  • Bravo! Beaucoup de souvenirs reviennent avec ce chant, surtout par une telle bonne performance! Merci!

  • Merci beaucoup de vos compliments!

  • i have my exam in a month.. if i fail i will have to start all over again as the pieces have changed!!! i need her skill!!

    how were her aural/sightreading/scales?

  • Good luck in your exam. I'm sure you won't fail. It's annoying when it's the last time the pieces can be used for the exam and it does put the pressure on even more. Be positive and you'll be fine. My daughter scored very high in the aural and was fine with the scales but she has always had problems with the sight-reading part of the tests so her low score in that was expected.

  • ive got mine in a church hall in DECEMBER. cold, horrible and COLD.

  • Are you playing this on the organ? I heard it was written for organ. I hope your fingers don't get too cold!

  • no. its in the modern hall bit of the church out the back.

  • i did the same peice for my greade 3 exam :) got 28/30 for this piece and got a distinction overall

i'm about grade 6 standard by now but i'm being forced to take the grades one by one lol

  • Well done on your distinction! That's brilliant! My daughter has had a break from doing exam pieces since she took her grade 3 in March and she's enjoyed just learning to play long non-exam pieces without any exam pressure. She is only just now starting to learn grade 5 as her teacher thought she could miss out grade 4 but he did say it will be ages before she can take her grade 5 (which she is fine about).

  • goof for her :) have you heard about the syllabus changes yet? quite a lot of drastic changes because the jump from grade2 to 3 was a bit too big... grade 4 is a breeze in comparison now

  • Hi Jasonrulezz, no I didn't know about the syllabus changes. That's interesting...If the grade 4 is a breeze in comparison, I hope they don't make the jump from grade 4 to 5 too huge!

  • very good, just a few tips for improvement: 1)the whole piece is piano apart from bars 17,18 and 21 so it should sound piano.2)you should keep your fingers on the notes at the end of bars 8,16 and the last bar for 2 seconds, you only held them for 1 second

  • Thanks for the tips. I will let her know.

  • As you progress up the grades, you need to start swaying instead of staying still to get a rhthym to the music

  • Thanks for your tip, I'll let my daughter know but I think she's a bit shy about swaying! She feels a bit silly! Perhaps she'll be less shy when she gets older.

  • is there a nid to pedal??? in my exam book, it did state that it nids to pedal....anyway great in dynamics!!!!! i am also doing this for my grade 3 exam this year in july.....

  • Her teacher told her to use the pedal as it makes the piece flow better. Good luck with your grade 3 in July!

  • oh...... but if u pedal, will it affect the marks?????? wad other songs is she doing????

  • I don't know what you mean if using the pedal will affect the marks. All I know is her teacher taught her to play it with the pedal and it sounds good with the pedal. She has already done her grade 3 exam and got a Merit. Her other pieces were: Allegro in F K.15a by Mozart and Bonny Bobby Blue Toe.

  • well nvm...

  • oh.....and i kinda noticed there maybe a mistake somewhere she played......... has she taken her grade 3 exam??????

  • Hi Cutegal253: Where is the mistake bit? I'm not aware she made a mistake. Yes, she has already taken her exam in March and she passed with Merit.

  • thanks! great playing by the way..... well, wad are the 3 other songs she is playing????

  • oh....thanks anyway!

  • thanks!

  • Beautifully played. I've chosen this piece for my grade 3 exam in December this year too. Your expression was particularly good, I thought - especially for one so young. Onwards and upwards!

  • Thank you for your positive comments. I wish you luck in your grade 3!

  • watched this with a student who is doing this for grade three. I have used your version as the best ! well rounded , great contrast ..god tempo and i like the use of pedal at the start

very very well played..have you done your exam yet ??

  • Thank you so much for your lovely comments. Yes, my daughter did her exam in March and got a merit. Credit goes to her teacher too.

  • Well done on getting that merit! I just did my grade 3 in march and got a merit as well! I did this song, allegretto and bonny bobby bluetoe.

  • Well done on getting that merit! I just did my grade as well and got a merit as well! I did this song, allegretto and Bonny Bobby Bluetoe. Also i really want to thank you of putting this song on because when i watched this when i was practicing i didn't relise that you are supposed to pause in some of the parts for a little longer!

  • Very well done on your merit too!! Brilliant! I'm glad watching this helped you but my daughter only played it the way her teacher taught her, so the credit must go to her piano teacher! Thanks for your comments!

  • Congratulations to your daughter on her merit! I'm playing this for my Grade 3 piano exam in about five weeks; it's a beautiful piece, and she played it very well - it's lovely!

  • Thanks very much for the lovely comments. I wish you all the best in your exam, I'm sure you'll be fine! GOOD LUCK!
