  • I just get custom maps and invedit in tnt, lava, etc :D

  • I'm 13 and i've never greifed

    (Never on multiplayer)

  • This is great your letting the kids explore their creativity most likely theyll end up in art design or visual performing arts

  • Can't you I'm the info block but then you can make them tp over border blokes (guss)

  • @xXcoolkoteXx What...

  • @minecraftteachr you should have added some parkour

  • I think you should teach them how to conserve torches

(they are using so much in their houses)

(but that just me being picky)

  • @MinecrafterPaul That's your survival skills that have become habitual in minecraft. :P Conserve resources early on.

  • lol. they are good builders for 2nd graders i suppose

  • little grifers

  • pylon? did you play starcraft2?

  • i would freaking love to be in your class 2 bad im in 6th grade :(

  • Nice video xJawz! =P

  • Might I recommend, although, that with the pressure plates..?

If you hit the 'Q' key, it is set on default to drop whatever block you're holding.

If you drop a block over a pressure plate, it will weigh it down, and work just as if someone else were standing on it.

Just a simple way to work around being THE teacher.

  • @ShakeWelBe4Opening It was a stone pressure plate. stone only works when a npc or player is standing on it. A wood pressure plate works when an object lands on it not stone.

  • Happened to come across this.

This seems like a brilliant way of using a game with so much potential for expression, and using it to teach structured ideas in a realistic "world" setting.

It seems like you're doing a very good job!

Looks pretty fun, if you ask me. ;)

    --A kid at heart.

  • what is that texture pack?

  • im a 12 year old and i wish you could see my builds

  • btw ima griefer and robberXD

  • catched griefers and robbers should get to a jail and minecraftteacher should teach them honor to other stuff:D

  • I'm watching these videos out of order btw.

This is really impressive. Minecraft is like the ultimate teaching tool, because you can create entire worlds for a lesson plan.

I got a chuckle out of the part with the double locked doors, meaning one person can't just go on ahead and leave the others behind.

  • Moar minecraft!

  • I wish this was in my schools when I was in grade school

  • Thumbs Up For More Lessons

  • We Want More Lessons :D

  • @MinecraftTeachr

bro, you use minecraft in schools for educational purposes, teaching kids life lessons, teamwork, etc. YOU ARE THE TEACHING KING!!!

  • more, pls?

  • Then a bully is shown griefing....

  • I like how you use lapis lazuli blocks here and there. When I find the ore, I get right to mining it and eventually decorating my houses and villages with the blocks.

  • This looks awesome but how are you actually able to let the kids play at school time? Isn't there any rules about what a teacher can do with the children? In my country a teacher would never be allowed to do such things without getting fired. I mean this looks like a good (and fun) way to learn, but how did you do to make the goverment (or whoever decides such things) to let you do these things? :)

  • @Pingusbroder Schools have changed. Kids play all the time in schools as they see the value in games as it helps build social and interpersonal skills, builds community among many other things. Kids play math games, reading games, science games. As long as the educational goals are clear, many schools allow it.

  • @Pingusbroder Also, this isn't "play" at least in the traditional sense. They are learning to design things, work as a team, problem solve and use creativity.

  • @Snowbeavers77 Don't refer to me as some kind of old guy :P

I'm actually going in school myself.

  • I am just waiting for one of the kids to know what TNT does to the other kid's houses. That's an idea! Teach them not to get angry when their houses are blown up! XD Or teach them that herobrine does exist...

  • 7 & 8 yrear olds did this? cool

  • a group of 2 or 3 kids

could double-cross the rest and then go through together then when they get to the second one they help each-other

OR one double-crosses his friend then goes on XD

  • Lord of the flies with respawn :)

  • My little brother (also a 2nd grader) really enjoys Minecraft, as much as I do. Of course, he plays it just like your kids do. I'm not sure where he came up with his roof garden, but it looks alot like yours. His roof was made of glass, and he had a couple dirt blocks on top with saplings on top. I'm just wondering why kids enjoy that so much.

  • LOL imagine trying to teach 2nd graders what a T Flip-Flop gate is...

  • Have you been thinking about showing them redstone and what you can make out of it?

  • love the videos

  • i know minecraft

  • Hoping he continues this.

  • Im 12! I would have loved this!!

  • THUMBS THIS UP SO MINECRAFT TEACHER CAN SEE THIS: After the kids learn about most of the things in minecraft you should put on monsters and make a survival island so they work together.

  • landmine traps?

they have to learn about not treating stuff as it first appears....... *trollface*

  • Awesome!Ye Kno im only 11 right? XD

  • I could if u like act as an anciant minecraftian

  • theres a wooden one.

  • Hmmm... Ya could just drop an item on the pressure pla... Oh, wait, that's a stone pressure plate... dang

  • I was hopeing u were going to say when they opened a chest a skeleton spawned XD YOU HAVE DISTURBED MY SLUMBER!

  • Now I see what that was fully all about. Thank you for making this an after-video and saying the purposes. I'm really happy that someone is doing this AND that a school is finally allowing this. We need this more in all the different levels of school. Great game to do it, too; fully customizable, constantly being patched and updated, and very simple block system. Teaching how to live in the virtual world will instantly translate to the real world. Better than the old real world and forget the v

  • computer class was a waste of time anyways. should replace it with dodge ball

  • What the gibbering titfuck is this bullshit.

This is the horsecock they're teaching in schools these days? No wonder the latest generation is so fucking retarded.

    God damn.

  • What the hell do they learn from this. I'm all for making learning fun but this just seems like fun with absolutely no learning

  • @Kingkiller777 Teamwork, improved hand-eye coordination, etc. If you'd watch his other videos you'd see he tries to teach them things like conserving animals and wood like in the real world.

  • Why no new videos :( are people being haters :( if they are im sorry

  • Why aren't you posting videos anymore? :-(

  • @hakuro hes developing a deucation minecraft program for all schools rite now hes quite busy: minecraftedu.tumblr.com

  • lol

  • This is really cool just dont teach them herobrine! D:

  • @The101Creepers if he wants to he can install the herobrine mod :)

  • Awesome video but you barely ever post nowadays

  • Love and tolerance

    Love and tolerance

  • Joel, don´t know if you will see this, but did you know that there is a message when you start minecraft up saying: "Joel is Neat!" xD Thumb´s up se he can see!

  • da..shi...fu...dang?yeah...dang...DANG I DIDNT KNOW THAT THEY HAD MINECRAFT SCHOOL!!!pffft...

  • wheres the next episode

    its been a long time

  • my name is gloria. im 5 and i already know how to play minecraft.

  • @redmily you would actually give your age on youtube wow such a retard

  • @ilikepie1231231231 i dont know if shes lying or not but if she is...cmon dude...shes 5

  • @putridpansy1 lol well i think its lieing i dont know if a 5 year old can actually use youtube

  • I wish you were my teacher :(*sad* I wish i could also go down 5 grade and live in new york.

  • he thought them not to grief

  • My name is Joel too :)

  • He is working now in newyork besides Joel is epic because he teaches minecraft in SCHOOL :D

  • when will your next video be out? I miss your videos!!

  • redstone carpet !!! YAYYYYY!!!

  • This is epic you should go mining with them

  • Can you make like some type of arena where pvp us enabled????

  • Wazzup MinecraftTeacher

  • Oh boy...I have to lol a little at how so many of the commentors kind of miss the point. Anyway, good show MinecraftTeacher. I agree that this is quite an excellent lesson for the kids, it's an important thing for them to learn.

  • Teach them teamwork by giving them weapons and an infinite onslaught of mobs >:)

  • AWSOME teaching minecraft i wish i lived in new york

  • Hurry up with da vids

  • Screw that grab everything get no clip on and fly mod and run away

  • The thing is, one day you might have a student that, by the time of seeing said pyramid, would, like me, be stricken with gold fever. So I hope it’s well protected by then.

  • You should turn monsters on and teach them how to defend themselves.

  • @MoltenFlameDragon since that involves violence, and its a school, well those two dont mix.

  • @MoltenFlameDragon since that involves violence, and its a school, well those two dont mix.

  • you should teach them how to use redstone

  • try telling them about herobrine and see how that gos

  • @BestofNERF why? Herobrine doesn't exist

  • @DoctorRedstone That's not true. In 1.6, there was a very RARE chance that you would see Herobrine, but as 1.6.6 came out, Herobrine was removed.

  • @DarkerRai dude if you follow the mojangsters on twitter, you would know that they said (quote) "Herobrine was never added to the game, the spottings were mobs or the player "herobrine", only the texture of herobrine existed" (end quote)

  • A redstone lesson would be interesting......

  • Why didn't the kids just throw items on the pressure plate :P

  • @Faliceer that only works with wooden plates

  • Hey man I really love what your doing for these kids! When I was in middle school/ elementary school I never got to show off my nerd skills in a class, but what your letting these kids do is express themselves and be admired by their peers which is amazing!!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!

  • can you like show them tips and tricks in minecraft?

  • bravo, love how you were teaching the kids self-restraint: too many kids on mmorpgs and what not these days have all got dirty mouths or are just plain nasty... i won't you to know that i support what you are doing and i hope that this spreads with in school systems

  • umm how do you teach these kids as in where school or is it like a school program

  • @ilikepie1231231231 Both. There's an afterschool class and a normal.

  • so you actully teach real little kids minecraft and they play minecraft ? if yes lol

  • I really hope that another video comes out soon. Well, I guess I can't force it. Also, an idea to introduce your classes to enemy mods while still keeping control is with the use of spawners. Just saying, it might helps you(for example to give the kids more different things to build around(in other words, to give the kids a reason to build mob traps and other things(including ways to protect their houses from mobs))).

  • @bbruinenberg thats really cool anything else you wanna mention like at some points death

  • MultiVerse! It's a Bukkit server..... You should use the plugin Admincmds also, it's good for a ton of multi-world commands such as weather control, time control, and tons of other stuff.... it stays up to date and the plugin dev for it is taking suggestions every day. You should probably use the zombe fly mod on your client also, but just for you.

  • I would like to see you do something like a friendly Survival Island with them. They might be scared with the mobs (But you could give them god mode) and they have to find the Curators Treasure and all of that. You might have to copy and past multiple survival islands (Which go quite deep) because I found, upon playing with my friend. That 2 people playing was a perfect number. It would teach them LOTS of restraint. And logical thinking, tons of teamwork (Including some give and take)

    Wordlimit!

  • @NinjaFajita Or he could set a survival island up that will end like Lord of the Flies :D

  • joel hope you see this but i want you to make a smp server with a speef arena and teach them how to play it

  • (Sorry for the spam) But if you EVER need any help building. I'd be more than willing. If you need more complex redstone piston things, I can do that (But don't expect me to make any computers :P )

  • I really think you should have a full day dedicated to minecraft teaching, so you aren't so limited. They would still have breaks, but it would mostly be for Minecraft. Or at least several hours.

  • This is amazing!! I like how you offered them a reward. I sent you an E-Mail reguarding how I might use this for Spanish. Seeing how you've used this to great effect gives me lots of new hope!

  • @MinecraftTeachr can you try to make a puzzle with the pistons,i'd like to see that

  • I think you should have contests with multiple strengths like most creative/functional and have one kid win ONCE! :D PS: im 12 can i join your class 3:

  • What do you use to record with?

  • If you want it, i could make more maps like this one ;D

  • This is great stuff. I really enjoy the lessons that you're trying to teach the kids and also the method you're using to teach them! It must be very fun for both you and the kids to have lessons like this. Keep it up, this is excellent.

  • Nice. You don't only teach them teamwork but you also teach them that they shouldn't grief. Just a small question. Do you also use stuff that is posted on your videos or do you really come up by yourself with everything?

  • love it

  • MinecraftTeachr FTW.! =D

  • @imopsvideo 360p ftw

  • you r so cool

  • looks like a g rated saw scenario, however the lessons that are being taught by you need to be STANDARDIZED across the world!

  • very impressed w/ wat u did with the teamwork and not just taking the items which is REALLY important on minecraft servers

  • Looks awesome :) Once again a good video and the kids seem to be very imaginative.

  • How do you resist not filling in the holes for them? You've got dirt in your hand right there, they've got holes in the terrain. Put block in hole. You must be an excellent teacher to be able to keep your hands off like that.

  • @cymonsgames Hahahah! <3 OCD's.

  • you should make a puzzel for your subscribers to solve :D

  • @Majorman35 yeah the kids should design it and the Teacher can add some challenging parts and we can all have fun

  • i'm even attending lessons while it's vacation!

  • This is amazing!

  • You must construct additional Pylons.

  • These kids will be so good at redstone, they'll be allowed to go on the voxelbox server and stuff, ha

  • do you plan on teaching graduated students? :3

  • Imagine the memories you are creating for these kids. Just wait, ten years from now these kids will think back and go, "Oh yeah, I remember Minecraft, it was so awesome!"

  • @FasterThanRainbows sup brony

  • @TheMillerman555 *brohoof*

  • you have the skills....you have the talent....you have the power of what only a teacher can do......all you need now is your own intro/exit musical theme, and your official.

    Thumbs up if you agree.

    .

  • @TheArtistZen you don't need an intro/outro to be official. I think if you can make a good intro without the 'flashy' intro, your official. (like how he does it)

  • @MissionAvoid Im not saying this as a "HE WOULD BE A OFFICIAL PERSON"....when i say "Official", i just mean cool-er than what he is doing right now. Im not stupid, i DO know that with or without it he is doing a fine job....i just imputed my idea that if he added a MUSIC intro/exit theme, it could be nice. I did NOT say anything about anything being "flashy" that WOULD be a tad much. A simple pic of his name with some music would be good. oy.....

    .

  • wut if as a prank some kid put arrows in the dispensers

  • they should have gone into the pyramid and fought of creepers and skeletons and zombies ans spiders

  • @MinecraftTeachr i thnk it would be cool to see the kids interact with mods like beter that wolves and clay soldures

  • thumbs up if your the first viewer

  • I'm the 0th viewer ;D

  • thumbs up for 0 views!

  • It´s great that the kids learn how to behave, in online communitys, with minecraft ;D
