miakamau, watch the show & you will see that Mr. Wade has respect for the fish and doesn't catch indiscriminately. This show educates about the world we live in & exposes us to creatures most of us wouldn't normally see. If you saw the show where he was in the Congo you would see he was a bit disturbed by the way the catfish were treated at the market. Keep things in perspective & learn. This is an educational show & he seems to go out of his way not to hurt the fish. Admirable.

cool, in Italy there are also very big fishes, particularly, pikes,but also sturgeons(heard claims of 25+ feet long specimens), and catfishes that are almost as big as the amazon's ones , but are very different , they're tail for example is like a paddle, while in the amazon is more like that of sharks , and of course the teeth are completely different in shape.

awesome! The catfish and carp around here are relatively the same size (1-2 ft) but you bait them you can get 4-5 ft monsters are more. A few of the other fish in our rivers/lakes are Walleye,Muskey,Stripers,and some Bluegill. But it's rumored that some nut from North Carolina dumped a 50 lb catfish into a section of river between 2 dams. No one's caught it-yet. lol
