here's a suggestion/idea i havent seen done b4. it's noy really an arena but it's an idea i got. make a 3 or 4 cube deep hole, put a creeper spawner in there or catch a large group of them b4 puttin glass down....then a house over that....now u gotta creeper floor! :3
