Hey guys its Josh keyboardist of Terrafirma be sure to check out my new band Agents of Atlas first studio update only here on youtube thanks alot support and spread the word! I love you all
i wish i could have more respect for there keyboardist. good equipment, accept the shitty microshitkorg, not to much skill as far as riffing that i have noticed, he does a few well placed effects. the guitarists are pretty good. the typical hardcore stage running in one spot is generic and makes me hate them. could improve, but pretty good anyway
what does running on the spot have anything to do with there music. dont judge on stupid things like that. and there isnt anything wrong with a microkorg. they are good machines. you only say they are shit because evreyone uses them.
no. hear is the thing. people only use them because they want to be the devil wears prada instead of looking at them and saying "you know what, this keyboard really isn't that good, lets try something new". i owned one. they are nowhere near as good as some of the other ones, even in the same price range. synthesizers are my life. this is more like a toy that people buy to be like the bands they listen to. when a band like this adds me, i go "wow, thats a fuckin surprise".
Yeah ive always been a vocalist and recentley really wanted to try my hands at keys/synth.always loved comeing up with nice piano and synth pieces. and yeah microkorg was the first real thought since i only had around 500. So yup, i recentley bought one. I guess the only reason why i got it was cuz of the money and because evreyone seemed to say it was good for someone starting out. So im curious. Did i really make a very bad descision? or is it not that bad of a synth.
alesis has a better mini keyboard for the same price. i know they use it too. go listen to reviews from people who have years of experience with synthesizers and they would tell you that the micron is a better keyboard. a really good beginner keyboard is a roland sh201. but its cool if you like it. i just wish people knew there is a LOT of better stuff out there instead of being so narrow minded.
@chadinterrupted he doesnt use a microkorg or not that i know of now as far as i know hes been using an alesis and whats the problem with the microkorg anyways its a good keyboard i see no reason to hate on it. he uses alot of shit that people tend not to realize..so he just doesnt use a micro korg.
the only reason people can get away with selling the microkorg for 400 dollars is because people don't know anything about synthesizers and buy it over somethings better. they don't shop smart. the consumer wants to be like there favorite hardcore bands. thats why they can get away with it. alesis micron actually is an amazing keyboard for 400 dollars. far superior to the 50 dollar microkorg. but i guess thats not what its about. its just like fuuuuckk, another microkorg?
Microkorgs are totally worth the money in my opinion. They're great vocoders, analog-modeled synthesizers, and also work as great MIDI controllers because all the knobs and wheels normally used for the synthesizer function can also be used for controlling effects, channels, etc.
I actually use mine as a MIDI controller much more than an actual synthesizer. Shit's really nice and compact. Plus, it looks fucking tight.
@SinOfANBU well i am glad you think it looks "tight" i personally think its style is for little kids. but you obviously haven't ventured far into the realm of keyboards. i am not talking about what it can do, i am talking about its quality as a "synthesizer". it is a little digital toy. there are other digital toys that are actually worthy of being called "synthesizers". the vocodor on the mk is horrible too. it might as well not have one. and a lot of good keyboards have midi capability.
@SinOfANBU one more example. i bought a boss me 50 effects board for my mesa tube head, well, because mesa is an awesome amplifier and is pure real analog strength and the boss me 50 is a shitty little digital toy with a lot of "tight" effects, it made the tone sound like shit. it was like downsizing a perfect wav file to mp3 or something. it had awesome effects and awesome stuff on it, but at the end of the day, it is a nock off of real true analog bypass. microkorg<analog.
@SinOfANBU and i shall actually continue my rant to also say, the only reason you like microkorg so much instead of facing the real facts, is because the cool metal core bands you listen to use it. it is the trendy thing to have in a band these days, not the logical or actually cool thing to have. it is a fad. thats why they get away with selling it for 400 dollars when in reality it is an outdated pathetic little keyboard.
@chadinterrupted dude, its all personal preference no need to get so agitated over this guy using a microkorg. and the Boss effects board proves nothing of the Microkorg, its two completely different realms. Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about either, I play a Hughes and Kettner Matrix 100, and have a Microkorg for a stage synth. Yeah, the Micron is a nice synth, but so is the Microkorg. Its all personal preference and completely up to the player.
Did you guys seriously fight about for 3 pages about me using a microkorg...? It was for midi thats why I used it
nothing more

but yes, i should not judge because of how generic they are. i should just listen to there music and see if i like it.

in the begining it was between microkorg and micron. but they both had the same mixed reviews. and being a beginner i wound of flipping a coin haha.
