The rape in the original was far more unsettling. I think it is anyway, cause of the time the movie came out. Same with the even worse and much longer rape in the original, I Spit On Your Grave. These movies were pure 70's - 80's terror exploitation. Think about it, not too long after Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, throughout Nixon's reign and just before Reagan-Nomics era. So all this craziness and blood-shed, free living, drugs this combined and leaked onto the screen. All of society's evil to see
