To be a little more specific, Akuma is Gouken (Ken and Ryu's master)'s brother. They both trained under some other guy named Goutestu who taught them a really dangerous style of fighting. Akuma and Gouken disagreed about the true nature of the art, so Gouken left to begin his own dojo. Akuma stayed and eventually surpassed Goutestu, killing him in a fight. Then Akuma went searching for worthy opponents, hence fighting and killing Gouken.

If Fei Long was ya favourite character he just got his ass kicked haha. But only cause he didn't get a direct hit on his fire kick. He's so bait hinting to Ryu that he was gonna do it. So Ryu had time to react a lil bit. Ryu didn't hint to Fei that he was gonna hurricane kick his ass silly. That's why he got done wit. Pure direct hits. Sick fight.

The people in the live action movie with Van Damme were ok picks for the characters, but it should have been directed by Cory Yuen, who directed Jet Li's Kiss Of The Dragon. He's also a well known fight Coreograper (Check out his work in both TRANSPORTER movies).
