If this were real, you probably wouldn't have been able to shove it in like that. When I first shot an AK, i did that and it wouldn't just shove in there. But the model and the animation looks spot-on. =)
Looks good and looks like it took some hard work. I'd be a little worried about your model though, because the AK47 has the bolt and ejection port on the right side of the weapon. Also, with the AK47, the magazine cannot be simply inserted into the weapon. It needs to be "rocked" back into the weapon, starting towards the muzzle, then rocking the magazine back towards the trigger housing (like the M14). Looks like you know how to animate though, good job.
I am and I've done some training with the AK47, and I also own one too. Talk to a recrutier, I don't know the specifics which you probably are looking for. Good luck!
Pretty cool, but on the real AK-47 you have to touch the forward end of the mag and then push the back end into the well, because of the way the catch is designed. Otherwise, pretty cool.
NICE!!! 5/5 i recommend making the hand pushing the mag in when he gets the new one out and puts it in, it kinda looks like he just throws it in. But THATS SOME GREAT ASS ANIAMTION!!! please check out my animation videos! I' am new to 3ds max 9 but there ok, ak-47 animations i made!
Very well done. One thing, it seems like the shooter almost throws the magazine in. Unless you're quite good with reloading, I doubt you can put it in that quick. The magazine has a catch on the back that has to lock in to the receiver plate. But nonetheless, very well done.
Some games allow keeping the chambered round, such as Rainbow Six: Raven Shield. And in most games, the character usually pulls the charging handle after a magazine change so no mystery there, except that the ejected round isn't seen.
I know, Sierra's SWAT games and Crysis too, recreate this thing we call reality. Too bad the average fuck up run and gun shooter doesn't give a shit about realism.
In the new COD4, they do consider the round in the chamber. You reload faster in midclip then an empty chamber. I don't think it was considered in previous games, though.
You need to have the mag "rock" or "pivot" into place. It doesn't just get sucked into the gun like that. Watch some other AK mag changes and you'll see the motion I'm talking about. It is not like an AR or an M4 where the mag is caught by a button, on the AK there is a spring-loaded tab that catches the mag. Do some research and you can really make it shine. ;)
pretty good, though he put the mag in wrong, and didn't cock it.... also was a little fast in places.
Was pretty good though:)

Looks like your character tosses the magazine into the gun. You need to rock it in. 3/5.

@2011VMICadet Well, it's held by the left hand. Don't know if they make a left handed variant, but it could be custom machined.

Really good, though the sequence is a bit quick.
is it just me or does the shooter actually chuck the magazine into the gun?

Having the AK rock back a bit while the mag is being inserted will give it more realism.

Nice animation and texturing, but the model is wrong. The action is on the right side, and the mag pivots in.
4/5*

Isn't it funny how, in video games, the round in the chamber mysteriously disappears when you change a non-empty mag ?
