@zerztogkill theres only 3 original books written by Ludlum (pardon my spelling). There are more that follow the idea of bourne but honestly they arent as good, they arent written by Ludlum. Similar to Tom Clancy's books. A number of them were written by Clancy himself but a good lot of them werent, only supervised.

No disrespect to the James Bond legacy (preferably older Bond), but Bourne trumps Bond. He can analyze a map or a train schedule in seconds and use it to decide exactly what to do in a chaotic situation, so to me, Bourne wins the mental game too. You can't really compare the two, Bourne movies are made to be realistic (as someone previously mentioned) and Bond was meant to be kind of ridiculous and fictional.

Love how the Bourne series continuously uses water to demonstrate change/rebirth--Bourne found in water at the beginning of Identity, Marie dies in water, Bourne being "dunked" in water in all those flashbacks where he was forced to forget David Webb, and one final time when he's in the river at the end of Ultimatum, swimming away. He is literally "born" (bourne?) again, and yet no more.

@RelleRoulette Well, I believe the MOVIE was trying to say that the guy being dunked WAS Bourne. I especially thought this was clear when, in Ultimatum, he has the flashback on the train, and recalls both being in water when Marie was killed and being in water with a black bag over his head. Perhaps in the book it was different, but his flasbhack on the train demonstrates Bourne "putting it all together", the water was one of the catalysts to him remembering everything.

The thing I like alot about this series is the camera work during the fight scenes. It's very frantic with lots of fast shots, but you never lose track of the action, you always know what everyone is doing and in what position the fighters are in.

@zeldamage001 I think the opposite, in Bourne the fighting scenes are realistic, unlike most of nowadays movies where you see moves that wouln't work in real life, and you know, in Bourne they do not use any background music in fight scenes, so it makes it more believable, you can only hear the actor's sounds and almost feel the pain in every single punch they take, well that's how I see it

However, the fighting scenes are still pretty damn cool. Almost as cool as the Matrix's :P

@OnlyGaming1 It is realistic because it is an actual martial art called Krav Mage develloped by the Israeli as a variation on ju-jitsu like martial arts. It is one of the most effective in real life. Great principles AND it looks great and realistic in movies with the circular movements that are use in the techniques :) The only thing is: in real life you won't hear the smashes or all those noise except muted pounding sounds when hitting a chest or so and the noises made by your clothes.
