Please visit my channel for the unpopular truth about homosexuality.
A person does not need hatred or any kind of phobia in order to acknowledge important differences between heterosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption and homosexual attraction / behavior / marriage / adoption. Even non-religious people know this.
Homosexual activists, with support from the media, have succeeded at framing themselves as noble victims; it's an effective way to push a social agenda.
I understand what you are saying @GrahamSMcCann and you make a good point.
My problem has always been...why are human beings aware of our emotions and our mortality and our "souls" if you will (the center of our emotions and desires, what drives us to do the things we do) and no other living thing seems to be as complex in this way?
And the other is why are there "never any athiests in foxholes"? Why is it that when we are faced with our own death...everything changes?
@SpongemomSweatpants 1. Because our brains have evolved to make a complex emotions possible.other animals share in these emotions.. just not to the extent we do.. dogs can be worried, nervous, happy, and they think about morals as well..''its good not to bite humans" it's just more limited than us
2. Atheists respond to fear of death just like others.. but they don't instantly believe in a god.. Foxholes do not give any evidence for a god.. they just show people under emotional distress
It's just that it seems to be an intellectually questionable to say that the world proves that there is a 'Creator' based on any particular religion.
If a group didn't grow up being taught any religion, the world is still there to learn from in a scientific manner. There would be no way of getting religious information unless these mythologies were passed down and taught. Moderately religious people seem to take modern information about the world, and fit it to their mythology.
@GrahamSMcCann Then how can the atheists delude themselve and believe that hydrogen and oxygen, electrons and protons, should first produce themselves, then be the source for all other beings, and finally decree the laws that regulate themselves and the rest of the material world?
@phildirt3 Before he enters the realm of science and knowledge with all its concerns, man is able to perceive certain truths by means of these innate perceptions. But after entering the sphere of science and philosophy and filling his *brain* with various proofs and deductions, he may forget his natural and innate perceptions or begin to doubt them. It is for this reason that when man moves beyond his innate nature to delineate a belief, differences begin to appear.
One could ask Jacoby 'what creator?' The Abrahamic? Or any other belief throughout history? It's just that it seems to be an intellectually questionable argument to say that there is a 'Creator' or that the world proves that there is a 'Creator.'
For those interested in seeing Shermer having his ass handed to him by the brilliant and far more "Bright" Stephen C. Meyer, check out my profile. Once you see the intellectual beatdown Meyer gives him you'll never look at Shermer the same again.
Shermer means cocksucking bastard in norwegian..
