@jpsurf93 I use 11s because when my strings were to loose in the beginning. I've found if you plan on playing in drop tuning most of the time like eb tuning you should use 12s, but for just a little more 'stiffness' I would switch to 11s

@skynanners112 The thicker the strings the more ring and tone you can get from your guitar. SRV used 13's in standard tuning and still did all those crazy bends (for 13's). He had huge wrists and strong hands... because he played all his life.

This amp is pure heavenly goodness. The only thing I'd considering trading it in for is the orange ad140, which has been on my mind for awhile. But in reality, not much can out do this amp in terms of amazing tonalities and quality.

@pawhead The Engl Savage 120 is a fuckin beast, liquidy clear crunchy tones with the gain all the way up, perfect amp for Blink 182/Lamb of God, BUT the Engl's interior and how it is built is just like a Peavey 5150, a $550 amp. Engl's sound amazing but the quality is below par, at least if your spending over a grand for the Engl, Dude I've had this arguement in my mind for days, Engl vs Orange vs Mesa vs Diezel, for the price and for clear saturation and amzing cleans, ORANGE, or Mesa+Marshall

Remember, a 100w amp isnt twice as loud as a 50w...Its only slightly louder.

I chose the 50w Orange myself because it broke up (the sound) sooner than the 100w...My RV50 is the best amp I have ever owned...I have owned about 30 amps.

Yer dude its a common mistake people think the wattage is a volume rating, Basicly at a local shop there is only a £200 difference between the 100 and the 50 and i was wondering besides the quicker break up are they any pro/cons between getting the 50 as aposed to the 100?

The transformers tend to be smaller on low wattage amplifiers if they have higher wattage siblings.
