This is NOT a deleted scene, it's a missing scene, there's a difference - this scene was removed from video and DVD releases due to the 'just the way you are' song that's being sung - due to music copyright issues.

UK GOLD broadcast this episode in it's entirety - with this scene.

@Gudgeon18 It IS deleted.. I've got the DVD. On the DVD when they're in the bedroom you hear Rodney saying "Come on then just one quick light ale". The next thing you see is Raquel and the Great Ramondo and Trigger saying "Where have I seen that bird". The whole of the scene when Rodney and Del are talking at the table, the woman singing and Trigger, Boycie and Mike coming in is cut, BUT whenever they show this episode on UK GOLD they never delete this scene.

Spot on. Ive noticed Cut Scenes from other Episodes or Voice Overs to cover the politically Incorrect phrases from the 80's.

Series 6 for Example when Rodney's asked Cassandra to Dance, they cut half the scene out and change the music for the parts which didnt have speech....

@wolvesfansupermick You're right in that this scene isn't deleted from the episode when it's shown on TV, but it is deleated on the DVD release by the BBC which is odd. I wish the BBC would release this episode on DVD with this scene still in the episode as the bit when Rodney asks where Alan is to which Boycie replies that Alan copped an unfortunate whelk is funny.

When the BBC released this episode on DVD they cut out the scene that I mentioned, the only reason that I can come up with is that the BBC wouldn't pay for rights to the song that the singer was singing.

It's not cut on the tv version.

No, the g.o.l.d version is untouched. The DVDs should be complete and uncut, unfortunately the beeb won't put their hands in their pocket to pay back all their loyal fans.

hehe i met them all during filming of this, the police station during this ep was two doors away from my house, i met them in the market in Dumpton (Ramsgate). In Bembom brothers margate (thats the fun park).. Played a fruit machine with David jason in Ramsgate pleasureama, which isnt there now :o( as it burnt down, the police station is not there now either its owned by Frank, a night club owner here. I have Del, rodneys, boycies, Triggers and more Autographs from the meets Terrific times.

This is the version I have. I think I recorded it right of the TV though. Jolly boys outing- does it get better than this? I particularly love the scene were Rodney has a football and pretends to commentate "Ruud Gullit!, no problem" then kick the ball and it hits a policeman in the head. LOL!!! OFAH Forever! :)

This should clear things up:

This special was edited on the Region 2 DVD release for contractual reasons. The scene where Del and Rodney are eating scampi at the Mardi Gras club was cut due to the track "Just the Way You Are", performed by the female singer in the background. The BBC refused to pay the rights for it to be used on distribution, therefore approximately seven minutes were taken out of the DVD release. Yet the scene can be seen in repeats on UKTV Gold.

This is from the Christmas Special of 1990 or 1991, I can't remember. The christmas special came on G.O.L.D a couple of days ago and this scene was in it. But the one shown on G.O.L.D didn't end there it went on to show the rest of the special. Maybe it was originally deleted but later put back in because the copyright asses came to their senses?
