it wasnt focusing on de la soul in particular, but using that as an example. can you find actual LEGIT hip hop on the radio? how bout on mtv? you can count the 'bunch of artists' on one hand. wiz? trash. drake? so much repitition in his lyrics just talking about the same thing in every record, but his production isnt half bad. dont get me started on wayne or ross or even kanye. hip hop's last glowing hope: common, kweli, mighty mos. theyre the only voices still being heard mainstream.

Real talk though, I love old school, tyler the creator, drake, and wiz khalifa. Tho I some of their songs, specific songs from these artists i just dig & think are chill. I understand people saying Hip hop today is crap, and old school is better, but I think music and artists in general just always evolve and change the style, that's just the process. I don't know if this means anything to you but the background music is borrowed from Young-Holt Unlimited "Soulful Strut". It's been ripped a few times. (Grover Washington Jr.'s version is great.)
