Navien CH-180 Combination Boiler Installation

Its hard to see from the video but it looks to me like your missing the air eliminator and expansion tank which the installation manual shows being on the feed right when your come off of the boiler.

@billcall1 I am not missing the air eliminator or the expansion tank, they are out of view. This was a replacement boiler in an extremely confined space with boilers to the left and right. The expansion tank/eliminator was kept in the same place it was prior to replacement. All hydronic systems need an expansion tank! The don't necessarily need to be in the exact place shown on the manual for any boiler to work functionally.

I just installed a CH 240 and the DHW side is running great. Trying to hook up the boiler side and the wiring diagram from the manufacturer is not very detailed. Can you tell me how to hook in my TACO pump into the control board. I do see how to wire up the therm and solenoids but no idea on pump. thanks. Great vid by the way.

@lake194 These installations should only be done by professionals, so I can't tell you specifically how to do it. In my video I didn't connect my secondary pump, or thermostat to the board, I used a Taco zone controller and connected the ISOLATED END SWITCH on the Taco controller to the R and W terminals on the navien board. Than the thermostat and the pump to the Taco Controller. You may need a special Zone Valve control board (not what I used in the video).

@lake194 I also didn't use the Navien thermostat that comes with the unit, I used a regular t87. My advice to you would be to call Navien tech support - 800-519-8794.

But if you're not a professional tradesman they may not want to talk to you.
