But thats only for the summer, the winter, hhaa. They also have a cabin in Green Mountain Falls and the first road that my we take you need alot of horse power just to get up the hill due to the dirt a degree. But its easy up than going down. the second hill is easy to use except on how the road is since it is a narrow road, very dangerous road just explains it. Smart fortwo okay car.
Here in colorado, the electric is an okay vehicle. But in the winter, forget it, you might as well buy a gas powered smart fortwo, but in the summer the electric will be fine for around town. My grandparents live in Woodland Park and boy oh boy the electric would even make it all the way up the hill if your going slow, but if your going the speed limit you might make it up the hill. continue.....
How quiet, the turbine sound of the motor and it controller as it uses a few amps. I am not ready just yet to give up my hybrid, but this would be a great around town vehicle.
2)How many KM does it last before need to re-charge?
3)How many hours to recharge fully from 0% to 100%?
4)Where will I recharge it? I obvisouly can't leave it in the gas station to recharge every 2 days, not to say that in my country there is no electricrecharger in gas stations
I live in Canada and we see the gas version of this car all the time. I've driven one myself - even though it has tiny wheels, it is a great car for the winter. It's not going to go plowing through 3 feet of snow so I wouldn't take it off-road camping in the winter (or summer for that matter), but on your normal winter city streets, it is fine.
Cars like the "Seicento Elettra" have a small diesel tank and a burner that heats the air from the ventilation circuit, it's the cheapest way to go but the car won't be "zero emissions" in winter
Heard it's 130km. If I can get enough high-voltage charging stations (those than can charge up to 80% in 15 minutes)... I'm buying this one :) The main problem is that I live in Poland. No charging stations around. I know of one :)
@elmerpickleyo Around 0:55-1:00 there apears to be a gas turbine engine and by 1:16 it sounds like it has the power to lift the beluga airbus into the sky!
It's awful
Id rather have a V8 or the gentle purring of a Toyota
Turbo diesel smart is better than this because it has no limited range. This is not gonna work for out of town trips until they build battery exchange stations in 20 years.
@latexfashion I sure am right and you sure are wrong. You missed 1 minor fact!
100% of people Travel out of town!
I live in Phoenix, Arizona area. Just greater Phoenix alone is 70-80 miles or 140KM wide which means if you own this Smart! and need to go to the other side of town you'd need to borrow your neighbor's car or run out of battery at the other side! So this car can ONLY be used as a "Second Car" for nearby city driving in small but crowded European cities.
@Hesam0000 - Have you talked to 100% of people and asked how far they drive? I didn't think so. The average commute during the work week is 26 min. and an average of 16 mi. one way. Which just means the smart electric isn't for YOU. Try moving somewhere you don't have to leave the day before to visit neighbors.
@tubularguynine I know by simple statistics that at least 90% of people use their cars to take short or long trips of over 150 miles roundtrip. Owning 1 of these makes your trips limited to the Home-Depot. Oh no, not even home depot since whatever you buy can't fit in Smart! So just groceries and work(office-job only), that's all. Then unless you're a workahaulic you'd have to buy a second car for everything beyond your town and larger than bag of groceries.

I live in Texas and I plan to take my Smart off the grid. I am going to get two Mexicans riding stationary bikes to charge it while I sleep.

@Iansfamilyvideos exactly- "gas" or PEtrol versions are burning a fuel to make heat.
electric cars will waste all their energy trying to make a breath of warmth in the UK in winter.
People in the UK will die of hypothermia; its a summer novalty not a realistic solution to petrol

The only noise is tyre noise and a light whistle. Good video, i would like to know more about the range of this car.
darthbandon1 2 years ago
The range is - depending on your driving style - around 100km.
In London there is already a fleet of 100 vehicles in use.
