If anyone saw State of Origin game 3 in 2011 they would have seen Jharal Yow Yeh run down Hayne over a 40m sprint when Hayne had a 3-4m flying start so for anyone who thinks that Jarryd Hayne is the fastest in RL then forget it. There are others who weren't in this race who would have left him 4 dead. Same with the Union, Aussie rules and soccer guys. This wasn't a true representation of Australia's fastest footballers.

Union players have much more specialized positions than in league... the wingers are either enormous ball runners (Lomu, Sailor or Tuquri) or super quick and agile (Turner, Robinson) not a combination of both like in league

Inglis is not a speedster... He is a power runner, does the damage in the first 20 metres
I was surprised by Barba he did well, and by hayne i thought his strength was speed through agility but he can run...
Union players have much more specialized positions than in league... the wingers are either enormous ball runners (Lomu, Sailor or Tuquri) or super quick and agile (Turner, Robinson) not a combination of both like in league

@skamottie why did you just name two league-cum-union-cum-league players (Tuquri and Sailor)? Hardly a good way to make your point about two different sports by using players that play/played both.
And your assessment is outdated. Which is why you have wingers in the All Blacks like Cory Jane and Israel Dagg who combine all round skills. Winger is no longer a specialised position.

@dooshsayswhat Jennings yes. Forget Slater. He's at least 10 metres slower than Hayne. Very nimble over a short distance, but don't be fooled into thinking he's got any real speed over 100m. He hasn't.
