  • The part at about 1:12 was just bad ass demonic. Like he'd been seeing weird: The newspaper story about the fire, the CCTV footage of the fire, then his own hand creating fire, but still in that spooky, surreal way. Awesome, not just for the effects, but for the execution of the creative concept AROUND the effects.

  • @marknew91 what an awesome review! Thanks Mark!

  • lol...i dont see Adaptive Muscle Memory and Intuitive Aptitude

  • This is one of the best videos ever! I can see all the hard work you put into this, it really looks great. You're doing an awesome job with these vids!

  • -Chants- One of us! One of us! One of us! One of us! :D

  • hey. I got that ability also!! WTF

  • damn good ive seen a few but that was the best

  • Hey! I love it

Can you do a tutorial, when you burn the chair plz!

  • thats a nice play you have. i think you need to go on a brighter surroundings. the other part of the video is very dark. cant see the image much.

  • Wouw Yoeri.

Ik vind je een held <3

  • got it backwards though. adaptive muscle memory + intuitive aptitude = empathic mimicry

  • funny

  • this is awesome!

  • how did u do that fire effect? i have always wanted to know that trick since seeing Firestarter:Rekindled.

  • that was brilliant, where did you learn that? or are you self taught?

  • learned it myself

  • Heeeeeel netjes gemaakt !

  • ahhhh finally I've looked all over the net for cool effects and u have finally ended my search good job , wish u would one day post a tutorial lol.

  • Wow as cool as the fire was, I think the eye replacement was the most impressive.

    What are you using?

To achieve such a smooth 3d renderable flame seems really complicated.

I'm trying Pillusion and compositing in after effects with flame stock footage, but wow.

    Congrats

  • Thanks man! In the end we're all trickers haha

  • THAT WAS COMPLETLY EPIC but this is one of my pet peves when people get abilities wrong that was empathic mimicry but that was still the best ive seen

  • Use commas and periods please? :) Not sure if that would give your comment any more sense though.

  • read the bio it explains the ability ;)

  • how do you get the fire effect?

  • Perfect!

  • Intuitive Aptitude is understanding how things work. one cant simply replicate an ability by watching a video feed of some one using it. its Much more complicated

  • its a bloody movie

  • Just enjoy the effects.

  • If he has adaptive muscle memory, he wouldn't be able to copy something such as fire. He would only be able to copy physical traits or abilities.

  • The flames, how did you make them? What program? I'm working with my flames in FXhome, it doesn't work out as well as I want it to, I would appreciate if you'd help me :)

  • Mooi gemaakt en nog redelijk geacteerd ook!

    Kudo's

  • Thanks.. it just sucks that I can't always act to my full potential .. just because you usually (in my case anyway) do everything yourself you find camera angles, you produce, film it and visualize stuff in advance for effects you .. your mind is just scattered all over the place especially after 4 - 8 takes

  • nah, your acting is really good considering the main focus, im guessing, is the actual visuals, so i applaud you on the great acting.

  • That's not quite how IA works, otherwise Sylar would have never needed to kill anyone in the first place. He gains abilities by analyzing the brains of evolved humans.

  • what effects do you use they r awesome!

  • Shit men I was close ;)

Wat doe je nu voor opleiding HKU? NFTA?

  • nu niks, wil misschien HKU - scenario schrijven ...

  • wil je niks met special effects doen ? :)

  • Effects is meer een soort van hobby geworden dan wat ik eigenlijk wil doen. Me passie is meer produceren en acteren//

  • vette shit je bent een soort humo unversalis iemand die bijna alles kan doen :D

  • want nog wel mee tog

  • does this comment by any chance mean- effects have become sort of a hobby then what i actually would do. I prefer more of a producer or actor//

    just a guess

  • that's it yes...

  • thats awesome, when is your next video coming out?

  • soon I hope, the weather has to clear up here ...

  • yooo dude what's your age

  • i have a proposition for you. my video should explain all.

  • Nicely done, dude, I love the pyro effect, is amazing

  • deze is keigoed gedaan! super! doe zo voort!!!

  • i wish sylar absorbed abilities with that way:P btw great video

  • *MAY BE SPOILER*

In Volume 3 he does, he takes elle' s abilty like this, only its not sylar like :P so he stops doing it

    :)

  • i think he got the shapeshifting ability like that because there was not any sign of brain removal in the corpse of the shape shifter.

  • nice tv

  • Very nice Yori!

in the next chapter can u try blue fire?

    drew

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Wow!

    5 stars!!

  • Sick! you're still into this!

  • very cool

  • Wow, that is just awesome. The effects when his eyes were copying her power, that was great. Although the armchair didn't get burnt. Hehe.

Hmm, from what I can tell... Adoptive Muscle Memory can only copy physical actions. A fire power like that, it might probably be Adoptive Perception Memory.

From the perspective of the camera, Yoeri is able to copy Pyrokinesis. Even though his body adopted the power, his Intuitive Aptitude allows him to actually use Pyrokinesis.

  • I know that's why I changed it to Intuitive Aptitude.. The story/theorie goes when I absorbed both Adoptive Muscle Memory and Empatic Mimicry I somehow required Intuitive Aptitude.

I know I used the visual style of Monica's Ability to portray Inituitive Aptitude but on some occasions we've seen Sylar's eyes copying events before (not just when he uses Isaac's ability) so that's why I chose this style.

  • Hey Yuri, i've been really impressed with how u put ur videos together and ur improvement since the beginning. Great job.

And i know how hard it is to try and make fire or any bright particle in a heavily shadowed look realistic.

    Again good attempt :)

  • vette shit yuri!

  • keep up the great work yoeri excellent stuff!!

  • awesomeness

  • Alkmaarsche Courant :P

Erg goed ! Love the eye effect :D

  • I like this one....how did you do the lighting for the fire on your hand...the 2nd shoot with the fire

  • Wow dude that was pretty cool! You blew the hand touching the chair shot though - if light that intense is being emitted, it's going to cover a bit more area and there isn't going to be any harsh shadows so close to it.

The other shot with the fire on your hand is almost there - but matching stock footage to movement is so hard to get perfect! Kudos for the IL on your face/body though, that's perfect!

  • Everything you pointed out is true. But some of the things I already knew. The lighting of the chair wasn't gonna work any better due to original shadows from the footage. If I brightened it up it would look to pixally in HD. Which I was going for. As for the rotoscoping and motion tracking it .. I gave it all I had 'n I think it shines through. The stock footage was very tricky but trust me when I say that I used the footage that I had in the best way as possible.

    Apreciating your advice :D

  • (ran out of characters) .. I can tell you look at details just like I do :P

  • Yeah - I'm not happy until things are perfect (practically want to delete my whole youtube account lol). But yeh I can see you did the best you could with what you had, and that's all that matters.

If your working at a vfx house and get some crappy renders from the 3D guys, there's only so much you can do to fix it (i know from experience)!

  • your awesome man, from where did you getthe stock footage

and when your next videos are coming out

  • The next one is going to be a story-one and those take longer to put together. In my new video my family joins me with the acting. You will learn they all have their own abilities.

My invisible cousin returns as well :)

  • Excellent! Now that'll be something I'll really look forward to watching! I can't wait already, you work are always so amazing.

  • I'm looking forward to it! I love your effects and have been subscribing in a year now.. You are my idol, in the VFX world!

I look forward for your story!

  • perfect man. Good job with the reflections and everything!

  • Dude! You continue to AMAZE me with your special effects! You have SERIOUS skills! Keep up the great work man!

  • WOw, Its amazing, I like it, and the eyes looks like Charmed

  • cool!

    Dude it's Intuitive Aptitude

  • very nice work! love your vids, love heroes!

how did you make the fire? incredible! very cool! of course 5*

  • good work there, liked the effects.

i'd just like to point its Intuitive Aptitude

  • Unreal, and it's not just the effects that you do, it's all the right shots that you take, with the panning and zooming. They're all perfectly done. Can't wait for your next one!

  • ah thats great, nice work

  • waauww that was awesome!!

I think you are the best on youtube who makes heroes effects! <33

  • Very cool man!!!!!!!

    AS always an awsome work....
