Thus, halting the money going to the drug cartels, and letting the government make some money from taxing pot.

wow cannabis is just a plant, nobody has died from cannabis but people die from perfectly legal drugs,alcohol, fire arms, kitchen utensils you name it. More people died from swine flu than from cannabis. You are able to walk down the street with a carton of alcohol, a hunting rifle, and synthetic heroin(oxycotton) but not with a plant. that logic is outrageously stupid and close minded. I think it's important to distinguish conservcatism from the Republican party. The Democrats are really progressives in sheep's clothing and the Republicans in the last 20 years have been Progressive Light.
