the intercept vs the optimus 512mb of ram. Updating android will barely do anything to change the intercepts crippling ram issue.

  • @mistyrenee19 The Optimus is MUCH faster than than the Intercept even when the Intercept is running 2.2, rooted, and rommed. It has a Dedicated GPU and Modem Processor instantly putting it over the Intercepts CPU Software Rendered GPU.

  • I have been trying to decide which phone to go with. You have been EXTREMELY helpful!! Your very informative and easy to listen to review made my decision much easier. Thank you. :)

  • I have been wanting to get a new Andriod phone cause i want to read ebooks and mp4 or m4v . I am a Verizon user but im thikining about switch to the Vingin mobile and get LG OPTIMUS V but the only thing i dont like is doent have a keypad like Samsung Intercept. How is the response of the LG keypad

    Thanks In advance.

  • @alonsoeldemx The on-screen keyboard is ok, but could be better. The higher-resolution screen of the Optimus will help you with reading ebooks. The decision probably comes down to what you do more: text entry (email/texting/etc) where the Intercept has an advantage, or app usage/web browsing where the Optimus will probably be more pleasant. If in doubt, most Sprint stores have both phones on demo and you can try them out.

  • HELPP I got the optimus v and i love it except that i want to add apps, and it says i need a google account and i made one but every time i try to sign in through my phone it says a connection between google could not be established :\ what do you suggest i do ? Please Someone ANSWER BACK

  • @krazyymunch Do you have Wifi or 3G networking enabled? Are you able to open web pages?

  • @ivarneli i don't have wifi, but i use someone elses, i got my google account up and running but the android market doesn't want to load ....

  • @krazyymunch well u can try signing in on the computer while the micro sd card is in there save it and put back in your fone

  • When activated Enter promo code: IYo4Dcdq

    For 60 MIN. FREE!!!!!!!!

  • ON THE OPTIMUS CAN YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC AND TEXT AT THE SAME TIME ?

  • @v8marvin8v Yes

  • use this kickback code when u activate your phone and get 60 free minutes 3Yse0v6J

  • Do another review when intercept has 2.2 thats when it'll be fair

  • I have a question. My battery is dying so fast because I like to play the apps & get on Face BOok. What is the BEST APP for: Battery Booster (to make it last longer) & What is the BEST APP to KILL APPS or whatever that is still running? So far I just downloaded: Green Power Premium (Battery Save) & Open Advanced Task Killer (to kill any running apps or whatever that is still running.)

Please help. :) Thank you ALL so much!

  • Are both phones brand new? because ive had the intercept for a few months and its a lot slower than when I first got it.

  • @R3VTH3ORY The Optimus was new. The Intercept was a little over a month old, but I had done a factory reset a few days before this video was made, and only a couple apps were installed.

  • This was TREMENDOUSLY helpful. Thank you!

  • can you send wifi with this phones?

  • Comment removed

  • is the lg touch screen pretty responsive? because i hate the rumor touch's screen

  • Another question, lol! What phone do you thing is overall better quality and build? overall, longer lasting phone and durable phone

  • @MrBsmithers24 I personally like the look and feel of the Optimus case better. The case is mostly plastic with just a bit of metal around the top edge and sides, but it feels solid and well built. The Intercept has some silver-colored plastic on it, which I wasn't a fan of. Sprint carries both of these phones, so if you have a Sprint store nearby you can probably see both of these phones side by side and examine the quality for yourself.

  • So one question here, which screen is better? by this, i mean resolution wise, looks wise, and how strong they are. mostly strong and scratch resistant. which one's screen will last longer do you think? thanks!

  • @MrBsmithers24 The Optimus screen is higher resolution (320x480 vs 240x400 on the Intercept) and has a greater range in brightness. Hard to tell how durable or scratch resistant the Optimus screen is, since I've only had it for 2 weeks, but as of right now it still looks as good as the day I bought it. I don't do anything in particular to take care of the screen - it goes straight in my pocket and I don't use a case or screen protector or anything like that.
