  • this man is dead. rip

  • @W857TYWH408576NW0348 what happened to him?

  • @kelicomfg

Sometimes forget to button up my shirt all the way or my sleeve has rolled up exposing part of my arm exposed. It happened at TAFE when I was doing my MMAW unit and holy smokes .. not fun to say the least. I've seen people welding in singlets and sleeveless tops frequently and all i can think is, is it really that much effort to grab your long sleeve shirt that is just sitting 5 steps away on your work bench?

  • it would be nice to see some of these guys actually show some safety procedures.

I mean.. some of the people seeing this are going to think.. "hey, thats cool, I can weld with my short sleeves, or in a tank top"..

I've got young people asking me about welding all the time, and when i show them what's going on.. the first thing is COVER UP.. cancer is too easy with this stuff. then, of course, the glasses, gaurds etc.. but.. if you dont know.it's a crappy thing to find out the hard way.

  • Yeah what your suppose to do is hold the torch over the weld which is called post flow. To protect the crater or end of your weld. Let the argon cool the weld down or you can get cracks in your weld. I'm more of a mig and stick welder. Unless I'm working with aluminum or stainless. But even with aluminum I'll use an aluminum mig

    Welder

  • Note, once done with a tig weld, don't pull the torch away immediately like this video shows. Hold the torch over the weld and let the argon protect the puddle as it cools. The argon keeps flowing for a couple seconds after the arc terminates.

  • very nice ty

  • I've always said that the American Chopper show should add some "instruction" to their shows...like this guy is doing. Thanks for the vid, it would be nice if you did more and more indepth.

  • Great intro, thanks.

  • v-twins. delicious.

  • Kudos expertwelder! You nailed it riight on the head!!

  • No fucking sleeves! What a fool! Helllllloooo skin cancer!

  • @weldhawk1

    Workin on the tan ;D

  • @WinstoN850

    nicely put. my thoughts exactly!!!

tatty's dont protect you from skin cancer.

  • whats the clamp for? grounding?

  • @bigbradford69 Yes.

  • Yeah, I agree with streetnarrator, you guys are real dicks. This guy is just giving some good advice on something he obviously does for a living.......maybe it's not the most technical type of welding (I don't know) but it's the sort of stuff most people who watch these clips want to know about. Why are you guys watching an instructional clip anyway? I mean it's titled 'Welding 101' for fuck's sake

  • shut the f up and post a video of youll so incredible work , FAGS!!!!!!!!

  • I have forgot more about Tig welding than this guy knows.

Rookie, and not a good one.

  • O good another biker making a bike that looks like a carnival ride who thinks hes an expert cause he can weld a mild steel gas tank together.

  • mig is easy tig is hard and i think tig rod er-70s2 is the same thing as mig wire er-70s2

  • any tips for mig welding please

  • so wot is easyer mig or tig welding ive only welded twice some im absotly useless

  • mig is easier, but tig once you get the hang of it is alright

  • @wiliamheadwoods MIG, it's simple, 3/4 inch away from the metal and squeeze the trigger. For TIG you have to strike the metal like a match with the electrode to start the connection but it can get stuck and need to be broken off, you will constantly be moving the elecetrode downwards as it burns off.

  • @wiliamheadwoods mig is easier but tig is good but prefer mig but i do arc welding for most things

  • that bike is insane!

  • lol... not if he saw the way i used to weld as a beginner...

  • bozza69 u aint got a clue wat ur talkin bout tig does get plenty of peno cuz u can see it melting. iv welded 30 millemetres thick to 10 millemetres thick its alot better way to weld if u wnt to keep it clean n make it look gd n u can clearly see he knoes wat hes doing hes preaty gd

  • nice designed tanks, everything else speaks for it self...

    cheers

  • thank you very much for this vid!!!! dude you are one hell of an artist!!! again, thanks

  • nice vid ive done tig welding and mig i like mig better jus cuz i screw up less lol but tig kool 2 =]

  • tig welding gives more peno the mig lol r u for real..... with tig u get fuck all peno coz the polarity it uses tigs good for thin stuff and root runs on pipe etc not coz gives good peno

  • Thanks Jeff, nice video, nice explanation. I appreciate your skills & time.

  • aside from a cold start and heating work piece first, I could do just as good of a weld with a mig. there's a reason for the full face shield-don't forget the sun block for your tatoo..and mig uses electric power too. Nice weld

  • Great vid and even better welding technique...you are a natural my man !!

  • that bike is killer!, thanks for the 101, keep it up!.

  • great job explaining how to tig now i understand it more thanks! i know how to mig weld and stick weld i want to learn how to tig

  • Cool!
