This is probably a stupid question, but how do you start a game where you can actually start on the tarmac instead of being directly airborne or at the beginning of the runway?
i just got this game but i dont know howto start online, i tryed hyperloby but i cant downloade it, is there enny other way to play online?? plz answer
theres no rule. Maybe on the servers website.... . But if you are wanting to play via LAN, youcan find your (or the host´s) ip out by typing in a console ipconfig.
That fight starting at around 7:00 was intense! How do you stay with him so well so close? I have to set my convergence at around 200 meters because I can't stay closer than that for very long or I'll lose 'em... I think my problem is I need to work on precision closure rate management, usually my efforts to adjust are too little, too late, so my distance varies from 50 meters to 500+... And nice gunnery, too, very quick!

have you tried Spits vs 109s or Zekes vs. Wildcats?No icons. its tougher cuz 70% of the battle is won or lost depending on who sees and identifies first. You're attacking a black dot that has no distance rate so it may take awhile before you recognize what the closure speed is and which way they're going. tougher to check 6 cuz, again, its a little black dot, not a red or blue icon. great flying still, you're better than me.
Im amazed that B-17 at 9:05 didnt tear you apart because every time ive tried to attack a AI B-17 from any angle I get ripped apart. Maybe its just me i dunno but ive found them to be hard to bring down.

Yes I am a real pilot. I wish I could fly the spit though, hehe, we only got one here in Sweden and it's the old foxes that gets their hands wet on that one =).
And I agree! Sometimes I WISH I was born in the 1940-1950s'... good planes indeed. But there's still a lot of similiarities between a Cessna and a Spit (laugh and troll, morons). Sorry to say, but even in a full real server, flying a late spit of a La 7 agains german aircraft isnt that difficult as long as you are 1 vs 1 and you keep your head on a swivel. Last time I flew a spit mk IX I shot down one Fw190 easy (friendly flak gave him away) second guy shot down my friend and we engaged. I made several mistakes, he flew (as far as I could tell, flawless) and I still killed him... and that was without icons...
Well, my god for making such a fuss. I'm a pilot IRL and we do this because we find it fun to test our virtual wings and do different maneouvers\try out different wingman tactics.
Because we want this, we tend to find it more fun with fast paced, aerodynamicly correct, fights. True, the element of suprise is gone, but we do play full switch at times as well... but we still find both versions fine without all the drama we get on youtube regarding the damned labels. I like the video and the great flying. The music, though is horrible. It really detracts from some great footage. BTW, Game cam is OK, but Growler Gun Cam (growlersoftware dot com)is so much better you will throw rocks at Game Cam. LOL I've tried a lot of video capture programs, including Game Cam and Growler makes the best and by quite a lot.

I usually play on CZ-dedicateds, Warclouds, Winds of war and other non-external views servers. I join friends or other servers to, depending of who is on. I like playing on ubi(dot)com lobby too, cause people there are so easy to kill. :)

Yes you are right not to judge me. And I can comment, because I like the plane, I just deeply believe it has too many advantages to other planes (Doras, Bf-109s, Antons,...).And the fact that it was very rare in WWII. So with it's maneuverybility, speed, climb rate, strong ammunition, and really good turning cicle players wanna fill the lack of expirience. This plane is often not avaiable on full-dif or almost full-dif servers, because it is just too good.
Agreed, very agreed. I've read about the complains on the "superspit" as well, and I agree that it's rather un-realistic. But I've been shot down dozens of times in this machine, usually against boom-n-zoomers. The right tactic applied to the right opponent usually works.
We fly the other spits when flying realistic. This was on a UFO server, some people we shot down were in jets! Also, sorry for judging you, but I just dislike the term "noob", especially as blunt as that. Keep it in mind.

Unfourtenatly it wasn't very smart of me. That Zero that pulled up behind me just after he crashed bagged me a couple of minutes after I cut the recording. My wingman was KIA at the moment ^^.

ahhh i need help! i got il2 sturmovik..the game has pacific fighters..ace expansion and forgotten battles all on one disc...it says DVD rom on the disc but when i put it in the disc thing it doesnt work, nothing comes up! how do i install it!?

Poor gunnery, and your both in spit 25lbs. Why online do people only fly the LA or the Spit 25lbs apart from the odd few. My planes I fly are FW190A9 which actually takes skill to fly.
There's quite the large bunch of people in 190'ies as well, so no hard feelings on using common airplanes now, eh? Also, our poor gunnery is backed up by our teamwork, so we make even ;).
The Spit takes skill to fly, but different skills than the 190. The 190 is a boom-n-zoom airplane. We don't use the spit that way...
It's the latest version, but the mirror has nothing to do with the versions. It can be turned on through a remappable key. Check out the options and you'll find it!

An interesting flight compilation, but I think your RAF Spitfire pilot would have been in trouble, as he appears to shoot down an American P38 Lightning and a B17 Fortress! Which makes a change as it's usually the other way round.
spitfires are the sports cars of aircraft great for speed and surprise with six guns but hurricanes are the muscle. slower yes but can take a beating and can give one hell of a better one back with eight guns
Trust me friend, any british pilot from WWII would have chosen the Spit over the Hurri. The Hurri lacked in almost all areas and the spit was one of the best airplanes of the war. The Hurri was also older and a second rate plane.
as i said the spit had six guns to the hurris eight
the spit my be the faster and able to fly higher but the hurri was more manuverable able to out turn bf109s where the spit couldnt and had more armour
in the war the spits would take on the fighters and the hurris would take out the bombers ( im not knocking the spit its a good plane but i would fly the hurri because it could stay in the air even with part of the wing or tail missing)
Actually a Hurri could hold it's own against a 109 because it was very tough, monuverable, and well armed. I flown by a good pilot it can do serious damage. It's the man not the machine that matters in combat.
Hurricane was obsolete by 1942-43 so on what basis do you base that comment on? Hurricanes were mainly used against German Bombers because they lacked superior handling and speed but were better gun platforms due to its wings and guns. Spitfires were better suited against German fighters because of their handling and speed.
Oh, it's quite simple really. A small movement in real life equals a large movement in the game. I'm usually not moving my head more than 20 degrees to either side of the screen (that's 40 in total), but that equals to 180 degrees of movement in the game (360 total). I am also able to keep my eyes focused on the screen at all times.
They're great. If you are thinking about getting one and are into Simulators I can only recommend it. I never was unsatisfied.

find the IP address for the server and copy-paste it to the "Multiplayer - Join server" in IL2

The question is what plane u are using. Best B17-Killers are FW190 and ME110 with full 151-Gunpodpower.
The 109 only use if u have a model that supports the 151 gunpods.

You can turn on or off the unlimited ammo in the difficulty screen. But if you have limited ammo and you run out, you're out of luck.

One odd thing was you were flying Spits with English markings, yet were flying from Blue airfields (normally axis ones?)
Other than that, nice!
Were the engine sound effects added post recording or... my game sounds hardly as meaty as that.

Exactly for those reasons. It's vital to online combat.
Go download a program called "Hyperlobby". Everyone plays on it and it's really easy to get into.

Why not just edit it into the game yourself? Would make a nice mod wouldn't it? I'd be first in line to download it =).

Poor gunnery, and your both in spit 25lbs. Why online do people only fly the LA or the Spit 25lbs apart from the odd few. My planes I fly are FW190A9 which actually takes skill to fly.

There's quite the large bunch of people in 190'ies as well, so no hard feelings on using common airplanes now, eh? Also, our poor gunnery is backed up by our teamwork, so we make even ;).
The Spit takes skill to fly, but different skills than the 190. The 190 is a boom-n-zoom airplane. We don't use the spit that way...

It's the latest version, but the mirror has nothing to do with the versions. It can be turned on through a remappable key. Check out the options and you'll find it!

An interesting flight compilation, but I think your RAF Spitfire pilot would have been in trouble, as he appears to shoot down an American P38 Lightning and a B17 Fortress! Which makes a change as it's usually the other way round.

spitfires are the sports cars of aircraft great for speed and surprise with six guns but hurricanes are the muscle. slower yes but can take a beating and can give one hell of a better one back with eight guns

Trust me friend, any british pilot from WWII would have chosen the Spit over the Hurri. The Hurri lacked in almost all areas and the spit was one of the best airplanes of the war. The Hurri was also older and a second rate plane.

as i said the spit had six guns to the hurris eight
the spit my be the faster and able to fly higher but the hurri was more manuverable able to out turn bf109s where the spit couldnt and had more armour
in the war the spits would take on the fighters and the hurris would take out the bombers ( im not knocking the spit its a good plane but i would fly the hurri because it could stay in the air even with part of the wing or tail missing)

Actually a Hurri could hold it's own against a 109 because it was very tough, monuverable, and well armed. I flown by a good pilot it can do serious damage. It's the man not the machine that matters in combat.

Hurricane was obsolete by 1942-43 so on what basis do you base that comment on? Hurricanes were mainly used against German Bombers because they lacked superior handling and speed but were better gun platforms due to its wings and guns. Spitfires were better suited against German fighters because of their handling and speed.

I never understood how track ir works .. because if you turn your head left or right then you wont be looking at the screen..

Oh, it's quite simple really. A small movement in real life equals a large movement in the game. I'm usually not moving my head more than 20 degrees to either side of the screen (that's 40 in total), but that equals to 180 degrees of movement in the game (360 total). I am also able to keep my eyes focused on the screen at all times.
They're great. If you are thinking about getting one and are into Simulators I can only recommend it. I never was unsatisfied.
