Don`t misunderstand me... I`m truly impressed by her but if she`s as gifted as you say, would it matter at what age she played? Why train her that early to be all adult-like?
@Philosophie09 I obviously can't speak for all the piano-playing children of the world, but I started playing just before I turned five. I *loved* it. It didn't necessarily mean I smiled my way through every recital - I got nervous from time to time like everyone does. But I had a love for it, and my family pushed me to excel because they knew that my enjoyment of it would only improve with ability and time. I am a piano major in college, and to this day, I feel blessed to have found my passion.
At first, I thought she says “Listen!” or something like that. But now I find out she says “すわる(Suwaru)” in Japanese to that woman in black, which means “Sit down!”. Soooooooo cuuuuuuute!!!!!
@Philosophie09 I would agree with you if she looked dutiful and stiff. But she is amazingly into the phrasing for a kid so young. I'm not convinced she isn't having fun, or that she would have more fun just running around. I agree that all work and no play would be harsh -- but would you take a gifted kid's obviously loved instrument of expression away from her because she's too small by some arbitrary standard and "should" just be running around like a little wild creature?
