  • I'm strangely curious what you'd call this engine boy or girl.

  • great work, I would love to meet you and these fine machines!

  • Well done breathing new life into this lovly machine!

  • I was waiting for the wheel to come off and fire itself down the forest, going through someones bedroom while they're doing the do.

  • Very nice video. I love old engines!

  • You guys have to assemble this thing and paint it then it would look the biz!

  • You guys could probably take this to those annual fairs with the other live steam/tractor engines

  • This is absolutely amazing!

  • was it always a stationary engine?

  • what was it used for?

  • I have great admiration for people like Tootie, who take something from a bygone era and restore it to its former glory for the next generation to enjoy , Well done that man

  • When are ya going to hook up a belt to it and drive a saw mill or a generator? Or Gees there are so many applications for this fine piece of equipment.

  • its running a lot smoother and quieter than the 2007 video, thats a great piece of history u got there

  • How happy this child must be.

As happy I was watching the railroads steams locos passing home.

  • The only thing what I can say about this it's WELL DONE TOOTHE'S ..... fills good to see they are people out there who made things work.... everyone should do that... Sir you have all my respect

  • Well you was way ahead of me! Great job, would love to see it. Those things

last forever if you grease 'em up, and they look like AMERICA. Did you find a

manufacturer's nameplate on the engine anywhere?

  • So Tootie put the steam exhaust up the funnel to help lift the smoke up.

    watch?v=Fdp33HVjXGs

But in the above video we see why it wasn't always there - condensers take away the exhaust and even some feed it back into the boiler, like those on a ship. But the vacuum is kinda important with condensers that feed the boiler.

  • what kind of brand of boiler do have

  • how'd you find this thing? and were any permits or anything required to take it home? who did you have to consult to remove it?

  • @Mr27ace27 Hi - it was near my son's home and I knew it from years ago. I bought it from the person who owned it. I had known him for many years and he knew I would tak good care of it. I moved it in pieces with a pickup, a four wheeler, and even a wrecker. Thanks for looking.

  • @Mr27ace27 We dont need no stinking padges/permts.

  • please hook that thing to a generator or a saw mill please please work that thang

  • would be cool to hook up a gen set to that for aux power if it ever went out

  • Get a fatty generator on the end of that crankshaft and get off grid!

  • Brilliant achievement! Well done on bringing this back to life!!

  • @0812201

Yes, this was pulled out of an old sawmill.

  • GREAT engine :D

    thanks for posting!

  • What is her maximum pressure?

  • @Railroadingfarmer001

I hydrostatic tested it to 192# and set the pop off at 90#.

  • i wish i had space for thing like this! i live in england and ive only got room for mamod models unfortunately but i do have a collection of 1920s-1940s petrol barn engines.

  • Im glad you rescued a cool old engine like that and made it work. really sweet i have to say

  • I would like to do a viewer video on this AMAZING FANTASTIC engine. We have done documentaries using viewer tape sent to us. YOU HAVE AN AMAZING WORK OF ART THERE:-)

GREAT WORK thank you for sharing.

  • What type of mill did that old steam engine power?

  • I want to meet this guy.

  • Where do you live? Do you have any steam engines? I am in northern Idaho.

  • This is in northern idaho, no way, i live in northern idaho, i dont have any steam engines, but this one is cool, where is it located?is it in the rathdrum area.

  • I forgot to ask also have you got the old donkey engine running?

  • Hey there great video I always appreciate seeing rescued engines running again, you have a very nice setup. I do hope that old traction engine boiler is up to task, I would be worried about the integrity of the boiler from sitting so long. in addition where is that old mill located?

  • There is an old boiler Here in owensboro in the middle of a feild, its in good condition, whatever it was attached to is long gone, but the boiler and firebox is still solid the stack is plugged with a pipe and valve!

  • That is so much fun! I sure hope that I can acquire something like that to have fun with my future grandchildren.

  • that is the best running engine I have ever seen.

  • absolutely amazing:)

  • ha that's so funny i just made a comment on the other video that you should put the exhaust out the stack. job well done keep up the good work!!

  • what a great looking machine! luv the whistle and flywheel!!

  • THe engine was made by Atlas - it is a 12 X 16

  • Sorry - it is an Aultman-Taylor traction boiler. 85 HP is right.

  • very good set up im envious

  • Thank you.

  • those arn't maluable gal fittings on the gauge glass on the boiler i hope

  • no - they are all steel and rated for 150#

  • Quality time in the back yard for ALL ages............Priceless!!!

Those kids will never forget it

  • I sure hope so - it's part of their inheritance.

  • Great steam engine!

    Best regards from Germany!

    Bidone

  • This is a fantastic video of a great project.

Are there plans to use the engine to do some thing? It is a great museum piece,

May be kids from school could make it a day trip. Looks like kids take to it. Don't well all.

  • This is just great

  • Very nice engine! Thanks for sharing it.
