  • I will now have nightmares

  • ooh, guns too

  • Of course, maybe it's the creepy guy running after u & the graffitti everywhere

  • haha much music woot toronto

  • They're not my favorite band anyhow, but some stuff they've made is pretty good.

  • David Bowie and Brian Eno both wrote this song :)

  • That's right. Run little looter. An Americans caught your scent.

  • The best quality v=hblB886f5iQ

  • David Bowie is afraid of Christians

  • @tweeber69 and retards, oh wait

  • Bowie is a genius. And not just cause I'm Jhonny.

  • That has to be the most questionable facial hair I've ever seen on Trent's face. Holy fuck.

  • @gschl1 It's cause David was thinking,"Screw you, Reznor! I'm going to write a song with Marilyn Manson! He and understand each other better!"

  • To be fair, they did add "I'm afraid of the world", but the message still appears "cringe at the US", unfortunately.

  • Say it ain't so, NIN. Most of their music is good, but don't tell me they've gone on this self-hating American trend too.

  • @MyTotalRemedy Dude this video is over a decade old.

  • Trent Reznor was hating Americans before it was cool

  • @MyTotalRemedy Dude this song is 15 years old.. where have you been? lol. And besides that, it was written by David Bowie, not Trent Reznor. There are several versions of this song, this was just a remix with NIN.

  • @MyTotalRemedy >saying NIN is good while not realizing what Trent writes about

    >listens to downward spiral doesn't realize what lyrics mean

    >insert musically oblivious grade 8 and slowpoke meme here

  • @iiinitr0

Listen, not every song they've made had the liberal agenda as a theme. This one did.

  • @MyTotalRemedy I saw the phrase "liberal agenda" and stopped caring

  • @iiinitr0

This one is just blatant about anti-American shit.

  • The thought of Newt Gingrich becoming president has me playing this song on replay....be afraid, very afraid.

  • @MrXanderii never gonna happen. Half the republicans wont even vote for him.

  • FUCK THE MIDDLE EAST!

NOT THEIR PROBLEM! WE JUST CARE ABOUT OUR HEDONISM.

    SINCE 1945

  • WHEN DO JEWS AND ARABS LIKE EACH OTHER?

WHEN ITS ABOUT SEX, DRUGS AND MONEY.

  • EUROPEAN GIRLS ARE AFRAID OF THE AMERICAN JEWISH AND ARAB PAPAS!

  • Don't be afraid, Mr Bowie. We are quite harmless! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  • Welcome to America

  • Bowie just does not age. He is still hot!

  • @Kelebrinlith "I am more afraid of fag like bowie"

    "EU morons"

"I love to see it all going up in one big pile of shit"

No wonder everyone hates us. You should be kicked out of the US of A because you, sir, embarrass us.

  • @bf2lover42 Cock biters like you are the reason for it. I embarrass you? You low life OWS whore! You can suck shit through a straw and pretend it is a happy meal. Fuck off!

  • @Kelebrinlith >hates Europe

    >hates Americans

No wonder people complain about us all the time.

  • @bf2lover42 dont worry we dont all hate you, just the people that run you because there interfering dick heads, the rest of the world has no real hatred towards your people, sincerly Ireland

  • @trancelover96 Ireland, huh? Insignificant island of child-killing terrorists, god superstition, and liquorheads. Erin go blah, Papist.

  • @daveinvirginny terrorists very very few, child killing non existant, god superstition only in the over 50's age group.liquor heads ? fuck yeah we are and proud of it,im 15 and i could drink most americans under the table so you can just pog mo hon

  • @daveinvirginny besides where are you from and whats so great about your nation, cause no matter where your from your embarrasing them with your arogance

  • @daveinvirginny I'm irish (having no part in this argument btw). Child killing terrorists? if you're talking about the IRA(cunts), they're are an illegal minority group of dissidents, who've not bombed anywhere in a long time. God superstition? I don't know anyone apart from the elderly that believe in God. Liquorheads? The irish consume less alcohol than most countries in the EU. In the top 15, Irish are 13th in terms of alcohol consumed. They didn't even cut the top 10 consumers. suck it.

  • @daveinvirginny your ignorance and prejudice say more about you than your little accusations. and back again to the child killing thing.. the english starved the irish during the famine, millions of adults and children died because the english were secretly exporting the only food we had out of the country and had the irish work and build roads to stop them from noticing. We're now a neutral country, and we don't get involved in wars like the rest of you. keep your opinion to yourself.

  • @JamesCmuse why are you bringing England into this? that guy's American, so you need to take that chip off your shoulder, and slander his country if you've got rage to vent. seriously, I'm tired of all this bullshit nationalism on Youtube.

  • @MadOldPete only giving examples, I have no problems with the English at all, he was just bringing up the whole 'baby killing' thing and it got on my nerves. And you're not the only one who's tired of it, but I just can't stand prejudice and such ignorance. My apologies, dude..

  • @JamesCmuse fair nuff, it's just that if you join in and make generalizations, you end up pissing off people who'd otherwise be on your side

  • @MadOldPete

If your refering to Bowie, is actually english. But I do agree with the bull nationalism on here.

Really people! This is a site for watching, WATCHING, video's of things!

  • @DarkSVKnight yeah, I know, I was talking about daveinvirginny. some arsey American.

  • @trancelover96 Did you hear about SOPA? An agency of the US government was pressuring Spain to pass a similar bill against piracy.

Bunch of idiots, trying to rule over everyone.

  • @bf2lover42 kind of stupid the way they say piracy is theft, theft is seing an item and taking it,piracy is seing an item and dublicating it leaving the original completely intact

  • @trancelover96 Piracy is theft.

  • @alexwilsonNC do explain

  • @trancelover96 Do I need to?

  • @alexwilsonNC ya dont have to do anything

  • @Kelebrinlith fag? wow, your just jealous, u can't get any person to love; and he can get both guys and girls(in fact, everyone in his time loved him, and i'm 15 and he is still a legend, he's my #1 fave); and seriously, america is stupid..(and yes, i am american)

  • it's weird U awallys know someone stare U from behind

  • I'm afraid of Americans, too... everyday. But I live in the midwest :( lol Maybe come St. Patty's Day and at the local pub I'll think differently. Until then... I am still afraid.

  • wow im 9 years and im a amircan

  • @jksneakypants

    I'm 24 and I'm British! =)

Good taste in music little man!

  • That will teach you to walk in Manhattan you british twat. J/K . great vid

  • Dear God, I would love to stalk David Bowie.

  • @hellchild65 You are one optimistic son of a bitch, you know that? Right down to your screenname.

  • Dear God, I would love to be stalked by Trent Reznor.

  • @papierdragon I'd even walk superrrr slow ;)

  • i wouldnt mind being in a car with trent :)

  • Looking forward to hearing what Reznor cooked up for the new David Fincher movie

  • @foodgasmsarebonerifc Bowies a faggot and anyone who likes sucks with him.

  • @Kelebrinlith But yet, you continue to troll his video.

  • Turns out the only thing that actually guarantees rights is the PEOPLE constantly standing up for themselves and fighting for those rights. A piece of paper guarantees nothing but lip service.

  • I pretty much think you are just an ignorant slut. IN the US we can and do say anything we want. We can fight out government and have the constitutional right to do so. And there is still no other country on earth that put that into writing. Not England, Not China, Russia, Japan, Any middle East country. Most of the places in the world do not have a set human rights agenda. But them being 12 or so mentally might be a big draw back in the real world. Cunt!

  • @Kelebrinlith There's no need to get nasty I was just voicing my opinion, which you so proudly state your country allows people to do. There are many countries that have in fact "put it that into writing" through a Bill of Rights. The UK, France, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa just to name a few. I suggest you look it up and learn a bit about this topic. And don't say "cunt" it is such a vile word...

  • @JLScarlettt You are still so wrong! I believe it is you who needs a dose or reality. Words only have the power you give them. "Sticks and stones" can hurt and if the word fits you own it. I have been in all those countries except Africa and there is NO liberty in any of them. Even in Australia you have become so fucked up you can go to jail for denigrating a diplomat. And if must get permission to protest if they grant. Australia has become a land of useless cunts! Cowards all!

  • @Kelebrinlith Unfortunately anyone who holds power has the option of treating anything "put into writing" as just that, a piece of paper with some writing on it. Which is why even though America has a very clearly written 1st Amendment, its still able to treat protesters and other people expressing their right to free speech as common criminals, much harsher than almost every other first world country which might not even HAVE a guaranteed right to free speech.

  • @Superabound2 Are you 12? Do your parents know you are on the adult channel? The protests across the United states went untethered for 75 days to 90 days they broke all the laws regarding assembly. But in the name of free speech no one was harassed until they become violent or began blocking traffic. Free speech does not cover the 50 laws that they broke and are still some morons hanging out. I think you get back to your Barbies by cracky!

  • @Kelebrinlith "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." According to that any "laws regarding assembly" are by default illegal in the first place. And if youre talking about park ordinances, im pretty sure the US Constitution overrides those. OWS hasnt been violent.

  • Bowie has always been a fag and he should be afraid of America any intelligent country on earth should fear America and leave us the fuck alone. All countries indoctrinate their youth to support the system in charge. At least here if we don't like it we can actually them to shove their heads up their asses. No other country on this planet allows vocal public political dissent. No other country has Rights Guaranteed them. Be fucking afraid of American we are free to do as we damn well please.

  • @Kelebrinlith First of all the US is the one interfering with other countries so telling them to "leave you the fuck alone" is very hypocritical. "No other country allows public political dissent" and "no other county has rights guaranteed", wow this is why people think Americans are ignorant, self centred and arrogant. I think you'll find that all Western democratic countries allow for political protest and give guaranteed rights to their citizens...

  • @Kelebrinlith I'd like it noted that I am in no way anti-American, I have a lot of respect for the US, I'm just pointing out the ludicrous points made in your little rant.

  • david has a few good points in here talking about how all americans boys care about is p*ssy and cars, and that is the case in a huge swath of america but there is an awakening going on here too and people are waking up to see the america they was to taught to believe in is a LIE! if we're starting to wake up and realize we been lied to then why can't all of you smarter non americans see that MOST of americans dont not think we own the world. most americans don't hate brown people

  • Trent looks like he is about to eat Bowie >:PP

  • that's funny how they both have the same little goatee..

  • what are whats wrong with them go any one you you dont like

  • of what

  • amazing video lol

  • In this song 'Johnny' refers to general americans. Johnny wants some women, johnny wants to suck on the coke... Johnny wants brain, johnny wants pussy and cars... No one needs anyone and they just all pretend. These lyrics are criticizing americans on their life styles. Selfish.. and wanting cars and girls... that's why David Bowie wrote this lyric.

  • Good grief people, just shut up and enjoy the Bowie. ><

  • @witchapparatus the american is strong with this one...

  • I'm a fraid of americans too :D

  • Why allways some idiots gets in this kind of discusion. Wheredo you find conection bethween God, muslims and this song???

  • Vevo isn't badass enough to upload this song. Nor the rest of David Bowie's best songs. (: Thanks for uploading this Boxingclever!

  • Trent you crazy fanboy. lol

  • To be AFRAID ='s WEAKNESS

I've always loved Bowie, but... I don't like the crazy gun insinuations here. I don't think guns are "the problem". Yes I know this is a work of art, so I won't take it too deep... just sayin'. I'm an American... not proud of my government one bit, but proud to see that more & more Americans are becoming "awakened" and want "real change" & real FREEDOM!

Catchy song... Bowie always remains youthful, fresh & modern! : )

  • This video is too much for me. Two of my greatest musical hero's of all time acting as arch enemies. In a kick ass video. In a kick ass song. Too much of a good thing!

  • @Muskateering Well said

  • lol, he is like "Omg, is that Trent Reznor chasing me? Ruun!"

  • I love this... Very well done.. Davif bowie is forever changeing. And yet stays the same. I will forever be a fan. Just hope he keeps going.

  • k estilazo tiene este hombre por dios.. k temazo, cocktail de primera

  • Afraid of Johny? Dont come here now lol.

  • Everybody know god is an English man so that's wrong.

  • @SuzLa1 God? An english man? You..you are messed up in the head. God isn't a mortal being as a man is. He is supposed to be an "Immortal Being in which dwells in Heaven.". And if your worried about people saying something against God's name, then Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie are the last two people you want to be listening to.

  • Straight american here, who would ONLY go gay for Bowie...!...

    I'm afraid of Americans myself!

I don't blame Bowie one bit!

(I just got done checking out a video discussing if water boarding is actually "torture" or not... so I am ESPECIALLY afraid of [other] Americans right now...)

    O.O

By the way: Bowie is still the ONLY guy I would go bi for. I KNOW he is bi.

"John, I'm only dancing" spells it out quite clearly.

  • I love my country(USA)....as for the ones in charge.....hmm....well....no comment lol

  • I'am afraid of Amercan's, as well.

  • Best music video ever

  • This song rocks, but I don't get the lyrics. Bowie must have been hassled by too many Jesus freaks when he visits the US.

  • Damn, how is Bowie still rocking it? :)

  • I think the "God is an American" line actually refers to how centralised Americans seem to feel they are. Even your poliotical leaders cite God as being on their side. America just has a very top dog persona in everything they do, which is what makes them scary. Its like a child who tortures insects and sees other children no differently.

  • @meesternixon Just about every nation has said that line "God is on our side" throughout history (God being the deity they happen to believe in; not just the Christian God). It's how they win the support of their people when they do fucked up shit. But American politicians do not say "God is on our side" nearly as much as these Muslim wackos that seem to believe that they are the chosen people.

  • @warhammer2000 ~ apparently you haven't been listening to the teatards all over the airwaves or read what is left of print media who scream just that on every media source they have access to... There is not a single country today with a "chosen deity" that doesn't claim their version is the only right one and so is on their side.

Hell, it gets down to "Republican Jesus" vs. "Socialist (Biblical) Jesus" and the Muslims have NOTHING on the U.S. for invoking a deity to justify bloodshed and bull.

  • @kroywomen Last time I checked Christians weren't stoning women for being raped or cutting of their noses and ears for trying to leave an abusive husband. Christians don't force women to cover themselves and justify beating them when they break that law. Maybe you should do a little reading

  • @warhammer2000 ~~ Apparently, YOU are the one who needs to do some reading. The Christian past is full of those types of behaviors. Now, the hardcore "Christians" want to lock their women away, make them baby factories (including forcing women to have babies as a result of rape/incest)f, force their particular version of the world on everyone else via attempts at religious education in schools. Believe me--they are trying hard if you look at the GOP right now. And some DO beat their women...

  • @warhammer2000 ~~ BTW, not all Muslims (just as not all Christians) do what you say. There are some extremists in every religion, so to say they ALL do it is BS. I know a lot of Muslims and work with several. I have never seen a one in a burkha or bruised up from being slapped around and they all have their noses and ears. OTOH, I have seen more than a few of my Christian co-workers with black eyes and wearing long sleeves because they were late getting dinner cooked.

  • @kroywomen You are correct in that not ALL muslims or christians participate in these horrible acts, but aside from the occasional asshole who beats his wife for cooking dinner late, you don't see christians stoning women or beheading them, or mutilating them, all of which occur in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and other musilm countires to this day. Sure there are abusive husbands, but that has nothing to do with religion.

  • @kroywomen Still, there are extremists in any religion. But the argument was about how muslims are a medieval race of savages who use God to justify their brutality...if you must defend them feel free, but don't try to sit there and tell me or anyone else that christians are worse. Show me one christian group that is murdering their own followers for violating arcane outdated laws. I understand that in medieval time Christians did horrible things, but that stopped...the muslims STILL DO IT.

  • @warhammer2000 Its people like you who instigate communities to commit such acts in the first place. If christian communities *you have in mind* appear more peaceful to you its because 1) they keep their violence out of sight 2) you are biased 3) extremists like you aren't taken seriously.

Atrocities are still committed in the name of christ on a vast scale in the third world, actually. Economical conditions are a much better predictor of this. But dont let that ruin your latent crusader fetish.

  • @wishcraft4u2 how about an example of the atrocities that christians are committing on a vast scale? And if they are "keeping it hidden" as you say, how do you know they are doing it? You can see what the muslim extremists are doing on a daily basis on ANY media outlet regardless of bias. I'm no extremist either, I'm just a guy who has trouble understanding why people like you want to defend a religion that has openly vowed to destroy our country.

  • @warhammer2000 The LRA is probably the most conspicuous example. I'd also argue that there is a tendency in south american right wing ideology to resort to a defender of the faith type argument in their conflicts with socialist ideologies. Those have been known to become pretty nasty. But judging by the tone of your argumentation ("... vowed to destroy our country" - same country? really?) I feel you might actually start congratulating them. Anyways, remember Franco was only 40 years ago...

  • @wishcraft4u2 The LRA are one of the mist difficult to understand terrorist organizations in the world because while they "claim" to be a fundamentalist Christian group that abides by the 10 commandments, they operate as merely a bunch of thugs whose only goal seems to be to terrorize the local population and loot their homes. While we're on the topic, there will always be extremists in any religion. But none of them get the support from mainstream Chistian groups like the Musilms seem to get.

  • @warhammer2000 You might find that these militant islamic movements dont always play by their own rules either. But when christians do it suddenly they're false christians.

Also, look at what kinds of regimes have enjoyed public support in recent American history. Among them a lot of unsavory conservative regimes in south america. Oh, and the mujaheddin, lol. And no, that wasnt just "oh but they are fighting our enemies". No. They used to be "the good guys".

  • @warhammer2000 You know what kind of a person Franco was? He had dinner with a priest every sunday. He also did things like, round up masses of civilians suspected of being socialists and had them shot. The issue of his christian conscience came up at a certain point, anyways, he responded that he had prayed and that god had actually told him it was ok for him to do this so he had not a single shred of guilt about it whatsoever. As in: it wouldnt even require a confession to be absolved.

  • @wishcraft4u2 As far as Franco is concerned, he was a dictator, and they tend to say just about anything to justify the crimes he was attempting to get away with (as I said back to my original statement). Of course he had dinner with a priest every Sunday, I bet if one ever refused, they would find themselves lining up with the socialists waiting to be shot.

  • @warhammer2000 Youre just pulling that out of your ass. Franco was immensely popular with a large part of the Spanish population, mostly conservatives with an equally conservative christian theology. Its almost certain this priest was one of his best friends. Why say this? You might as well claim either simply didnt exist...

Of course there is some sense in your comment that he is just another bad guy. The irony is that you fail to apply the same logic to islamist criminals.

  • @wishcraft4u2 Adolf Hitler was also insanely popular with Germany in 1939 and through most of WWII, the reason I don't equate this with muslims is the fact that extremist muslim groups continue to operate in largely muslim controlled nations who claim to want to stop the extremists but for some reason cannot seem to find or control their movements. Most of their soldiers are corrupt and look away while the Taliban and Al Quida continue to suicide bomb market after market and assault our troops.

  • @wishcraft4u2 I am not pulling anything out my ass, look in any history book and you'll see Franco described as a dictator. You probably think Che Guevara was a hero too!

  • @warhammer2000 You are not making a bit of sense. I know hes a dictator you dolt. Thats in fact the entire point. He was a dictator and he was a truly devout catholic and so were his followers. Chistians being bastards, get it? That's all there is to it.

This still goes on today. All over the developing world, religion is invariably brought into violent conflicts regardless of which religion.

And no, I kind of despise Che Guevara. Because he was just like them. But of yet another conviction

  • @wishcraft4u2 I do realize Christians have done fucked up shit in the past, I never said they were innocent of any wrong doing. I have as many issues with so called Chirtians as I do with Muslims. As far as I'm concerned all religion is the root of a lot this world's problems. The Crusades, Spanish inquisition, the Salem witch trials, and the destruction of American Indian culture can all be laid at the feet of so called Christians. Believe me I know they can do their fair share of evil

  • @meesternixon I think you're right. I also think that's why America even scares ME, as an american.

I sincerely hope that the (SANE!) countries of the world don't hate ALL of us.

Even ME... I am trained by my country to think differently of other countries. I don't want to. I hate my country "de-humanizing" others. Force of habit is a bitch, though.

I just hope the rest of my country TRIES to wake up before we end up fucking the rest of the world over. I really DO hope for that.

  • @meesternixon USA! USA! USA! Somebody needs to take the top dog spot, we decided to do it in 260 or so years.

  • Comment removed

  • @meesternixon I agree with your assessment inasmuch as many Americans feel that God is on their side. Having grown up in the "Bible Belt", this is something that is instilled in us at a young age. Hell, we had bible study in public schools until 20 years ago. One thing I do ask is that you do not judge all of us (Americans) by the actions and words of those who are in positions of power. Most of us wouldn't presume to think that we're the coolest kid on the block, so to speak.

  • @meesternixon you're missing the point of the song, those things he is listing aren't real reasons to be afraid of anything they are irrational fears

  • @TheSheemed songs can be interpreted by many in different ways, and I think his explanation is a little more defined than yours. "Hey, I'm going to write a song about irrational fears, I might just sing about americans because people are scared of weird things". The amount of power America has now, I'd be fucking afraid too.

  • @JamesCmuse well, america will probly splinter in teh next 100 years imo, democracy was a good idea, but the fact history repeats itself show this country will turn into a country ruled by an elite/nobility, then civil war then collapse. nothing lasts forever

  • God is an american such an epic song

  • so hes afraid because we dont have gun control? isnt this kinda the opposite without guns the law abiding citizens would be the ones getting guns pulled on them

  • 0:20 .. God, Trent.

  • lol. NO! if he's afraid of me, I'll never be able to meet him. :O
