Thats probably because he's using drop D, if you're going to play soundgarden most of their songs are in drop D tuning, he also played My Wave which is tuned in EEBBBB.

You should do a Nirvana tribute. Not only are they a crucial 'Seattle Sound' band as well, but Kurt's tone was quite dynamic, perfect for showcasing what an overdrive has to offer. Plus, you could pair it with a nice chorus to give us an idea of those tones, too!
