  • the spiders look tasty

  • 1:35

    O.O

    Is it safe?

  • moreoverm why doesn the big spider care when her young is getting eaten

  • natgeo's ways to video animals are weird...

how can they video the inside of the burrow? or something like that

  • .interesting note; according to charles darwins made, darwin s last words were "oh god forgive me, i made a mistake"

  • @Uhmari

He wasn't talking about evloution, he was talking about what evolution theory did to the religion.

Moreover, you know, science don't have prophets. If he brings a new good theory, then after say it's false for some reason, we won't blindly believe it's false just because he said it. truth is a matter of fact, not a matter of people.

  • the argument of evolution being real is false and true. In the aspect that we can from single cell organisms there has never been found on form of cell or evidence of such going from cell life, to animal life. It does not exist. in the aspect that things adapt to its surroundings its scientific fact.in short, we dident evolve from cells, God created us, but we have the ability to adapt to some degree though nothing in a major case has ever been prove

  • @Uhmari

You say nothing has never been proved? First go learn about science and stop believing and stop believing all what your creationist biology professor tells you.

Then hox can you ask for proof then explain all by a theory based on absolutely nothing.

  • WTF, how do they get cameras in the ground without disturbing the chameleon??

  • Hahaha it's alive for 10 minutes and it's eating spiders for breakfast.

  • woah! Chameleons have a 1 year egg time =o

    didn't know that!

  • God, when that baby cam is eating all those baby spiders, the massive spider does nothing.

  • chameleon r the best

  • stoners of the animal world. i love them!

  • Chameleons are awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lightning tongue of Doom!

  • 2:29 Look at that big spider right behind the baby chameleon! I would be so scared if I were him :P

  • Baby Chameleon : "Who is my mom anyway?"

  • omg. those baby chameleons look soo cute.

  • - orphants -

  • GREAT VEDIO !

  • WOW it is amazing... they just now hatched and they know how to get food and climb on trees... who said God doesn't exist?!

  • if it's genetic evolution... how did the first thing on earth know how to survive. Think about it.

  • @ChunderChunk evolution has already been proven false dumbass.

  • @xXGhostReaverXx By whom? And with what solid evidence? Because I can give you several real time examples of species evolving to adapt to a changing environment.

People who say that kind of thing have never actually understood evolution. That's the biggest problem. As soon as people really understand what it is they agree it's real. You can especially tell when they think evolution created the first cell. Toootally different concept.

  • @ChunderChunk nothing to do with god? are u stupid or what?

  • @ChunderChunk Your no authority.

  • @ChunderChunk yea!!! evoultion pwns stupid creatism!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ChunderChunk , think before saying "nothing to do with God" because this amazing and miraculous design cannot be done without a disigner. it much easier for a wise guy to believe that this amazingly balanced and absolutly perfect nature has been created by God than to believe it has been designed without a doer.!!!

The ability of nature to be developed by it's own is one of the strongest miracles of God... just think of it.

  • @ChunderChunk nice...so who made the first animal beginning the evolution?

  • @EyalSpirit What does God have to do with them fetching food and climbing right after birth? It's called instinct, they don't need to think about it, kind of like you don't need to think about hearing, you just do it. Oh, and yeah, it IS amazing.

  • I'm definitely getting my kid a chameleon. Now it is time for me to find my own mate :(

  • The young chameleons are soo cute!! It's a sad thing though that the mother doesn't stick around, it would be a good thing if she stuck with her young. (Sigh) Typical reptile I suppose, they lay their eggs and then leave their young to fend for themselves, well they're not like warm blooded animals like lions or wolves or bears or gorillas or anything. But either way, reptiles are still cool!! I love lizards best of all, that's pretty much it. See ya!

  • @joejar5 white striped gecko's aka skunk gecko's look after there eggs and young. and a few others :)

  • @joejar5 i pretty sure crocodiles stay with their young

  • @joejar5

Chameleons (like most reptiles) don't need care from their mother when they're baby or young

Their life and their food is just like the adults'

  • I want one a baby one i had aone when i was like 5-6 it crawled onto my shoulder out of the wild back home and it never left i miss him/her

  • i dont like the narrator...

  • All animals think.

  • That's all instinct smart one, instinct means they live exactly that way, unlike humans which never use instinct, we can think for ourselves, and we can decide, bees and ants just do what nature made them to do, nothing else.

  • @megamannt125 Read The Parrot's Lament

  • Yeah big animals such as dogs and monkeys, but smaller animals like small reptiles and fish, they rely completely on instinct, and don't even get me started on bugs, there isnt a single bit of though in those, just evil mindless little killing creatures.

  • Takes one to know one.

  • If a something has a brain, it has the ability for consciousness->awareness->the ability to determine conclusions about one's environment->thought. Q.E.D.

  • TOMORROW I WILL GET ONE OF THAT

  • im geting a cmelon soon cant what

  • LOL at your grammar.

  • Asshole*

I feel sorry for you :(

  • im blocking you user =D

  • Kthnxbye

  • i love chameleons. i had a pet chameleon named Gypsy for 2 1/2 years.

And my chameleon was so tame she would eat right out of ur hands.

It was 2 cool. But when she died, my mom and I (im 11, 2009) assumed that she died of impaction.

  • A Year??

  • There actually super intelligent with a IQ of over 4001!!!

  • How the fuck is the baby supposed to know that there are insects after the rain?

  • well its natural instinct lol :D its just like how come babies know when to start moving :D

  • Oh and did I forget, the chameleon babies can't dig well, so they need rain to soften the soil, like it says.

  • Because of instinct, unlike humans most animals can't think, they live on instinct.

  • as long as animals have brain they think+ instinct not just instinct

  • Besides, its not like they are having thoughts like "Where do the insects come from?" or "Why do I want to eat the insects?" Anything with a brain must be capable of (probably extremely limited) thought. The rules of human thought might not exactly apply in other organisms. Intelligence is too much of a anthromorphised and vague concept to correctly place on anything but ourselves.

  • wow! nice video, thanks for sharing :)

  • wow a whole year to hatch!

  • i just to have a chameleon i think it was still a youngster by the size of it.. but than one day it died ppl told me that they are really delicate animals wich are not the type to be touching all the time is that true?

    one year to hatch WOW>

    cool creatures

  • Did you know that a completely Blind chameleon will still change to colors that match its environment.

  • For the record at 1:12 in this video National Geographic leaves out the fact that the chameleon changes it's color also from its environment.

Temperature, light, mood, and environment, making it possible for the chameleon to change its skin color with its environment and surroundings. As for chameleons using camouflage, what about when you put a chameleon up against a color and it happens to change that color, is this a coincidence or can they blend in, humans are still researching this.

  • perhaps...and I say PERHAPS...they're doing it just for show...

  • oye y los camaleones todos ponen los huevos bajo tierra? porfavor urgente

  • pues creo k si.

  • Soooooooo cuuuuuuuute.

  • wow it takes a year for the Chameleon to hatch?

  • NOBODY MOVE! I dropped one and it's invisible.... -krunch- FOUND HIM!

  • seems to be the smartest animal åäö

  • smarter than you then!

  • anyone know how to make a red chameleon

  • I don't think the chameleon have red pigment in their skin.

  • What does he say at 1:20~

    Temperature, Light....and what?

  • Reality9O - i think he said "mood"

  • Oh yeah that sounds more like it haha, thanks baileytehkid.

  • Mood lol.

  • HEAD SHOT

  • ok look i need help and this is COMPLETLY SERIOUS i know that there is a breed of chamealion that births live young so if i have that chamelion which i think i do from what im awair of they drop a sack with a baby in it but do they have empty ones like a period or ... cus i was holdin mine and and it either took a slimy grey turd or a egg help me please (and it was NOT small but i dont have a guy around and neather did the friend i got it from so help help help pls

  • Gotta love how the big spider just doesn't care.

  • I found 2 long time ago in the forests of Hawaii when I went camping with my friends. It was by a suprise. I found 2 girls then we let one go and we took one with us. I left it in the tent and when I woke up it was still there. It was sleeping on the screen of the tent's door. haha.

  • HOLY FUK THATS A HUGE ASS SPIDER!

  • Holy crap chameleons are freaking awesome

  • I might get one soon. =)

  • me too!! :D i cleaned the whole house from top to bottom, and when my parents come home im gonna beg. lol

what was hanging off of thelittle one at 1:28?

  • balls

  • Looked like the remains of its yolk sac. All animals in eggs have one that nourishes them as they continue to develop after the egg is laid.

    What cute little babies!

  • Unfortunately, Chameleons will die if you try to keep them, because they will get very stressful in small spaces and they also need a real environment which humans can only create in zoos. plus, you're going to have to catch loads of bugs everyday!

  • hahahaha .

    oldsters :P

  • hahaha. tongue of doom

  • dont keep chameleons in tanks.. they need screen enclosures so theres flowing air. if you've never owned a reptile previously dont eget one they are not a begginers lizard.. and to start out get a veiled chameleon they can handle the most stress. chameleons are pricey and die easily dont buy them on whim

  • really! LOL! my older bro bought a cham. for his 1st lizard! his friend had an older one and gave it to my bro, he has 2. then the 2nd one died:( he then, got a baby cham. and a bearded dragon!:)

  • chameleons powa!

  • lol why am I watching this

  • Great comment...i also dont even know why i wrote Chameleon on the search bar. =/

  • um because chameleons are AWESOME!

  • LOL yeah...

  • yea me niether

  • how much did it cost

  • can you get these as pets?

  • yh just get a tank with setup

  • As said by other members, you can't have a chameleon in a tank. You need a tall, screen enclosure. Not only does it provide better air flow but it's also better for them. They see their reflections in the glass and it causes stress and aggressive behaviour. And if they attack their reflections and hurt their tongues they can't eat.

  • i love Chameleons <3

  • This commentator is horrible. Also, several points that were put into the script were not correct and the chameleons were obviously stressed from the photographers (check out their black spotting- I am surprised the female layed at all and wasn't scared away from nesting)

  • If i was that baby, I would keep my eye on that big spider.

  • learn something new every day, ay
