  • Mike is bad motha.....shut yo mouth. I am just talking bout Mike and the mighty mighty JACKSON 5

  • look at them. michael was not the only one who could stomp the dance foor. marlon is going hard

  • THIS WAS SO WAY AHEAD OF ITS TIME.

  • Chi-town born and bred 1959....this never gets old! Thank you J-5.

  • I remember buying this album in 1972, when I was still living in the south of England. I came over to the States in 1981 and made sure it came over with me. I waited forever to a see re-run of this concert on TV and I mean FOREVER! It never happened, I finally was able to watch it on youtube after I had at last did away with my dial up Internert Service. That same year we lost Michael. Go figure!!

  • Great Groove Era - Jacksons Five the was a of better group this era - Fantastic! - MJ great talent! No words - RIP Michael;

  • Anybody recognize the Public Enemy sample? God, I love PE. Musicology galore within a handful of samples.

  • @sex6cult9revolution No doubt about it! It's at :27 ... the baseline + the insane crowd scream was sampled in 'By the Time I get to Arizona" by PE. I think the original was done by Isaac Hayes, but this version is way heavier. Legendary.

  • back on that old shit/pick my hoes with the same finger i pick my nose with

  • I remember being sure I didn't miss this special! I'm not embarrassed to say after seeing the Jackson 5 on TV, I was inspired to bass guitar. And I've been playing over 30 years.

  • @drsonwhy43 I remember it like it was yesterday. Me and my older sister watched it along with the neighbors kids who were our friends. it was real cool back then. one thing I remember is that the streets were very quiet because everyone was at home watching the show!!!

  • was Isaak Hayes first

  • I was at this concert. It took some maneuvering but I made to the second row.

  • my daughter is in love with Usher, i myself does'nt think he can sing ...am i a hater

  • So awesome. If that was in Chicago. I was probably there.

  • Man the very beginning is tight. Everyone take your eyes off Mike for a minute, rewind it a few takes and see what I mean - each brother got down. They gave you a show and that's what I remember. Amphitheatre anyone?

  • this is way better than justin bieber! message me if u wanna do a jackson 5 contest

  • fucking awesome

  • I remember going to this concert back in the 70's! I was on top of the world. I STILL remember the feeling. =) I remember this routine very well and I went home and wore out that Going Back To Indiana album OUT. haha Life was sweet back then!! Music was GREAT! The Jackson's will forever be loved by me. Thank so much for posting this. Great memories.

  • Joseph was smart. If the older boys had danced like Mike and Marlon pumping their hips they would have been called vulgar at that time and thrown off TV, but he let the little boys dance and how could anyone sensor or call a little boy vulgar? We had never seen dancing like that, and it was exciting! It made the Jacksons a household name black and white.

  • @mwilson11100 Cleaver observation

  • great performance!! I love the move Michael does after he says walk on that is so cute. He truly was one of a kind!!!!

  • much as i love mj and i like this performance but i just think michael just started out to young doing all this stuff it just seem like to much pressure in work even though he was good at it he was just a little boy still growing up.having even lived life yet!!!if i was that young in talented i would rather wait intill im older to get in show bussiness.but mike was too good its like he was meant to start out at that age.

  • lmao the lady @ 3:30 was working that shit

  • These young brothers are DESTROYING that stage!!! Listen to the misic that Tito and Jermaine are laying down...the dance steps...the vocals!!!! I remember when this special came on TV we were GLUED to the tv!!! MEMORIES!!!! Chicago up in here!!!

  • i love it the song dance moves everything wish i was there sometimes i regret i was born in the 80's :( but i still grew up on his music :)

  • from 0:00 to 1:40 ws the BEST dance moves I have EVER seen from the Jacksons!!!! They were so precise!!! I had to watch that beginning over, cause I couldn't believe Mike and marlon's "humping"!!! ha ha ha Hilarious!!!

The most influential figure of all our lives in any industry. Prince, Madonna, McCartney noone can comand the attention of the Thriller. He was the best from the day Ms. Katherine delivered him.

The moves, the costumes, overall swagger...hot like FI-YAH!!!

  • Jermaine was rockin the bass...

    Tito was so fire..

    Whoever was on the drums....speechless.

  • Michael did that humping on the beat on the first thing on this video back on their first TV appearance at a Beauty show in 69, Marlon just did it better in this video, go to jackson 5 Its your thing rare on YouTube!

  • Just Blaze sampled this for Jay-Z's PSA.

  • I thought so.

  • The Bomb squad used it for Public Enemy's "By The Time I Get To Arizona" and Non Phxion used it in 'Cult Killer".

  • sorry cuz but ur wrong!

psa sounds NUTHIN like this. none of these elements are found in the sound at all. even the tempo is dif. if anything there MAY have been an interpolation of a piece of the song, but for the most part not there.

  • Your in fact wrong. Search Youtube for the PSA Remix - it is a total copy of this joint with a beat added in.

  • in fact THE REMIX is def sampled up, but u didnt comment on the remix! te comment came from the original PSA, and again this aint that ! furthermore jay didnt flow on the remix. but its wuteva.

  • Mike doin the camel walk at the 1:30 mark. That was tight.

  • does anyone know if the jacksons ever recorded walk on? if so where can i find it? i love it!

  • Marlon, was the best dancer on this song!

  • Agreed!!! I think overall he was an awesome dancer!!

  • This was one of my favorite songs, and performances. Thanks for the post. WALK ON!!!

  • IHHHHH SHI!T!

  • One of the things that stood out to me is that Berry Gordy could have actually let them create their own stuff. They were all talented enough to at least play their own instruments in the studio

  • That whole 'Walk On' routine was FIYAH!!! I love that dance that Marlon did, lol. Go head little man!...

    I LOVE U MICHAAAAEEEL!!!
