  • Still rather gross.

  • Fuck culture. This is torture.

  • @brittybby2010 fucking learn some science bitches _l_

  • It is one's culture to eat fish like this, you do not have to right to tell a culture what they can and cannot do, get out and leave us be.

  • Disgustibule. Me no like unneccesary suffering

  • Really? is it so hard not to just kill it. Just put him out of its misery, itll taste the same either way -_-

  • IKEZUKURI your ass!! u need to see your doctor.. ur sick people there is no correlation between fresh and eat a live u idiot..

  • Hate fish charades! Oh fish you win!

  • Dinner and a show.

Fish are very proud to have this job, both feeding and entertaining the guests.

  • @Nomasain I think you would be proud of yourself if that is you on table and in cut by the IKEZUKURI FCKING CHEF.. and your friend can start eat you ugly balls part by parts..

  • @stevr1en I have a new word for you: SARCASM ;-)

  • hey you japanese bustard ....bad NEWS . Your country and some other lands will go under water in 2012....So watch out . Loserrrrs

  • @AHC63AMG i love how idiots like you make americans seem even more racist or stupid.

  • @bluefuzzy

    Sure.....Not a problem ;)

  • Japan deserver Hiroshima, Nagasake and the Fukushima nuclear accident.

  • @notuern nope nobody deserves those tragedies, not even you even though you're a dick

  • @borqies

At least i have a dick.

Stop hugging those trees and get a job instead.

  • @notuern I'm sure someone with a good job would be educated therefore he would be accepting of other people. therefore I conclude that you either have a shit job or your just a kid with shit parents. oh yea forgot I'm a volunteer for my local hospital but yea i hope to get a job in medicine soon.

  • @borqies Im educated in musical theory and composistion and have to great and loving parents. I cant see how having an education would make you "accepting of other people".

  • @notuern I'm sorry it was inappropriate to assume that since I don't know you in person. however, you also assumed things about me. I guess you'll just continue to hate a group of people even though most of them are innocent. well whatever I shouldn't have said anything in the first place

  • oohhh mannn What are you doing

Do you not realize the screams of his heart..???? motherfucker

  • It's it just it's nerves that's making it move...Fucking dickheads.

  • fucking monster people.

  • Moving on .. to REAL problems .. 48 women are being raped every hour in Congo, America's bonds have been dropped to a rating of of AA and people in India, Afraica and China etc are still starving. And shark carcasses are still being thrown into the water with only 5% of the meat being used. Now this here is a dilemma.

Be grateful this entire fish is being consumed, you may dislike the method, but it's not being wasted. An animal cannot be compared to a human. Remember that.

  • ...Nerves, people. Nerves. The fish is dead, but the nerve impulses are still going off. It's like when you squish a bug and their leg still twitches.

  • @EmpressCethlisss Actually Ikezukuri is not gutted, so when you eat it, it is still living. The spinal cord is not severed, and the head is not hammered, so the fish is still very much alive. I don't believe that this Ikezukuri, as the twitching seems to be just the nerves and there"S an opening further down where it may have been gutted.

  • Did you actually see ALIVE fish?

  • GLaDOS-Still Alive for this video /watch?v=Y6ljFaKRTrI

  • Grow up you fucking "PLD U R HURTIGN IT NO NO PLS" fags, its already dead. Its just having spasms, you fuckhead morons.

  • @Littlesam1718 Actually you idiotic bigot ikizukuri is literally LIVING fish this fish is actually alive when it is served. So perhaps you should learn to use proper english like a normal person and do research before you make yourself look stupid in front of thousands MORE people.

  • @yumakutsuu wat is english

  • You guys realize the fish is already dead right ?

  • Who the fuck want to eat this?

  • even papua new guinea tribe hunters kill their food before eating it

  • WAHHH ITS STILL ALIV I TO STUIB TO UDER STOOD LIF SO I TINK THS IS MAEN T_T

  • @ihateschoolx10 you should stay in school

  • Y cnt they jst kill it

  • I do not understand why people would eat a live fish when a fish killed 5 minutes ago would be just as fresh. Is it the novelty, the entertainment value (sadism), or one-upsmanship (need to better than the next guy who is squeamish)?

  • Wow , vegans are very angry people. I think ill have some inNout today.

  • may be salt makes this.

  • And that right there ladies and gentlemen is racism

  • @mrkabbazi

    /watch?v=zhlhSQ5z4V4 Who's pathetic now?

  • WhatTheShit???

  • So many violent comments.. Just put it this way, do you think the fish would give a shit if you were on that plate and he was the one standing over you ready to eat you?

  • I'd go for its eye ball first

  • no its its nervs i think

  • @kyla4425 Nope. the fish is still living (heart is still beating)

  • FUCKING CRUEL PEOPLE

  • @1greatdude MOTHER FUCKER DEAL WITH IT FAGGOT GO SUCK PETA's DICK

  • its called nerve reflex ><''

  • Humans have the knowledge that other animals feel pain. Bears do not.

  • @heimlich1017 And how would you know that bears do not have the knowledge that other animals feel pain? Bears aren't the only ones either, other fish eat fish, it's nature live with it. And just because if a bear doesn't have the knowledge, the fish still suffers right?

  • That's what the fish say about Japanese people in the ocean after they sent tsunami.

  • @mrglobalnews It's okay because the land animals of America already sent numerous tornado to numerous states.

  • Oh waaaaah, a fish is twitching on a plate! Oh, the cruelty. No one despairs for the millions of children starving across the world, but damn-it if a fish twitches on a plate it's just heart wrenching!

  • because bears and humans totally have comparable cognitive abilities : /

  • Japanese cruel dishes

  • @skulltrail09 now i undrstand why people in my father country eating fish without cook , maybe they not have fire .for cooking hehee

  • @MyDarez

you can't judge one thing just using ur tiny perspective.

japanese, especially, believe that everything fresh is good, if u dont agree u still have option not to eat it.

but u dont have authorization / rights to judge others using ur own & different perspective.

at least their civilization greater than others

  • so much bitchin lol no matter how many people in a DIFFERENT culture moan and bitch, they will still eat like this. they don't even realize this is "INHUMANE" why? because it is a delicacy. it is valued. freshness is valued. its so ignorant to see people bitch about something that is different. you wanna make a revolutionary change on how a whole population of people eat? goto their country and lets see how long you will last.

  • yummy! there are places here in the US that do fish this way. i have had it several times. its delicious and hilarious to eat it while it watches!

  • Nature knows how much Japanese love their seafood, so she decided to serve a banquet on Fukushima

  • Comment removed

  • All your fucking bitching bout whether or not the fish was alive. I wonder if it tastes good.

  • I hope you guys know that it is NOT alive, that it was you call MUSCLE SPASMS

  • @tammyboy2008

You're such a fucking ignorant retard, shame on you for putting Germany's face into shame.

  • human trash

  • Actually, it's not alive ... :)

Look at this link on youtube :) ...

    youtube.com/watch?v=vbKmhl2SSVg&feature=related

  • @AbdulJabar8000 why you mad?

  • It's probably completely dead. If the fish were still alive it would be trying to "breathe" still. The movement is due to the nerve still sending out impulses. Calm down, people!

  • @Sarahmajig I hope youre right :(

  • It makes no sense why anyone would worry about what suffering their food goes through while grinding and chewing it's flesh in their mouth. I think it would be difficult for me to have any emotional connection with the food I'm prepared to eat and enjoy at the same time. So unless your a vegan your just a hypocrit. Except for plants ALL food that ended up on your plate experience suffering in some way. Perhaps a week stranded on an island with no fire will change the way you look at food.

  • @asamotoaaron

HAHAHAHAHA, i love your comment xD

  • What would you prefer?

Being eaten alive or after you are dead?

Imagine your leg or your stomach being cut open while you watch and can feel what’s happening.

Only sick people would only see this as a challenge, and not as the totally perverted thing it really is.

  • @jhl1908

Dude, can you do some FUCKING research before you FUCKING post a FUCKING comment?

    Thank you ~

  • I don't see this as morally wrong, just kinda gross. In the west we chose to remove the head and tail of our fish before cooking. I don't find the head of a fish to be appetizing, Anyway, if you like to eat your fish like this than more power to you and enjoy. Don't listen to the punk ass vegetarians because they'll try to make you feel guilty for eating meat. Fish is delicious and very good for you.

  • its not alive guys they twitch when they are dead like chickens do

  • im such a hypocrite. when its sashimi. man. although it sucks. what can u do.

but when its china burning the fish in oil and serving it with a moving mouth, or killin those damned snakes... then im like omg china is gross!

    damned hypocrite.

    oh wells:(

  • Nature has punished the Japanese earthquake

  • @naxervse

    and tsunami

  • When the Japanese vivisect a fish, it's called ikezukuri. When they vivisect humans, it's called research. Look up Unit 731.

  • Why does it have to suffer as you slowly consume it?

  • By people doing this shit we are comparing our selfs like animals and not humans! Oh yeah bears eat them alive but that's nature and a bear its not going to take out a knife and kill the fish. But us we could do this, but no, stupid people decide to make the poor fish suffer and cook it alive and eat it alive. This is just wrong.. I think I rather be a bear cause we are converting us the humans more than animals.

  • Fish was dead, just nerves

  • What would you guys consider fresher... a fish that's been in a tank at the restaurant with 50 other fish for about a week served live or a fish that was just pulled out of the water in nature, had it's head cut and was served within one minute.

Ahh.... so we see now, freshness can have many meanings. And so the sickness of people is well displayed when you see a fish being sliced and diced without being made unconsciouss for 'freshness' of course.

  • i want to eat a live croc....

  • @nullpointer66 in that case i would like a Ikezukuri godzilla.....

  • If you need to kill something just kill it. There is no need to keep making it's existence miserable just for fun and show....

  • this is so fucking sick...

  • Sushi should be banned as food.

  • @bacomiric ur an idiot

  • all i need to say FOOD IS FOOD :]

  • @ryukenhayabusa

Yeah. Next dish in my list is.... Hmm... .Human brain. Yeah that should do it... yami!

  • We humans survived because of our barbaric ways, so stop whining about that alive sushi, and maybe some of you guys are sons and daughters of cannabilistic ancestors, especially in the time were food are scarce.

  • Humans are smart enough to have choices of right and wrong. This is wrong...I can't eat a fish that's in pain or have body nerve spasms, that's just creepy

  • its the nerves

  • i dont care if they eat it but to eat it alive is wrong

  • @laywa84 tell that to a lion

  • If you find it uncomfortable to eat animals then don't. But you can't call it cruel when humans eat animals because animals eat animals so therefore they're no different from us. We're all just following 'nature'. It's like a lion ripping the flesh off a zebra, are you going to condemn the lion for animal cruelity?

  • Looks good.

    Well, now I'M hungry.

  • its reflexes

  • When bears RIP FISHES APART and leave half eaten carcass around. Its called nature. When humans cut fishes. Its barbaric. Humanity. You left me in despair

  • @Jun937 humanity being the key word. we are able to empathise. bears are not.

  • @Jun937 lmfao so true

  • Because bears or other animals don't know the difference between killing it quickly with minimal pain or prolong its suffering. We do on the other hand and this is sick.

  • @Jun937 - well, I get your point, but humans have a greater intelligence than bears. I mean, is it necessary to do this, if its possible to kill it first and not prolong its suffering? no offence...

  • @Jun937 A bear catch's a fish for food to survive... These places get fish, keep them alive while they cook them and then serve them alive as a gimmick to attract even more customers..... Yeah exactly the same.

  • @bigbuckzs

Exactly. Wtf @ Jun, I hope someone stitches your asshole closed and keeps feeding you and feeding you and feeding you.

  • @Jun937 And partly, that's the very same reason there's such a thing as an inhumane act. Although, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being like a bear but would you rather be when you're already human? Then again, there's nothing wrong with a dying fish on your plate hahaha.

  • @Jun937

so you mean we are not part of nature?

humans used to do that to animals, and still doing it now.

how do you think you eat your burgers? cow meat magically goes onto your plate? bacon suddenly appears on the market?

of course they all get killed, whats the difference?

  • @Jun937

Except, it's true. When a bear does it, it's because it cant get on its hind legs, walk to a kitchen, cut its head off and sautee it. We humans have the capability to do that and choose not to because of "presentation". It's fucking stupid. What's the point of making it suffer more than necessary?

  • @alicia2570 humans by no means have a way to measure the amount of suffering that animals go through

  • @parrrrot

If you are presented with a suffering baby how do you know if it feels pain or not? How do you know how much pain it's enduring? It can't speak but it can make noise. It can cry. So can animals, they yelp and scream. That's how you measure it. Don't try excuse humanity's bar bare actions.

  • @alicia2570 you still cant measure it, thats what im talking about, measuring the severity. there are no objective measures that we can use for animals because pain is subjective.

  • @Jun937 The difference between a bear and humanity is that a human knows better.

  • @Jun937 i guess your right.

  • @Jun937 Yes when dogs eat shit off the floor its called nature when humans do it its disgusting. When a dog sniffs the crotch of a lady its natural, when a human does it its weird. We are supposed to act more civilized than animals in nature so your point has no validity. DESPAIR THAT LOL!!

  • @Jun937 Exactly all i see in those piranha eats mouse videos is "FKN AWSOME HIT I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN"

  • Comment removed

  • @Jun937 A fish dies in a matter of seconds when eaten by another animal. The animal doesn’t put it on a plate and pick at it for 20 minutes. Half eaten carcass is still dead.

  • @BugattiveyronO1 That fish probably isn't still conscious, despite the muscle twitching.

  • @stardust005 They don't have a conscious in the first place though. Either way, people need to stop bitching over this. That looks really good.

  • @BugattiveyronO1 how do you know an fish dies in seconds? ive seen many videos of fish still moving after torn in half by bears. Im pretty sure that animal hasnt been for more than 10 minutes on that plate. It would probably die before that time. This is just nature get over yourself.

  • @JeTuThem Yeah im with this dude get over it guys this is nature; animals eating other animals. We hunt animals to survive, and if it werent for animals for food, clothing, even shelter and medical experiments, the human race would not be ANYWHERE as advanced as it is today. This is the food chain at its best, and while I believe in killing an animal without making it suffer, what comes first is our survival.

  • @BugattiveyronO1

are you saying that animals have morals? utter bullshit. a bear doesn't give two shits about how the salmon is feeling while it's eating it. please, don't bring morals or sympathy into a scenario which doesn't concern either of them.

  • @freighter014 You are correct. A bear doesn’t have morals, just like people who eat fish which is still alive.

  • @BugattiveyronO1 Touche.

  • @BugattiveyronO1

how do you know its still alive?

    its called nervous system twitching

  • @Jun937 how so and the other 42 thumbs up explain to me...we humans are finding more ways to be more not barbaric lol...education goes a long way you know :).. you guys want us to go back to the medieval times or b.c. lol

  • @Jun937 It's the fact they go out their way to keep it alive for as long as possible.

A bear won't keep fish alive on purpose,it catches and eats it alive or not. Also a bear has a powerful bite, when it bites onto a fish that bite normally kills the fish or it devourers it so quickly fish don't stay alive long, seconds,a few minuets at most.

Bears don't knowingly tournament fish by deliberately keeping it alive for 20 minuets why/after it's eaten it.

So yes, it's more "barbaric" than a bear.

  • @MizziTheFoxdragon

What, are you really that ignorant that you think a fish, with its extremely limited brain capacity and nerve structure, will feel pain in the same way humans do? Its like saying a fish will be able to love another fish. It simply cannot feel torment nor suffering, because its a fucking fish.

The fact that basic biology has failed you is pretty barbaric of society.

  • @Jun937

the difference lies, like so often, with the self-awareness

when the bear rips the fish apart there is not exactly a whole lot of thought involved, fish gets caught, gets eaten. that's the whole story.

as a human you are mentally capable ( I know, many humans are not exactly a textbook example of evolution but still) to understand the experience the fish is going through when he is lying on the plate in agony and suffering.

    @ LastEmperor28

a fish feels pain. extent is irrelevant.

  • oh yeah, and that's sashimi, not sushi. you shouldnt confuse the two, they're pretty different things.

also, the fish is prepared and sliced up while it's still alive. it's probably dead by the time it reaches your table, though. just twitching.

  • hey guys bears eat fish while they're still alive they're so cruel how can those sick horrible bears do such a thing it's so weird and unnatural

  • @kotatsuken Are you a total idiot? Do you not see the difference between an animal that doesn't know any better with a human being that HAS the ability to kill a living creature with a nervous system as quickly and humanly as possible?

  • @shafoplata the fish is dead its nerves are still moving happens to allot of animals a fish couldn't withstand being cooked or out of water for ore then about 5 minutes tops depending on the fish

  • @ipodhelpinghander

Erh, its still alive.. read up on ikezukuri man(Seriously, if you don't believe me, do it.).

  • @notuern if you believe that you're obviously intensely stupid because its elementary science that will teach you about nerves

  • @ipodhelpinghander

"Ikizukuri usually begins with the customer selecting from a tank in the restaurant, the animal they wish to eat. The chef, who is often a sashimi chef takes the animal out of the tank and filets it, but without killing the animal, which is served on a plate, sliced, with the heart still beating."

"Other variants of ikizukuri involve temporarily returning a filleted fish to an aquarium, to swim around until recovered for a second course of soup."

  • Reminds me of this 'poor' film I saw...

    =TeUBT5lKKM4

  • @stalag58 Learn proper English grammar...

  • @missleahtaylor Hey chink if you want to eat something eat on my white ass thats all you gooks are good for ..that and making toys

  • @stalag58 wouldn't suprise me the dirty fuckers eat anything.

  • Comment removed

  • i wonder how they butcher it without killing it. huh

  • You say I'm insulting people and i agree, but think about this. Am I the only one? So whats wrong with insulting people and no Im not 5 years old. So why only reply to me? Reply to every comment u find insulting &apparently you being dissapointed in me doesnt concern me. Do u not see all the disgusting hate comments? Do u really not? And those phrases " The japanese are so cruel how can they do this?" I cannot simply tolerate such coments i no u can for your not of that race

  • what a poor fish...look its suffering...

  • It is not that fresh, the mouth is not moving. This is just a nerve reaction causing the movements. I would say that has been dead at least 10mins or more. Certainly not "tank to plate" !

  • Yup. Got to eat them "FRESH"!

  • in japan, if you don't eat what the chef give you .

    this is a disrespect.

they will throw you in jail and take your watch.

  • hi cromodora, I'm not gonna argue with you.

I respect your ways of thinking.

Why do Japanese eat live fish?

I think it's just because we can get many live fishes easily, very natural reason. So, long long time ago, someone in Japan tried to eat live and raw fish and found its yumminess... and it became common here.

I admit Ikezukuri is a bit cruel, but I've got used to it coz I eat alot since childhood. what I now think about this is "very fresh. must be yummy"

    Am I evil? maybe yes.

  • @maricoco58

no matter what, killing animals is evil in my eyes

but we eat it because we like it, we are evil but it helps us enjoy our lives better

  • Its not alive retards its just really fresh and the nerves are breaking down if it was still alive you wouldve seen it flapping around

  • its not still alive, if it were so, it were try to breath but it doesnt...

  • what the fuck...who the fuck does that..how can japanese people not fukin throw up...im scared of fish..like really, they freak me the fuck out...if that was on plate id have fukin nightmaresmy

  • @DesertSmeagle

    I feel the same.

  • @DesertSmeagle hey think before you speak in differnt places of the world we eat different things u dummy and how would u feel if i said what u ate was disgusting and people every where around the world eat fish, i personally hate hamburgers so (cough) shut the fuck up

  • @DesertSmeagle Because it's a part of their culture. If you were raised in a home/country where this was deemed as normal, you wouldn't have a problem. Who cares. Show some respect for another culture.

And people wonder why the world hates us stupid ignorant Americans...

  • how you do eat a live fish, the smell would be really bad.

    i don't understand.

  • @lazyhorse22 Fish don't smell as bad fresh, or alive. It is when they are old and decomposing they stink.

  • You have to be careful about eating raw food even if it is fresh coz there could still be parasites in the fish. These parasites can grow inside your body and some will continue to grow in your brain which is very scary and hard to take out.
